Very very impressed and satisfied with Kitchen Medic! The owners Joel and Todd meet with you personally. They have different crews for every stage of the remodel. All were very professional and paid attention to the little details to keep our home clean. My husband and I called for a couple quotes in August, Joel from Kitchen Medic took the time to break everything down during his visit and answer every question we had. Other contractors made us feel like we were wasting their time, and in a rush to leave. We had a galley 90's style kitchen. We wanted to knock out a wall to get the open concept our home deserved. Kitchen Medic definitely over delivered! We were initially quoted 3 weeks for the job (which is nothing). The crew worked so fast that we had a completed kitchen less than 2 weeks (11 working days)! We have all heard of remodel horror stories that prolong the finish date from weeks to months. I'm sure other contractors are cheaper in price, but will inconvenience the homeowner for a long period of time. Piece of mind is what you'll get with KM. UPDATE 12/28/21 I'm so confused & disappointed with this company! After my initial post Alyssa posted a reply about the business being under new management and for me to contact her "to make the situation right." She posted the same response to a post of another unsatisfied customer & I wonder if she made good on it. For some reason her reply to my post is now gone, and I think it's because she doesn't want to lose money redoing my kitchen. I called Alyssa who said she & an employee with come inspect my kitchen. She never came but sent 2 other employees, one of whom I remembered from the remodel. He agreed there were issues with the kitchen. He said the staining was off and not consistent & that there should have been some type of coating on top of the stain so that it wouldn't peel. He also noticed details that weren't finished correctly & said the material used near the stove was wharped because it may have been poor quality from the manufacturer. I felt validated that he agreed a lot of corrective work was needed. He said he'd speak with Alyssa and she would contact me. Well that's been several months ago and still nothing. I have left Alyssa A NUMBER of messages and she fails to reply. I even left a text for her on Thanksgiving weekend and she finally replied saying that she's still spending time with family & would call me that Monday. She never called and has continued to consistently ghost me. I even called Joel, the other owner, and no reply by either owner. In my last message to Alyssa I said if you don't want to make it right as YOU offered, at least call back & let me know. Crickets!! I should have listened to a vendor they work with who said their work wasn't that good & they gave gift cards to customers for a positive yelp review (this was previous mgmt & not sure if they still do this). I know 2 other customers who were also unsatisfied, one of which told Todd (the previous owner, and I believe Alyssa's step-dad, with Joel) to stop the work in their house. He got someone else to finish the job. Wish I would've spoken with him beforehand. I've never experienced such poor work and follow-up service at this level. Over 20k and this is what we're left with. Every time I look at our peeling cabinets I feel like crying! How can you run a successful business when you treat customers this way? I can't say enough good things about our experience with Kitchen Medic. My wife and I had recently bought a home and our orange oak cabinets and seashell sinks hadn't seen their glory days since The Princess Bride came out in theaters. With a new baby on the way, we were on a pretty tight deadline to get things refreshed. We called a handful of contractors and remodelers and only got responses back from a few. Joel came out from KM to scope the project and provide an estimate, and immediately stood out from the crowd. He was friendly, knowledgeable, not sales-y, and really built trust and confidence, which was so important to us since we were inexperienced and never had the opportunity to remodel a place before now. He gave us a bunch of options on the SOW to make things work for our budget, and quickly came back with an estimate that was very competitive. We signed with them and had a little wait to get started as they worked through their queue of current projects. The silver-lining here is this gave us plenty of time to work on designs with Alyssa (who is really nice, super responsive, and gave us a really good vision for how things would look), choose our materials, and get our shopping done for all the client-supplied materials that we needed to buy. Once the project got started, things start moving very quickly. Demo was done in less than a day, they were flexible as we discovered things we hadn't thought of and made change orders along the way, and they always cleaned up as much as they could at the end of the day so the rest of the home was livable for the family. The crews for demo, cabinets, counters, tile, etc were all awesome - they were kind, professional, did excellent work and took pride in their work, and did a good job of checking in with us before making decisions on the job. Todd, the owner, runs the project once things kick off, and again, our experience with him was great. He's responsive, knows his stuff, and pushed the team to get everything done before the baby showed up. We're thrilled with how everything turned out and have received tons of compliments from friends and family on their work. We eventually want to do some additional work on the house, including our showers/tubs, and we will definitely be working with the KM team again on that project. I've waited 3 years to write this review because I thought, just maybe, our poor experience was worth it if the work held up. Well, it hasn't. Our shower now has