Little local gem. Food here is consistent. The staff is always friendly. Nice place to grab a burger and and a shake.

Always loved Kismet, but they are declining rapidly seems to me. I don't know what changed, but we ordered a Gyro plate and half of it was like leather, fries were stale. Sure seems the meat was old mixed with new. I called and talked to Mike the owner, whom by the way was working behind the grill and they apologized and replaced the food, but I am done with them until they step up their quality. Two trips, one Gryo plate, full price! Waste of our time. Mike, you're not that great right now! Good luck! read more

My husband I ordered a patty melt and a meatball sandwich and fries and were amazed at how good the food was. We normally eat at sit down restaurant bit didn't want a lot of food, so I opened YELP and found this gem. The people are very friendly and the prices are reasonable. BTW, they don't skimp on the food. My only complaint is that the place was a tad cool, but warmer than the majority of the restaurants we eat at during the winter. This used to be my favorite place. However the last two times I went for takeout the food was bad. Overly greasy and very heavily salted. Both times I got home and there were things ordered not in the bags. Just not good anymore in my opinion. Once is ok twice and I'm out. read more

This place is your classic old school type of fast food restaurant. It is clean inside and as a matter of fact I usually see an employee cleaning something every time I am there. The quality of this fast food is better than any of the places of this type around the area to be sure at least for me. The dogs are very good. The burgers are good as is the gyros. The beef sandwich is decent as well. As with most fast food joints anywhere you get frozen fries but fresh cut is hard to find anymore. But the fries are ok also. I can certainly recommend this place if you have a taste for this type of food. Decent prices and good service is also a plus here. I keep coming back when in the mood. read more

I've been to all three Kismets I know of in the SW area. Never had a bad experience. Wide menu variety, daily specials, true Greek-style Chicago hot-dog fare. Pretty much the only such option on rt. 30 for good greasy Chicago blue-collared cuisine. Would have gotten five stars, if the costs were just a little lower. Best gyros around! The junior is just enough for me for lunch but get the gyro plate with a coupon and it's only about $7, I can easily get 3 sandwiches out of it! I ask for one extra pita and sauce. Call ahead for faster service. read more

I stopped here on the recommendation of my hair stylist. I had a yen for soup and she said get a gallon because it's delish. She was right. I forget the choices but I wanted something light because frankly I had a colonoscopy scheduled the next day and wasn't looking to fill up on anything heavy. I can't say by any means this place is the thing to write home about, but the food is fairly good. The prices are in line with just about any other place in its class. The restaurant is very dated and could use some updating. Since I've never actually eaten inside in the usually take the food home, I can't complain too much. My usual go to would be a euro plate. Sometimes the meat seems a bit overcooked, but most the time it is on par with any other place. The burgers are basic, the hotdogs are about the same. I'm pretty sure the fries are from Jewel-Osco. The owner does seem to work the shop every day, and has developed a rapport with his customers. That alone deserves an extra star bringing my total to four out of five stars. They have a customer for life for as long as I live around here, but I wouldn't go the distance otherwise. read more

Kismet is a wonderful place to eat! Its quick and a delicious restaurant. It has some of the nicest workers ive ever seen and i appreciate that. Its very clean, foods great, and i recommend 100%. I have been to many restaurants that disappoint me and i say the truth but this place is probably one of my favorite places to go with my friends after school.
