Today was the weirdest experience I've had at Kitchen Table Cafe. No acknowledgement when we walked in the door, not a greeting or anything. We stood there in silence waiting for a host or anyone to seat us. The hosts asks "2 of you?" Without even looking at us so we had no clue who she was even referring to. There were people behind us also waiting to be seated and the host just shrugged around and showed no sense or urgency. I got the wrong dish brought out to me, I told the waitress what dish I actually ordered, she says nothing and takes the plate back to the kitchen. No apology or comment to acknowledge what happened. The energy of the staff came off like they would have rather been anywhere else. Really sad service. read more

I've been going to this restaurant for years. The food has always been good in the past, the service always prompt, courteous and professional. This time however was different. Yes the restaurant was under staffed. However I've been a server in the busiest of times and this time I was unimpressed. My family and I went on a busy morning and were seated in about 10 minutes, and that wasn't a problem. But after we were seated and given water by the hostess, the usual service me and my family are familiar with ended. We were just forgotten about. Many other families who were seated after us got their drink orders in, then their food orders, while me and my family were just sitting there, completely forgotten about. When I spoke to the hostess about the situation, I was being understanding about how busy the restaurant was, however as a server for many years, I know under the circumstances, you approach the table and let them know that you're busy and running behind, but you will be there as soon as possible. Instead we were just completely forgotten about. The hostess let me know that our server was right next to me with her back to me, then that same server took the order of another table that was sat after us. After this took place, that left a very poor taste in my mouth. This is the first time this is happened here for me, so maybe it was just a bad day, but working in this industry for many years, maybe that just leaves me yearning for higher standards and Customer Service skills than what was given to us today. I might visit this restaurant again, but I am unsure as of right now. Just keep this in mind before you visit and see many new faces that you've never seen before there. read more

Ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, and while it was a very sweet meal, it was delicious. I'll probably get something that doesn't have as much sugar in it next time I'm here. The menu online is smaller than the menu they have at the store, and they have a seasonal menu that looked interesting. Nice vibe, good food, would eat here again! read more

Good choice for groups both because of the seating layout and the varied menu. There's several other American food diners in town, and things can tend rowards being crowded, bland, and greasy. Excellent! Lemon bread french toast was out of this world. Real lemon bread! Powered sugar and drizzled with raspberry sauce, WOW! Had to get the cinnamon roll that was the size of my head and it did not disappoint. Layered in frosting, warm and fresh. Customer service was on point. Wow! If you need your morning coffee like I do, Kitchen Table Cafe is the Place! The cups are gigantic and the coffee is smooth. We went to the Orchard location and the staff was super friendly. Our server, Krystal, was attentive and efficient. Although the menu has plenty of yummy breakfast faves, you can still manage to eat healthy if that's what you're into. I had the veggie omelette no cheese. So much avocado! Everything is fresh and tasty and the portions are big! read more

Hands down my favorite breakfast place in Vancouver. I'm never disappointed and this week I went two mornings in a row. I'm a fan of the chicken fried steak with red potatoes. The biscuits are great too. One other thing I live about this place is the variety of flavored coffee creamers they have on the table. It's such a little thing, but I've never seen that at any other restaurant. They also have a reward program to earn money off future visits. read more

Told 20 to 25 minutes was actually 45 mins since they were more concerned with holding empty tables for large parties. Food was very good. Too much served so had to take left overs home. One of the better breakfast locations in Vancouver. They have lots of options. You can go healthy with a turkey veggie scramble, or indulge with a waffle or french toast. The food is all good! They have flavored creamer on the tables for the coffee, which is one of my favorite parts. They have a rewards program that'll get you some freebies, which is nice. read more

I walked into front door. Two hosts at register, they walked toward me I thought one might be in training, they both looked at me turned right not acknowledging me at all. They went and separated two tables that was already bussed. Came back my direction toward register and stood there. Another customer walked in, stood beside me and asked if she wanted a to go menu. She said yes, server walked up Gabe her the menu then walked off again not acknowledging me. Another minute went by and the two hostess walked my direction then stood by menus talking. I raised both my hands up on the air and said do you see me. She walks up and says (One)? Like that's a problem. She turns around and starts heading for a table, I asked if I could have a half booth. She said the ones in the back are duty. You can either of those. She plops the menu down and walks away. Food was good server that waited on me was fine.