cracks on every single one of its seems. Every corner has a crack in the grout. The tile work will need to be redone sometime in the near future to remove all the cracks in the grout. In the second bathroom we have cracks in the grout where the grout meets the tub. We should have known the work would not hold up since Shortly after the contractors left we had to hire our own plumber to come out and change the pipe connection from the brand new toilet to the floor. The plumber had to remove the old hardware that was left by the contractors and install new hardware and connecting lines. They had connected the new toilet to same old house hardware that had been on the original bathroom. During our whole house renovation we felt like we were being treated like we were children. Which we were not. Any questions we had about work being done or how it was being done, we were promptly reminded that the project manager had been "doing this for 30 years" so he knew what he was doing. Of course, this was not an actual answer. When pressed for real responses we were met with a machismo attitude and standoffish responses. One person working for them also did poor workmanship. Crooked paint lines, poor grout fill, sloppy caulking work, and this man even tried to make a light fit in a space that clearly didn't work. Instead of asking us to purchase a new light, he simply bent one side of the light fixture to fit the space so the one light was bent against the wall. We still have a scrape in the wall where the contractor tried to paint over the mistake. Of course this wasn't remedied by the project manager, we had to bring this up for it to get fixed. All in all we had hoped the clash in personality and constant needing to cross check the work would be worth it in the end because the work would stand the test of time. Unfortunately it looks like that's not the case and we will need to get a new remodel sooner, rather than later. read more

Our first retirement project was to do a kitchen, bathroom and laundry room remodel. With all the construction war stories we heard from our friends we were reluctant to get started... ...we began our search for our contractor. The YELP reviews for Kitchen Medic were reassuring so we made the call. Joel promptly responded to our request and was at our door the next day. We were impressed not only with his quote but with the short time frame he gave us for completing the job. We signed up that day and within a couple days we met Todd as they both arrived to make the final measurements for our project... we were so impressed we added our complete first floor to be tiled my KM. Dan and Marvin were the first to arrive for the tile job the week of Halloween. They cleared out our first floor carpet and molding in no time and started tiling our front room, den and dining room floor. When the demolition crews showed up Nov 2nd things really got moving. Kitchen gutted, old kitchen tile removed, pony wall and new stairs built, laundry and down stairs bathroom gutted. The crew took great efforts to cover up our furniture and respected our home as they worked. When the installation of our new cabinets and appliances began we were impressed. Every crew member was precise in their job. They completed their portion promptly and ALWAYS cleaned up before they left for the day. They even had their own crew to pick up the trash. At times different crews showed up on the same day and they all worked well together. Finally we were done. Dan and Marvin put the finishing touches on the kitchen tile and back-splash. Dave and Witman finished any touch ups and adjustments that we found during the final walk through. By Thanksgiving the remodel was complete and we couldn't be happier. Needless to say we highly recommend Kitchen Medic for your remodel project. We're even going to have them back for more bath/bedroom projects upstairs. No NEGATIVE War Stories to tell! I was new to this entire process and have never been through a remodeling project. From the beginning, the entire team couldn't have been any more helpful. They came out and gave me a quote within a day. They gave me a list of items I needed purchase and referrals to different companies they have worked with and I was underway. Clients need to understand that they might not be able to start your project right away. However, it was well worth any wait. Our first contact with Kitchen Medic was at the end of summer, 2017. We met with Joel on multiple occasions throughout the rest of that year before finalizing. Joel was great at answering and providing input where/when needed. I considered our project to be pretty big, but Todd and his crew knocked out Demo in just 4 hours. Since day 1, everyone showed up on time and as scheduled. Everyone on staff worked great and left the place clean after every shift, which meant a lot since we were living in the house (with kids) during construction. Our biggest complaint is also our biggest compliment: Once construction started....there was no stopping. Their speed and efficiency was almost overwhelming in the beginning. The crew stuck to their schedule. Todd had everyone lined up and ready to go day after day. Armando did an amazing job with the electrical work and helped us with placement of recessed lighting, outlets and switches (since we had not thought this through prior!). Daniel was the first to arrive and the last to leave every day. He made sure we were happy with the daily progress. The plans/details of the estimate were never deviated, nor under quoted, unless it was by our own doing. About 4-6 weeks after completion, we had minor issues with a drawer and sliding glass door. Frank responded promptly and took care of these problems. Choosing a contractor is stressful and scary. This was not just a kitchen remodel for our family, Kitchen Medic turned our house into a home. If you're