I'm very happy we shopped around some more. Lori was quick to respond and get an in-home estimate scheduled. She thoroughly explained all the options and what would look best to get our 1980's kitchen a bit more modern. They have a wide selection of styles and finishes to choose from. I was amazed at the difference in prices between the quotes. Not only a bunch (~50% cheaper), but better quality all around. It took two full days and only a couple hours on the third day to get everything installed. Allen is a true craftsman. He pointed out issues with the existing cabinets and was quick to fix them. Every step of the way he kept us informed. His attention to detail was astonishing. Items I would have never considered, such as the way the cabinets should open and putting in hinge stops to prevent the doors from running into other cabinets. Very careful and respectful of our entire house. Super friendly and was sure to clean up each day. I can't praise Home Improvements of Colorado enough. I always felt I could email them with any questions prior to the installation and they would get right back to me. Don't look any further. If you want the best, this is the only place you need to call.

She was a pleasure to work with, guiding us through the whole process and attentive to our many questions. The cabinet installer, Jesus, did an out standing job. He was so kind, skilled and meticulous. Carolina also helped us coordinate picking out granite for our countertops and developing a design. We used the company CW contracts with, stone ideas, and the countertops turned out beautiful! The installers did a wonderful job. There was a breakdown in communication regarding coordination of the countertop install which caused some frustration, but in the end the company scrambled to make things right and got the job done. Our overall experience with CW in Highlands Ranch was positive and we are very happy with the final outcome and pricing. Mary and Joe

In the beginning as we were collecting quotes, I was impressed with how responsive Kim was, I also felt like their prices were very reasonable in comparison to the other companies. We had a pantry, closet and a portion of a wall removed to make our house built in 1908 more open concept. New hardwood floors throughout the first floor. We also did new cabinets and countertops through kitchen creations. Kim helped us pick out our farmhouse sink. In an effort to save some money we did the backsplash, light fixtures and painting (though I wish we would have had Al (Tivoli Contracting) do the painting as most of it still isn't done ;). During the renovation the stairs to upstairs (we lovingly referred to as our apartment) was taped off to minimize dust etc. They were usually there promptly at 8a and would knock prior to entering despite the lock box. I would say I spent most days upstairs at the house during renovation. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat and would go back to Kitchen Creations and Al for future renovations!

Anthony and Mark came out and let us know it might look a little off to have an older kitchen floor with a new dinning room floor but gave me prices on both options - just the dinning room or refinishing the kitchen floor at the same time as the dinning room. No pressure just gave me the options. I'm glad we chose to refinish the kitchen floor at the same time because now everything looks perfect. Those guys work hard and are very fast! Jennifer who runs the office was very responsive to all my questions and texts before and during the process. As one of the other reviewers said, these guys use subcontractors of varying quality. They had to…read morerefinish the floor 3 times because the owner insisted on sending the same crew back each time (which makes sense if using a fixed-price sub - keeps their profit intact). I communicated my concerns professionally (and almost apologetically) with the owner as we went, but I'm not sure that any of them were addressed directly with the crew - rather they were just given basic instructions at the start of each day to fix the problems from the last go 'round. I'll give them credit for trying to make it right, and the floor looks a lot better than it did when they started, but it still wasn't 100% at the end and they didn't want to listen to any more complaints. A list of items specific issues that as far as I can tell were never communicated back to the crew: - The first thing the crew leader did was take a dump in my bathroom, without asking, and made this a daily ritual. - They didn't bother to cover anything up before sanding - no sheathing between rooms, no covers over the vents - so dust was everywhere in the house. At least I had the good sense to turn off the HVAC, but still had to change the air filters several times before they finished the job. - They sanded/buffed the carpet, trashing it where the carpet meets the hardwood. - Stain was applied in some places across grain / boards rather than same direction leading to stripes (1st attempt), and inconsistently leading to dark splotches (2nd attempt). - They used my ladder (from the garage) without asking. - They left gobs of topcoat around trim and puddling elsewhere. - They did not take the time to use filler properly after the second attempt - there are dark spots around nails, knots, and where sanding was rough. - Hand sanding was quite rough in several areas leading to dark stain, especially around trim, cabinets, toilet, etc. And they didn't thoroughly clean or screen before coating in several places, leading to dirt and debris in the finish. - Stain spatter was left on the wall from brush work and flinging wet towels. The sinks were a left an absolute mess. - There was no real cleanup to speak of and patches of grass are dead in the front yard where they cleaned stain off their tools and equipment. - The "suicide cord" they were using to connect to 240V was a fire and safety hazard. After attempting to share my last round of concerns (not asking for them to redo it again but rather just trying to share some of the issues for future improvement), Anthony told me to stop looking so closely and asked, "You gonna blast us on the internet?" indicating his level of concern. For a website that touts their high level of professionalism and reputation, the crew did not reflect it. If I wasn't a professional contractor myself, then this might have been a traumatic experience. And if I knew the crew and could have hired them directly, then I would have undoubtedly paid half as much... but then they might not have redone it 3 times (especially because I would have kicked them out after the second attempt). I never asked for a discount, and one was certainly never offered. I'm leaving 2 stars because on Yelp that means it "could've been better" but for the price I paid to go with the "pros" I regret not giving one of the other bidders a chance.

Stop reading reviews!…read more You don't need to go any farther! Caleb at Granite Direct is all you need to know! From the 1st time I walked in the door, it was a completely different and far better experience than at any of the several other granite suppliers I'd visited. Hmm, what could be the phrase....does "distant attentiveness" make sense? Caleb was definitely there to help with any questions I had, but not hovering as if trying to rush me along. The selection is not the largest in the city, to be sure, but diverse enough that anyone should find at least a couple of slabs they like. After I spent maybe an hour going around and around, unable to decide, Caleb asked a few questions about the space, the light and the effect I wanted. He walked around the warehouse with me and pointed out on individual pieces what colors worked best, if a subtle effect could be expected or a more dynamic one, how a piece would reflect light, how it would work with the adjoining room. I've done several renovations before, and wasn't my first time to the granite rodeo, but no one had ever made it so easy for me to make a decision. When I first went to Granite Direct, it was because a fabricator I had worked with in the past sent me there. Without going into all the problems with that person/company, NOT working with him was perhaps the best thing of all! Caleb sent me an artist! Vataly was superb! And that he was so well mannered and respectful of my home was a bonus! Every measurement was very, very precise and he measured and remeasured to be sure it was exactly right in my completely out of kilter kitchen. The breakfast bar that I wanted was just a little unusual, and Wow! did it ever come out perfectly! He cut the granite so the veins were in exactly in the most attractive places. And delivery was exactly on time, in spite of just having an accident that put him in a cast! Oh, did I mention cost? While some fabricators, who will remain nameless, wanted me to buy another whole slab of granite, to make his work easier, Caleb furnished Vataly (VDM Granite Unlimited) with the extra remnant needed to keep my cost down! What a guy! Amazing customer service! I 'll never go anywhere else for granite and neither should you. A+, 5 star experience from the beginning to the end!
