    Sushi in Vienna!
    Rob K.

Fantastic find in Vienna. Steps away from several UBahn stops, walking distance from the Hilton Plza. Reservations accepted and table was ready. Service is a bit slow - you will need to flag down servers along the way no big deal. But the kitchen and sushi bar has their timing down and the food delivery speed is well above average. On to the food. Outstanding preparation and flavors. Fish fresh. The maki pieces are cut quite large not precise and more than a mouthful. But the flavors work well and everything tastes fresh. The skewers were the star. Some of the best, even compared to Japan. The place was packed out on a Monday night so make reservations.

My sister and I were craving sushi while I was visiting in Vienna. We found Kitcha online and couldn't get a reservation til later that night. I am so happy that we waited it out and went there. The sushi was amazing. We got the appetizer sampler and I'm so glad that we did because we wouldn't have been able to choose otherwise. The spicy edamame is great. We ordered a couple of rolls to share. The spicy tuna roll was unlike any I'd had before. I wish I could find something like it back in the US!!! Highly recommend Kitcha for a great atmosphere and sushi!

Very good. The closest to "California" style sushi we have had in Austria. Very good miso soup, tuna tartar, and rolls. Very happy.

I'm a little confused because most of these dishes are heavily Korean inspired, but there's no mention of it. The website and menu describe the food as being "Asian fushion" and also Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese. I will say, to their credit, that it was all very inexpensive, and the food was a refreshing and welcomed change from eating Austrian food for days. I had the pork belly buns and beef kimchi tacos. Both were okay, not amazing. The buns were better than the tacos, which had barely any meat or kimchi in them. They have a limited menu, and are mainly a take-away establishment. They have 3 crammed tables. If you're in the area and are having a really specific craving for Korean food, check it out. Otherwise, there are probably better food options in naschmarkt.

This small pan-asian global fusion restaurant is just across from the naschmarkt and they do suffer from some of its touristy inflation. I got the Jianbing (crepe on the right) and the hashimaki (on left. They both cost about the same but the Jianbing is easily twice as filling but half as portable. This place was a nice stop to satisfy my craving for asian streetfood but not someplace I'd go if I was only in town for a day or two.

We walked in and were told we could stay downstairs and eat, or go upstairs and try that restaurant- which was more sushi based and Asian infusion. We decided to go upstairs as the food sounded delicious and the views of the cathedral were amazing. We were seated quickly and ordered spritz's and wine. The menu all sounded amazing, but my friend and I both decided to get the build you own stir fry with chicken. The food was delicious and fresh, and it was definitely nice to eat after eating a lot of bread and cheese throughout our trip :) The server was wonderful and so helpful. We were so happy to end our day here on such a great note!

No Watered down, hotel pan-Asian fusion restaurant with a partial view of the cathedral. Shockingly included in the Michelin guide, despite the many, many red flags of being a hotel pan-Asian fusion restaurant in Vienna. Service is relatively slow, so allocate ample time. Standouts (positive and negative): Pea and Mint soup (4/5): Tasty and came with a small, cheesy gougere-y bonus. Baby spinach salad with caramelized eggplant (0/5): Aggressively dressed (WET) spinach with a few small chunks of eggplant scattered throughout. After some attempt to scrape the immensely salty miso dressing off each leaf, we gave up and pushed aside the 21€ salad.

However, when we got there they said their kitchen was backed up and that we'd have to wait at least 30 minutes. Instead, we looked online, crossed the road, and found this place within a block. This is a no-frills Chinese eatery. They have 3 - 4 tables along each wall as you enter. There is a central aisle that takes you up to the counter for to-go orders. The staff is all Chinese. They provided a menu that had a mix of Chinese, German, and English. We were thus able to find a few dishes to share. Three of us split some noodles, fried dumplings, and one or 2 other dishes. We were hungry enough to finish everything. It was quality food. Prices seemed fair. They seemed to do a steady stream of take out as well as what appeared to be locals just stopping in briefly for a bowl of noodles or the like. If you like Chinese food and are just looking for something simple and quick, this is a good choice.

Actually more than that because it has Szechuan, Shanghai, and Cantonese dishes on the menu in the Chinese section. (I sure hope that as people in Vienna get more sophisticated in their Asian tastes, restaurants can specialize in one cuisine instead of trying to cook several.) Now saying all this, the Szechuan dish that I ate here was very good. It was the famous Gan Bien and the strips of dried beef were cooked and flavored nicely. The menu indicated that the Gan Bien would be spicy (scharf) but I learned long ago that scharf in Vienna is not really scharf for a Philadelphia guy. So I ordered it Super Scharf with a side order of hot chili sauce. The waitress was great. She did exactly as I asked and the homemade chili sauce was totally excellent .... and hot. I added it liberally and enjoyed a really nice, spicy, and tasty Gan Bien. Next time I will go to Kiang with friends so we can share and try multiple dishes including the classic Dan Dan noodles. I did like the service here very much .... and even if the dining room is rather plainly decorated, the serving staff added a nice warmth.