looking for your next home renovation crew, you've found them. We decided to renovate our kitchen (which is not for the faint of heart) and there is no one else I'd recommend for the job. Kitchen medic made what should be a grueling and unbearable renovation as smooth as it could have possibly gone. They showed up on time everyday. From beginning to end, each person did their job well. I can't thank Alyssa enough for her professionalism and communication throughout the whole process. We had three different kitchen remodeling vendors come out and discuss options with my wife and I as well as provide us with quotes. Joel from Kitchen Medic stood out and his suggestions contained some great ideas that my wife and I had not thought of and that we really liked. Ultimately we signed with Kitchen Medic and they stated the scope of work, which included a full new kitchen, new drywall ceiling and lights as well as tile flooring, would take 10-15 business days and be completed by Christmas, 2017. They delivered on both fronts. The work took 12 business days and was completed two weeks prior to Christmas. Joel and Todd's crew were communicative, on-time, professional and cleaned-up everyday before they left. We also had two change orders and Todd was very accommodating and was able to get those included. On 05/28/19 Kitchen Medic started my dream kitchen/bath/floor remodel and they estimated 25 full working days- nobody believed that they would finish in 25 days and they were right; it was actually 24 days. Let me provide a framework- I invested in a 6 figure project (including outside labor costs) to renovate all of our downstairs. Our flooring was roughly 1600 sq ft (installed wood tile), demoed a fairly large 300 sq ft kitchen (prefab cabinets with custom island/range hood), downstairs bathroom (all marble) and laundry room. As for me, I was not easy.. I did everything my husband told me not to do; hovered over their shoulders, gave them advice, wrote signs all over the walls, and basically micro managed to an annoying fault but yet... they still managed to smile day after day....who am I kidding? They showed up! The fact that you're on Yelp, I can only assume that you're in a position where I was 6 months ago frantically searching for fair pricing, good customer service, quality work & a trustworthy company? To be honest, I got over 10 bids from the most reputable companies in the IE and after researching hundreds of hours, I finally narrowed it down to 2 companies. In the end, Kitchen Medic won because they did not over promise anything while the other company did and you know what they say when its "too good to be true". Id be a fool to gamble our finances and dream away on just any company. Remember Yelpers, Kitchen Medic has been doing this for years with the same employees on payroll & with workers comp- something to really consider! So I actually like Kitchen Medics structure- very straight forward system. A nice & friendly man named Joel (sales) will come over and give you an estimate the SAME day! If all is good & you're in, he'll come back and collect your deposit. Next, you'll meet again with Joel & eagle eyed Todd (project manager) who will probably give suggestions on how to make your home even better! Then an absolute saint named Alyssa will send you a visual layout of your home & scope of work which lists every detail you and Joel discussed. TADA!! Now its DEMO DAY! Uh-oh.... already a problem, damn it! Hmm.. is Todd going to handle our flooring issue by cutting corners OR do it the right way? Here was the true test of integrity and Todd did it the RIGHT way albeit additional cost on his end. Juan & his crew are veterans in the flooring dept. Dan (best sense of humor) & Marvin (so sweet)- plumbing experts. A different Dan & his crew- THE BEST at details and literally asks if you're happy at the end of the day. BTW, the crew is always on time & will clean up. And then there is Todd... might have his game face on but the nicest guy around. Each day you will get project updates & Todd will show up in the mornings and take charge like the boss he is. Its true, Todd will treat your home like it's his... he even started cleaning & organizing my garage & made sure trash was taken away immediately. There was even a microscopic scratch on my kitchen mural and he had someone replace it the next day. Todd, we will never forget your generosity & kindness- thank you! Lastly, NOT a single item was missing or broken! I couldn't believe it, yet another painting company came weeks later and broke 2 vases in 1 day- the irony! Anyways, whether your remodel is imminent or not, I hope you get a bid from KM because honestly its hard to find a company of their caliber. Those 5 star ratings are not a fluke! I come to realize that these folks are not just employees but one big loving and fiercely loyal family. I just had a huge party and people thought my home was something out of HGTV and still couldn't believe my testimony of how everything went. I want to first start by thanking the whole Kitchen Medic (KM) team (Joel, Alyssa, Eleazar, Ely and their crew for an awesome job on our kitchen remodel and and whole downstairs floor replacement from laminated flooring to luxury vinyl flooring. The whole project was completed magnificently. I began getting several bids in early January 2020 by researching through Yelp, local contractors with the highest customer ratings and reviews. Joel from KM came out and provided us a free estimate one of several since I always try to acquire the minimum of 3 bids for any project, especially of this magnitude. He was very professional, approachable and seemed forthright (just to name a few of his character traits he demonstrated to us). Along with this, was his input while brainstorming with us on the design of an updated kitchen and as well as our vision of what