This place was practically outside the door of our room on Germanic. We went there last night, had some beers and light dinner. The food was acceptable, but we felt we were treated like red-headed step children (My apologies to all of the red heads and step children out there!) No one was seated anywhere near us except that one couple was seated near us. They quickly got up and left the restaurant . The servers seemed to draw straws as to who would have to bring us another beer or more water or deliver our food. We spent at least 60€ there last night. We are an older couple in our early 60's and treat everyone with respect and kindness. We were not loud or obnoxious in any way. We went back tonight and were told there were no tables available downstairs, although at least 8 were empty. Outside we were told the same thing and to try inside. Again, several open tables. I say again, I recommend you stay away from this restaurant as they seem to profile and quietly, but not subtly, discriminate based on nationality.

I mistakenly ordered one I didn't want but it worked out well because the pizza here is so good, I don't think you can try a bad one. The owner (I think) cuts the pieces into nice sizes for you after he heats up the pizza. I loved the way it was served. He is really proactive at cleaning tables. I'd eat here again and again if I could. Super good.

This pizza/pasta/salad counter has a few seats and brisk turnover. Not looking for anything too heavy, I went with a Sicilian salad and a suppli (a fried rice and cheese croquette, basically a Roman arancini). The salad was better than expected, with tuna, mozzarella, olives, corn, and tomato over greens in a light vinaigrette with a wedge of homemade foccacia on the side. The suppli was greasy and heavy, but satisfying. Service was hectic, but this is a decent spot for fast food.

The main distinguishing feature I recall here was that a fair percentage of the staff was from the Phillipines (though they may have been in Rome for a long time). Also, their wines were only sold by the 1/2 liter, liter, or bottle (not by the glass). We got the standard table bottle of still water. Honestly, a lot of the Italian restaurants where we ate ran together in terms of what dish I got where. The pastas were almost uniformly good, so it is hard to recall. I may have gotten lasagna here. Whatever I had was pretty good. I do not recall anyone in our party being dissatisfied with the meal. The location was a block or so of the Via Nazionale, in the direction of the Termini Station.
