Delicioso, buena música, las mejores alcapurrias, buen patio para comer con sombrillas.

Wide variety of fried fritters. Lobster, cod fish, beef, chicken, etc made from scratch right in front of you on a wood fired grill. Freshly made fruit drinks Big crowds. Plenty of parking. The biggest negative though is I had to wait half an hour for a lobster alcapurria. Not really worth the wait to be honest.

This place is way out there as a busy roadside food kiosk with smoke fuming in the air but it's by a long strip of beach that is a relaxing place to take a stroll before or after your indulgence. The service was relatively quick despite some language barriers, but my elementary level of Spanish served me well. The food was very oily and I'd say it was decent for what it was. I enjoyed the bacalaito and the alcapurria de jueyes, but it wasn't the best I've had. The size of the bacalaito as well as the amount of filling within the alcapurria was surprisingly generous. The birds/chickens walking around all over the tables kind of was a turn off in terms of cleanliness. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but if you happen to be in the area and want a quick snack then this would suffice.

The best alcapurrias in PR. Period. Bar none. Huge and made to order. Bacalaitos and abunch of other PR comfort ffoods all worth the trip to Piñones. Go now.

The kiosk

Authentic Puerto Rican food. You are not going for the service or ambiance. The people that run it have no time for the BS. Order, step aside and wait to be called. But the food was so delicious.

The food was amazing! Definite recommend! The alcapuurias, bacalaitos fried to perfection

This place was super busy and the smoke from the grill made us pull over and try it out! The food was okay, lacked a little in seasoning for my taste but overall I liked the experience. The place looks super authentic and I was having a hard time choosing what to get because everything smelled so good! Oh they have shark shish-kabobs too, wish I would have tried them! Next time!

This place is the bomb diggity! The down-to-earth ambience offers an authentic cultural experience while delivering fresh-off-the grill Pinchos (kabobs), golden fried, meat-filled delicacies, such as pastelillos, alcapurrias, arepas, and tacos. Not just any tacos! These are enclosed, deep fried tacos with your choice of meat, ranging from carne, camaron, pollo, jueyes, y mas. The tacos and kabobs were my absolute favorite, along with their delicious Piña Coladas... OMG, so good! We arrived around noon to a short line that became very long a few minutes after our arrival. Ladies in the small, green cookhouse efficiently took our orders, and I must say, the prices were the best. We ordered so much food and our order still came out to no more than $37 for two people. The delivery of orders are delved out based on when the item is finished cooking, so expect your name to be called a few times to retrieve the fresh and hot items individually. I saw an American couple seething with anger as they didn't understand what was going on... don't be that person. This place isn't a fancy, schmancy restaurant, just chill people doing their job, serving quality food to both PR residents and tourists. All while by the beach. Nothing special about the parking or restrooms, and all seats are outside. With that said, this is the type of food establishment you recommend to God.

Place is great. Good authentic fritura from PR. This place is in Piñones, many to choose from. But you cant go wrong with this one. I had many plates, check out my pictures. Las Alcapurias were very good. Bacalaito was insane, big and tasty, full of flavor. Also had the Baso del Pulpo, it was also great. You cant miss out on the Medalla to go with any of this food. Definately will go back and recommend this place.

Pastelillo Carne

This place has tons of grill smoke coming out from its kitchen. Smelled amazing, so we had to pull over. It was good, not great. My favorite thing I tried was the Pastelillo, basically an empanada but was very soft. The Arepa was extremely hard that I couldn't eat it and the flavor lacked on the chicken for me but overall was a great experience and good lunch. Service was good just was very busy!!

alcapurrias made fresh...Yummy

The alcapurrias (fried fritters) are great here. Not salty and cooked to perfection. I'm from NYC and visited PR as a boy. This is what I remember as a child the fresh smell of these awesome appetizers. Made to order this is the real deal. Don't waste your time elsewhere. You can try the Rest but this is the Best!

Roadside food kiosks selling authentic Puerto Rican food and frituras with the beach across the road-YES, I'LL TAKE IT! Now, when we pulled up the line was long but they have the area covered so you're not under the beaming sun while you wait for your fried goods. My advice is you grab a drink from the bar and take deep breaths of the deliciousness in the air. They have frozen Pina Coladas and Gasolina drinks, beer, soft drinks and your regular well-drinks. Very little vegan or vegetarian options but that's expected. They do have rice and beans and plain Alcapurria's you can purchase. Make sure you get the pique (hot sauce) for 25 cents. SO GOOD! FRIENDLY REMINDER: Please remember where you are and check your expectations!! You are not at a 5-star restaurant. Hell, you're not even at a restaurant!! You're at a road side kiosk ordering food made by locals and you're eating outdoors in the Caribbean!!! There are going to be flies, stray dogs and chickens, dust and car fumes. Be present, enjoy the moment and your vacation!

Tiny little spot along the road. Everything is made to order and it's a bit slow for what you would think would be pretty quick. It's worth the wait though. They don't seem to speak much English, so just make sure to order in spanish. Stood around waiting for my order among the locals. Weren't many people there at the time but I'm sure its busier on weekends when people are at the beach. The carne (meat) alcapurria was awesome - bursting with flavor and perfectly hot, crispy outside and soft inside. The camarones (shrimp) pastelillo was larger than expected and had big whole shrimps in it. Both were seasoned well and a great snack. I would stop by again and order more next time I visit. Not much parking here and the road is narrow. A truck driver had pulled off to get a meal and took up half the road and kept his noisy truck on. We ended up parking in someone's driveway so I ordered while my mom stayed in the car in case she had to move it.

This was a super random stop and we didn't really expect much out of it, but ended up utterly and pleasantly surprised by how fantastic the food was here. This is a simple food stand with outdoor seating that sits out front of a husband and wife's property. There is some room just inside the gate too to park your car. The wife was really friendly and is the one that cooked up our food for us. I got the chicharrones de cerdo (pork belly), which was served with name and other starches, along with macaroni salad. The macaroni salad wasn't anything special, but everything else was absolutely superb. We had already eaten a lot of starches while in Puerto Rico and had been dying for some ketchup to douse it all in up to this point. The lady at La Parada cooked up the starches in a delicious way that didn't have me desiring for a condiment - it was delicious. The pork belly was also excellent. It's definitely not a health food, but is more than worth the calorie splurge. My husband got the guanimes with bacalao. The guanimes, a sort of corn concoction, were really good. The bacalao (shredded fish) was also pretty darn good. We tried out Mavi for the first time ever as well, which is a sweet fermented drink. Worth a shot at least once in your life. Of all the food we had during our week in Puerto Rico, this place is definitely a stand out. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
