He asked if I wanted him to look further and I said "yes" There ended up being a catastrophic amount of damage from an incorrectly installed roof that I got last summer which had resulted in a majority of the master bathroom having extensive water damage. Mike agreed to help me with getting everything fixed, essentially kick-starting his solo efforts as a general contractor and got his appropriate licensing and bonding to work as such in an individual capacity. He performed emergency coverage tasks on the roof during extreme weather to attenuate ongoing damage and ended up needing to gut and replace the entire master bathroom. Mike organized and subcontracted to experts for each specialized task including plumbing (all of the old plumbing in the walls was done incorrectly and would not last longterm) and large-scale tiling (Mike's father is a master tiler and it absolutely shows in the amazing work), always keeping me aware of any changes to the ongoing bill. While the task did end up being more than the initial grout cleaning, the full rebuild of my master bathroom was a significantly better value than other quotes I heard. The quality is masterwork and my wife loves it, and isn't THAT what really matters? It took several months to complete the job, due to always finding something else that the previous builders had done wrong or not at all; but now I have a master bathroom that I will not ever need to worry about. I will be hiring Mike again for my contracting needs.

I initially had chosen for the shower a slate tile. I appreciated that Noemi's crew explained the positive and negative of using a slate tile in the shower. Through their feedback, I wisely chose porcelain tile for both shower walls and have been very pleased with the outcome! They also added frosted windows for both showers to allow more natural light. New vanities, sinks, toilets, and Congoleum flooring was added for both bathrooms. I am very pleased with how the plumbing, tiling, flooring, and drywalling were completed. Also, everything was done to code and passed inspection with the City of Tacoma. Great level of professionalism and timeliness. I was kept up to date with what we would expect along the timeline of events. Second project was converting the attached garage of our home into a family room. They knocked this project out of the park!! The former garage floor was leveled prior to the bamboo wood flooring being installed. The walls had insulation added to code, new drywall, electrical, heating ventilation, two windows, texturing to the ceiling and walls, and insulating the exterior walls which had not been insulated when the slab was poured for the former garage. I am extremely happy with how this project was completed as well as what we have for the price and added value of square footage to our home. We wouldn't change a thing with how this project came together! Also, everything passed inspection with the City of Tacoma. A true garage to finished square footage conversion, done right! Finally, I had a small roofing project completed off of our roof deck. I had received a bid from a large roofing company in Tacoma and CJK Legacy came in with their bid considerably less and I was not upsold on unnecessary work. Daniel who completed the project also identified some dry rot and replaced the appropriate framing. I am very pleased with how this was completed and the shingles that were used match the shingles of my home on the upper roof.