we wanted (such as an island that would seat six to replace a table where the nook was), a final concept was born and out of the bids I received, Kitchen Medic was not only the best price, but we felt they could deliver the project on time and the agreed price. However, Joel mentioned that they were a few months from starting on our project (this was pre-COVID) since they had projects lined up already ahead of ours (we took this as a positive sign - demand for their services and line of waiting projects meant other customers felt they were the best to go with). We thus chose KM and signed the contract the end of January along with placing the initial deposit to get in line. By the way, Joel also included items for us such as patching an old 1990's intercom system that was throughout the first floor, centering a light, etc. Well as we all know, the pandemic hit and with stay at home orders in March, our project was further delayed, which was ok with us until we knew more about this pandemic. Joel provided timely updates on the potential start schedule which allowed us to purchase items such as the dishwasher, stove, choosing the flooring, the Silestone counter top etc. way ahead of the start date and allowed us to save on such items through sales, etc. After the various counties began easing restrictions, Joel gave us the actual start date, working with us to provide enough time to prep the house for the project. (There's a final measurement and sign off of drawings, including 3D, that I will just note - all those went well). The project started after Memorial Day and completed a few weeks later. Ely's crew did the majority of the remodel work - what was impressive and noteworthy was that KM has multiple crews for each phase and even a person that specializes in the electrical, water and dry wall patching - he took pride in his work like a craftsman and the quality shows. I've had several contractors for various projects in our home throughout the years with bathroom remodels, popcorn ceiling removal, internal and external painting of the house. By far the KM crew, lead by Ely, was the hardest working, efficient and focused we've ever seen. My sons even took notice - stating these guys worked hard, consistently throughout each day of the project. If you had other contractors before - you know what I mean (they're on their cell phone, taking the least path of resistance, don't clean up daily) - KM had none of that. As pet owners of 3 dogs, it wasn't even necessary to ask that they clean up on a daily basis, it was inherent in their end of day tasks before leaving each day which we noticed the very first day they were on the project site. They took pride in their work and from what Joel mentioned most have been long term dedicated employees and it showed in their actions and results. Last but not all the least, I want to thank and recognize Alyssa for her phenomenal customer service. She was always so responsive with answering questions and following through. In fact one evening it was her birthday and had family over, surprising her - she still contacted me back to answer my question and apologize for the slight delay - that was impressive (I didn't think she was late in responding). Just to point out the customer service level that KM abides by, after a couple weeks from project completion, Alyssa reached out and asked if there were any adjustments needed and also offered if there were anything that comes up later on regarding the project, they were there for us to resolve. How impressive is that! In summary - I would absolutely, highly recommend Kitchen Medic for your kitchen and flooring remodel project. Let me start by saying that kitchen Medic did an amazing job with our house. The Yelp reviews helped tremendously, so this is my way of giving back and providing a summary of our experience with kitchen Medic. We started looking for a contractor in Sep 2018 and after countless hours of research, referrals and overthinking we settled on 4 contractors. Our contractor selection was based on 3 key decision points. Reliability, Quality and Price. Reliability / quality: it's Tough to gauge from looking at pictures but kitchen medic was the fastest to set up a visit to a completed job site. We were able to see the product first hand and view the quality of work with our own eyes. Talking to the home owner was a huge plus and the visit allowed us to put a check mark by 2 of our 3 decision points. Kudos to Joel for setting this up. Price: From the 4 contractors we considered, KMs price was the best price we received. After months of comparing we decided to pull the trigger in Dec 2018. Once we started the kitchen project it quickly morphed into redoing the flooring for the entire house, painting and raising the floor on the sunken den, refacing 1 fireplace, painting 3/4 of our house, re-setting support beams and much more. Note some/most of these were changes we made on the fly and Todd and his crews handled my multiple change orders without issue. The guys showed up on time with great attitudes and made sure that the work was to our satisfaction. All projects have disagreements, tension and stress; however Todd and his crews ensured that all open issues/disagreements were resolved to our satisfaction. I want to make sure that I thank Rodolfo and team for the plumbing. Sergio and his crew for the demo work. Daniel and his crew for the painting and cabinet work. Juan, Marvin and Daniel for the tile work and a special thanks to Elizar for all the finishing touches. All of the crews that came to my house were filled with "Can Do" guys with great attitudes. Kitchen Medic was the best decision I made for remodeling my kitchen! From the first estimate appointment with Joel I had a good feeling. He listened to what my ideas and concerns were and put together a design I not only LOVE but within