Kitchen Mae kong is the old restaurant name still left up, but actually called thia table. I enjoyed my Thai iced tea, the fresh spring rolls were very fresh, and our meals green curry and pad kee may were delicious. This is a new restaurant and hasn't quite been discovered yet so it felt like a secret spot. Fyi I rarely do posts but others should know about this little gem with great prices. read more

The first thing I noticed was the beautiful wood paneling along the walls. They had decorated the place up for Christmas and it looked quite festive! The food and drinks were absolutely delicious. They were able to accommodate our preferences such as vegan and gluten free. I highly recommend the Ka Cashew which was particularly delicious. The Thai Tea was refreshing. The only constructive feedback I have is about wait times. It took a while to seat us and get our orders and food. However, I do not feel as if it's worth reducing the "stars" on the review as the food was absolutely outstanding. read more

I'll preface my review by saying: I've never dined in here. I've only done pickup or delivery. That being said: THE FOOD HERE IS DELICIOUS! The authenticity is there. I've tried multiple dishes from here including certain curries and they get it right every single time man. They haven't failed yet. This is my preferred Thai restaurant on this side of town and currently my #2 overall in the Charlotte area. I'm a loyal customer and will definitely keep supporting this business. read more

Popped in for a quick bite and had great service as always. This time we got. Pad Thai with chicken: 5/5. Pad krapraw: 5/5. Served with jasmine rice and has the right ratio of chicken to peppers (something that other places don't get right. Sweet tea: 5/5 At this point we've tried most of the menu. All of the curries are also good and green curry is our favorite. You can't go wrong with Singapore noodle or the Larb. The nom tak is a nice option for those who enjoy pho style soup. read more

Came here for dinner. Our waiter was very nice man. It was 30 minutes before closing but we didn't feel rushed at all. Dinner was lovely. Portion size seem to be a few ounces smaller so maybe order an appetizer or else you may still be hungry with your entree. Very intimate dim light restaurant. I enjoy eating here even when the previous company was here Thai house. They got the spice level just rice. Level 4. read more

Had some great Pad See Ew, potstickers & Summer Roll. Service is great, ambiance is lovely, and the draft selection is unique. However, the Pad Thai is the worst I've ever had. No chicken, onions, or lime. And we had asked for spicy, but it was tasteless. This place could be awesome if it were more consistent. read more

Oh my goodness, outstanding flavor, food, service, and authentic ambiance. I had the house salad with ginger dressing. And the dressing was so refreshing and delicious. Tonight is 5/5/2023. Whoever was cooking/ running the kitchen tonight, hit it 100%! We ordered papaya salad/ Tum Maak Hoong, larb gai and a beef red curry! All was excellent! I am wondering if the cook is from Laos?!?! Keep it up and we shall return! Thanks!!! read more

The only thing preventing a 5 is nit picky. I like my Pad Thai to be Thai Spicy with a lime. It was great but I like it even more spicy and I missed the lime. Staff very prompt and accommodating. Summer Rolls were very good. Decor inside is amazing. Reminds me of the temples I have seen in and around Bangkok. Definitely worth a second visit. The dishes I saw walking by looked on point. I ate my food before photographing it! Apologies. Great experience and great food. read more

Me and my family always give here and they never disappoint us!! The food is amazing and the restaurant is beautiful!

The worst Thai food I have ever had. I almost threw up when I took a bite of the pad kee mow. I work in the service industry and don't complain often but this was so bad, I had to leave a review. I would only consider coming back if I got a refund for what I purchased today. read more

Meh... We got takeout from them this week for 8 people ($$$$) - 2 Soups,, Spring Rolls, 3 Curries, Pad Thai. Spring Rolls were very small, cold, and hard...Tom Kha was watery with 2 shrimp in it...TWO, Tom Sum was bland. The Curries were tasty but lacked meat and veggies...everything was cold. I don't recommend it. read more

This place is great. We came in around 4:00PM and it was pretty empty which surprises me because it's a great place. The waiters were great, my water never went close to halfway empty, they kept refilling asap. Food came out in maybe ~10 minutes. If you can handle spicy, like burning spicy, the spice level 4+ is good for you. If you can't handle burning spicy stick to 3 and below spice level. Food was great! Had curry, sushi, and a stir fry dish. 5/5. (I thought I should add this just cause it might help others decide, I'm Asian. Lol.) read more

