I googled knife sharpening and found the best kitchen shop! This was my first time in the store and they have everything you could need or want. It felt as if I was at a street fair when I overheard a young man doing gadget demonstrations. He then sharpened my knives and did an excellent job. I will be back but bring my wife along this time! There were about twenty items I could have bought in less than five minutes! The store is a kitchen lovers dream. The store has come a long way since I knew Jan's parents back in the early 80s in their smaller store. She has taken the store to new heights. The entire ambiance of Kitchen Kitchen is extraordinary. I was recommend this place through Yelp just looking up "knifes" and it was totally worth the drive. From the first time I came by the gentleman noticed I had a knife picture on my phone and offered help on the knifes right when I walked in. It was nice not needing to ask them for help they're pretty attentive. I bought a knife for myself and wanted to get a knife carrying case but they only had a limited assortment. The owner (I assume) offered to put my name and number down for when they get more merchandise. The second time I went around the same gentleman recognized my cousin and I and greeted us again, it's always nice to have someone with a charm be your greeter and break the ice. I went to get the knife carrying case this time and they had a bigger assortment which was nice and hard to decide but my cousin decided for me. Esther was the one to check us out on the register and we talked a little she was great and I do look forward to being back sometime. I got 5 empty pockets in my 8 pocket case so OF COURSE I'm going to need to fill them. I do recommend this place to locals and more! I got 20% for being a chef on my purchase which is even more awesome! They have any possible thing you would need for a kitchen and then some. Jan the owner is very knowledgeable and personable. I was at a luncheon where she was the guest speaker. She donated raffle prizes and I won a Zyliss Easy pull food processor. This is the best thing in my kitchen. You just pull and no plug in required. Works better then my mini food processor the same size. This place is also perfect for gifts large or small. I bought 2 of the Zyliss to take as gifts for holidays parties. What happened? I've been going here for knife sharpening about a year. I use my knives heavily so I need to have them sharpened fairly frequently. The woman who owns the shop is very friendly and personable. Her son is another matter and sometimes he is the only one in the shop. The last time I took my knives in for sharpening and got them home and started using them it was as though a few of them weren't sharpened at all. I mean they were dull. A sharp knife should not have to be used as a saw to cut a ripe tomato. It should slice smoothly. Cutting any vegetable not to mention anything else was a chore and annoying since these should be freshly sharpened chef's knives. The son's attitude was not professional and does a disservice to his mother's business. Maybe a little instruction on customer service is needed or maybe he just doesn't appreciate that someone who cooks and has spent large sums on professional knives needs sharp ones. Perhaps this is because he comes across as more of a microwave meal type of guy. read more

Is your flax grown in America, have you personally visited with the farmers who are growing it? I was buying direct from a grower in N. Dakota, but the shipping was very expensive. When I start producing higher quantities I will start buying from them again. Right now the flax I get is from Canada. I buy it from a distributor I am taking a trip to North Dakota to meet with a company that I used to buy from this summer. I would love to work with them and keep it in the US. There's been a mini-explosion in bakeries featuring cupcakes, is there a possibility of the same for your muffins? I sell more to the markets rather than the bakeries. I am the only one that offers a mix with bran and flaxseed in a dry mix. I sell the dry mix that you have to add milk, eggs, and oil, but there are bakeries that are interested in carrying my mix. I went in to buy individual bundt pans to bake Christmas whiskey cakes but instead I was introduced to individual paper/plastic bundt pans. You can bake in them directly so no fuss or clean up. For whiskey cakes, they leaked the sauce so they had to be wrapped in foil. But the store is great And the people were so accommodating and helpful, what a fun place to shop read more

My wife and I took a cooking class with Chef Gavin about cooking with cast iron. Not only did we learn a lot and enjoy very delicious food, but the Kitchen Kitchen team were kind enough to help me 'revive' the cast iron skillet I've 'mistreated' over the last two years that I brought in with me. We also had the pleasure of meeting Jan and Gary, the owners of Kitchen Kitchen, who are some of the loveliest and friendliest people we've EVER had the pleasure of meeting. By the time we left, my wife and I felt as if we were practically saying goodbye to close family relatives that we've known for years. This is the cutest little kitchen store I've come across since moving to the coachella valley. Its a tiny store sort of hidden in a little shopping strip but is to die for. They are JAM PACKED with every kitchen tool, gadget, and trinkets you can think of. From floor to ceiling there's so many cute things you'll want to buy the whole store. Attached to the store they also have an actual kitchen where they provide cooking classes and you can even book your own private event with you and your friends. We were vacationing in Palm Springs and found this awesome little gem of a shop through Yelp. We needed a birthday gift for a friend, and wow, how happy we found Kitchen Kitchen! The employees were very helpful and friendly, and the owner, Jan, was wonderful. They have all kinds of kitchenware, books and gourmet jarred items. There's a full working kitchen in it as well, where we met Chef Woody, cooking up samples. The kitchen is cozy and you feel like you want to hang out there all day. Chef Woody made some delicious pasta and later, strawberries with amazing balsamic glaze. Our 7 yr. old son was in heaven. We found several great items for the gift we were looking for, too. I placed a phone order that required some follow-up. The owner Jan was just the best. She has a great personality and truly aims to please. I ended up going into the store because I really did just want to wander around. This place is a not only a chef's paradise, but so fun for a starting cook, too. I bought some hard-to-find utensils and the most adorable tortilla covers that will keep them warm. Kitchen Kitchen is packed wall to wall with so many varieties of everything from zesters and thermometers to cast iron pans (of many sizes!) and garlic presses and peelers. I had such a good time while Jan wrapped the gifts I had picked out in beautiful paper, with bows. Who does that anymore?!! This place even has egg cups! I was so nostalgic thinking about my dad eating a boiled egg every morning. They even make their own notepaper pads--you can ask them to make up something special with a saying, or they have initial pads that make great hostess gifts (back yards gatherings still can spur gifts!)