the time frame I had hoped! This was very important to me because prior to meeting with Kitchen Medic, I had worked with another kitchen remodeling company and was very disappointed with the design, sales representative, estimated timeframe, and price. I'm so glad that something told me to hold off and try one more company. My kitchen is average sized (12'x12') and I hoped that an island was possible, however it was explained to me by both companies it was not feasible. However, Joel showed me that I could gain more counter space by extending my countertops in two locations to create an area to work on, place small kitchen appliances, and allow for a sitting area. I am extremely pleased with the design. Additionally, unlike the other company, the affordable overall cost included the countertop upgrade and wall mounted range hood installation over my new range/oven I really wanted too! Once the actual demolition and construction work started I interacted on a regular basis with Todd. Again, another great guy to work with who listens to the customer's concerns and gets the job done! The Kitchen Medic crew was very respectful of our home and left it in a good manner at the end of each work day. Also, the tile and countertop merchants recommended to us had very knowledgeable and easy to work with individuals too. We decided to have Kitchen Medic install new tile flooring. Originally I thought I would go with a busy travertine design, but when I shared various kitchen photos with a sales representative at the tile company she pointed out that the floors were a wood design tile and that was really a great and durable way to go. I'm so glad l decided to go with her idea! I LOVE my flooring! Low maintenance and great looking! Overall I would highly recommend Kitchen Medic. My Kitchen was completed this past Summer 2016 and I've wanted to take time out to write them a special review which was truly earned. Thanks again Kitchen Medic! This was our second job with Kitchen Medic. Our first was a large remodel of our kitchen which was reviewed here by my wife. Kitchen Medic was a natural choice for us to go back to for the remodel of both our bathrooms. In short, Kitchen Medic did a great job. Todd and his crew did a fabulous job updating our 1140 sq. ft. townhouse. Our first priority was the outdated kitchen. It was original from 1987, complete with wood trim and off-white tile countertops...ew. We also had 3 drawers that wouldn't open because of its tight proximity to the oven. The drawers could only open about 3 inches...that's useful. Now? Our kitchen is AMAZING! It has to be the nicest kitchen in our neighborhood. We lowered the pony wall and raised the cabinets to the ceiling, put in beautiful quartz countertops and white cabinets. It really opened the place up! Todd and Joel did a great job helping us design and maximize the space we have here. I mean, the kitchen will always be small, but the usable counter and cabinet space has expanded tremendously and now we can open those drawers! We also updated 2 bathroom vanities/countertops with matching materials to the kitchen. They turned out so nice. Another big job was ripping out the leaky fiberglass/plastic shower kit we had in the master bathroom. Dan the Man (the tile man) and his apprentice Marvin created a GORGEOUS tile shower for us; complete with a 3-shelve nook and rainfall and handheld shower heads. The shower is so luxurious. Dan and Marvin are super nice and do amazing tile work. They did a fantastic job on the kitchen backsplash as well. The other crew we had working here also did a great job. Very talented! All of this, plus a fireplace update and a pocket door for the master bathroom - finished in 3 weeks and within our budget. Overall, everyone who set foot in this house during construction was nothing but kind and professional. Highly recommend!! read more

I spoke to Joel and he seemed hesitant about giving me a quote, I believe the job was not large enough for him. Regardless we set up an appointment for 2 weeks later (his soonest available). Joel called me an hour and half before our scheduled appointment to cancel. Apparently his company was overbooked. Do not use this company!!! We hired Kitchen Medic in November of 2019 for a custom kitchen remodel, a reface of hallway cabinets, and to build a wall unit in our living room. They began work in January 2020 and what was supposed to be a contracted 21 days ended up being months and then ended with an incomplete kitchen when they walked off the job. The quality of their work was extremely poor and we had issues which we discussed with them from the beginning. The issues ranged from cabinets not lining up due to incorrect construction, cabinet doors not closing, large island splitting apart, counter tops incorrectly installed originally, reinstalled and seems are not smooth, edge banding coming off, plumbing and electrical issues, lights hanging out of wall unit due to improper installation, missing handles on cabinet doors, paint cracking on drawer fronts, overspray all over new floors, the list goes on and on. Kitchen Medic claimed they would fix these issues but instead walked off the job in June and left our kitchen and living room a complete disaster. They forfeited the remaining balance of 12,800 and said they had completed the job to industry standards which they clearly had not. We ended up having to go to the state licensing board (CSLB) for an investigation and then through arbitration. Unfortunately the limit for mandatory arbitration is only 15,000 so we could not get all of what we paid back. During the arbitration the company lied and said we must have created all the issues after they walked off the job which is ridiculous. The state agreed with us that the quality of their work was extremely poor and we were awarded the entire 15,000 on top of the 12,800.