My husband and I love this place. It's moderately priced, the food is good. You definitely get your money's worth here. Plus the staff is so sweet and attentive. We enjoy bringing people here and letting them see for themselves how nice this restaurant is. read more

Terribly disappointed. I have been coming to Thai House for years, and always had great food, service, and atmosphere. This was AWFUL. Watery, starchy Red Curry, the chicken had an odd sweetness to it. The summer rolls were completely tasteless and mostly cabbage. The service was terrible. My dishes sat on the table the entire meal. I won't be back read more

The best Pad Kee Maow!!! If you had this dish at other Thai restaurants, this one is very authentic, flavorful, delicious and they added eggplants, soooo good. Kitchen Mae-Kong So since this was a bigger lunch I will have a smaller dinner. I didn't eat but a couple bites of the rice, but the rice was cooked perfectly. The chicken had the sweetest taste to it, I think it was perfectly cooked and the vegetables were wonderful, the soup was absolutely perfect to the spot. And then the salad was small enough with just enough sauce. Delicious read more

Stopped in for lunch. Had appetizer spring rolls and Pad Thai. 1. Sweet dipping sauce for appetizer was watered down. Not good. 2. Spring rolls only room temperature. 3. Pad thai is tomato based sauce and it had celery. Not what I expected for Pad thai. Sorry to say, not a very good meal today. read more

It's Gastonia Americanized Thai food. Pad Thai had a huge influx of ketchup taste. Shrimp was dry and chewy. Their noodle soup version of pho had dry chicken and basically chicken broth. And finally, our appetizer came out after the entrées. No mas. read more

The shrimp is good. Service was horrible. Went 2x and for this pace to be one of the only thai places in gastonia area. I'm not too impressed with their customer service either times. The prices they charge don't even begin ti add up the the flavor or amount of food they give you. Highly disappointed but then again didn't have high expectations after reading reviews sadly. read more

Food has changed, but still good! They have a little bit of everything as far as asian cuisine goes.

All the stars!! TLDR- Great food, Great service, Great prices. My favorite restaurant in Gastonia!! We come here often, the wait staff knows our names, our orders by heart and they take care to make sure we are well satisfied with each visit. I've never had nor seen poor customer service here. I've never had to ask for a refill. My drink never gets low enough for me to think to ask. The portions are large and the value for the price is wonderful. We like to try different sushi rolls each time and the ones we didn't care just weren't matching our taste buds that day! A few of our favorite dishes are the pad see ew with chicken, nam prig pow with chicken and shrimp. The red and green curry, I love their spring rolls as well as the dumplings!! They both have so much flavor!! My favorite sushi roll so far is the Baja roll! It's just spicy enough! I also really enjoy the tempura shrimp, it's a classic! I think so far the only sushi we haven't liked enough to try again was the lava rock roll. Though it is beautiful in presentation. I'm really just not an eel fan! I know the kitchen works very hard on their dishes so we gladly ate it with no complaints! If you're looking for a good quiet date night spot, this hidden gem is prefect!! read more

The facade is plain and very unassuming. Inside is a completely different world! The Thai wood panels are works of art, perfect to gaze on and take in while waiting for the food. Service was friendly and prompt. The shrimp summer rolls are very tasty! Good sized shrimp and just enough herbs to make it refreshing. The Larb Ka was good; the fish sauce gave the dish a little savory "funk" that we enjoyed very much. The Sea side roll with hamachi was not the best sushi I've ever had, but a little dip in soy sauce did some good. My husband's pork pad Thai gave me entree envy, but my Red curry was very tasty. The curry had just enough spice to make it flavorful, but not enough to make it painful (I'm sure they could bump up the spice upon request!) As soon as I heard mango sticky rice was available for dessert, I had to get it! The mango was perfectly ripe, sweet and tender and the sticky rice was nice and chewy. My husband got the fried bananas, which were generously coated in panko crumbs, giving them a great crispy texture with the soft and sweet banana in the middle. We're definitely looking forward to going again! read more

Very disappointing. The ambiance is cool but everything I tried was meh at best. I got the Thai tea and that was... watery. Like they cut the cream with water before making the tea. Then my $10 squid tempura came out and there were like 6 pieces of squid and 10 pieces of deep fried vegetables(???) even though it doesn't say it comes with veggies on the menu so that felt like a scam. For my entree I got basil fried rice. The rice was barely even fried and yet the egg was overcooked. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. read more
