I do not recommend Kitchen and Flooring Concepts. Though Bill did attempt to 'fix' most of their mistakes, I deal with some of their poor workmanship every day. Please reference the photos.
This project involved the demo and remodel of two full bathrooms and the installation of floor tile and carpeting.
While they did a few things well, their work in significant areas was not done well. For example, they installed several jaggedly cut tiles on the shower wall and every-third step throughout the house lands on un-flush floor tiles, many of which make a hollow sound when walked on with heals. The tub skirt (they told me which tub to purchase) is crooked, not secured at all at the top and secured at the bottom with nothing more than gobs of caulk stuck to the new tile floor. Their muriatic acid cleaning attempt stained the grout in both newly tiled shower walls, one of which Bill 'fixed' by covering the grout with a paper-thin coat of 'Grout Renew' (normally used to hide old, stained grout) and the other of which remains stained and spotted despite several efforts to fix it (including a full acid wash). The grout lines cracked from ceiling to floor in all corners of both showers, which Bill fixed with caulk, introducing yet another color to the grout(s). They used a chunk of caulk in place of a small piece of floor trim and sharp carpet tacks are poking through the new carpet in the thresholds, so I must keep hammering them down.
In addition, numerous problems were caused during demolition. The demo crew never used drop cloths and destroyed part of my carpet, scuffed up both new toilet seat lids and scraped part of the inside of the new tub with their tools. Someone covered one of my Nordstrom tops with glue and shoved it into the triangle section of a hanger in the bedroom closet, they turned on the A/C during the demo which filled my clean vents with filth, left 40+ greasy hand prints on my recently-painted walls, created several nail pops and two Sawzall holes in adjacent rooms, removed a door stop so the doorknob made a hole in the wall, filled the toilet with paper towels, dented my new refrigerator, dinged up the front of my new washer and got grout on my new sofa (which I'd kept covered with a taped-up plastic drop cloth). This damage could only have been caused by Kitchen and Flooring Concepts because no one else has moved these items since they were delivered new only a few months earlier. Bill had someone spackle the holes made, but they did a poor job and I had to fix their work, scrub all the handprints and re-paint several walls. For these reasons I do not recommend Kitchen and Flooring Concepts. read more
