I'll keep this review short and sweet. An amazing sandwich, highly recommended by locals, they were super quick despite being busy, and very reasonable prices. I also love the story that they developed from one single foodtruck to having multiple locations. Definitely come here for some bomb late night food

Junior Churry - Mixto

The first good thing about this place is that it is open late, while most places close early. I ordered the mixto junior churry and churry fries. I'm not exactly sure what each item contained but it was really good. The sandwich was my favorite. The bread was super soft and the sandwich was packed with many different flavors and even textures from the meat and crispy potato sticks. The fries were also good but it may have had too much toppings--which I never thought I would say. I think the fry to toppings ratio was a bit off, so you didn't get to taste the fries as much. It was a bit oily as well. But overall really good late night food.

Shortly after arriving in San Juan, we headed to get a late night snack at El Cherry. Made popular by Man vs. Food and Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, the mixto sandwich is the thing to get. Open until 4am, the truck was bustling when we arrived just before 2am. The line moved relatively fast with the majority of people ordering their famous sandwich, some with accompanying fries. The price of the sandwich - $4.26 for the junior and $6.28 for the regular - includes a drink with your choice of water, juice, or soda. My friend loves this place so given all that I had heard, I was expecting this to be the best sandwich I'd ever had. It wasn't. That honor still goes to Paseo's Cuban roasted pork sandwich in Seattle or the muffuletta at New Orlean's Cochon Butcher. While the mixto sandwich wasn't the most amazing thing I've tasted, it was unique. Sweet Puerto Rican bread was filled with chicken and steak - both of which had no flavor - lettuce, tomatoes, potato sticks, and the mayo-ketchup mixture. The bread was great, soft and sweet, yet sturdy enough to handle the toppings and I loved the addition of the potato sticks. I'm not a mayonnaise fan so they were kind to add just a little of the mayo-ketchup mix to my sandwich. I washed it down with an orange lime juice. 3 stars for me this go round. I may try the other truck or the brick and mortar shop on my next visit.

Food: Churry Mixto - chicken and churrasco sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, and thousand island-ish sauce topped with potato sticks. The sandwich bread is sooo good; it's warm, sweet, and fresh! 5/5 Service: I almost always have to wait in line here but it's worth it! Final thoughts: Best late-night, drunk food! This is my go-to spot after a long night out. It really hits the spot.

Thank the island gods that we stumbled here. I had saw this place recommended but wasn't sure where the truck would be so I gave up. This truck, I believe, is perm stationed in Carolina. I didn't see the address but it's down the road from Casa Dante. I ordered the Junior Mixto and split it with a friend because we literally just had dinner before but couldn't pass up the opportunity. The junior size is about 4 inches? It's not big but I would say it's good option for someone who is hungry but not hangry. Our Mixto with everything and a soda came to a total of $5! How can you say no? First bite after the unwrapping...what in the world!? The bread is SOOOO soft. Like you would think it would be crunchy or what not, so it is soft like pillows! The goods on the inside....wow! JUST wow. The chicken and the beef, delicious!!! Simple and juicy! And man, I freaking loved the potato sticks! It added the crunch and the taste I went back on Monday and sadly they were closed and normally I don't wanna eat at the same place twice on vacation but this was going to be a dinner back home on the plane :(! So sad!! A must try when you are here!!

Chicken wrap- junior size, because it is the size of a normal size burrito back in Washington.

Delicious truck food. Choice of Sandwich or wrap with various meats (steak, chicken, veggie) in a junior or normal size. I ordered the junior size wrap because I saw someone in front of me order the normal size and it was about three of my fists big or about the size of a Mondito burrito at Taco Del Mar. Inside, to my surprise was ketchup. I opted out of getting mayo- which would have toned down the ketchup flavor. The ketchup flavor wasn't bad, probably sure to their also being potato chip sticks in the wrap too. It was like eating a cheese burger meal plus fries all in one wrap. I appreciated the fresh lettuce and diced tomatoes inside the wrap too because it made if feel more healthy.

So I finally made it to El Churry. Three of us watched the Redskins win the NFC east title at Lupis and decided to celebrate with the one and only mixto. We ordered one each and devoured them with a quickness. From the juicy meats and crispy potato sticks to the sauce made from the tears of angels it was everything I hoped it would be. Please note we have been looking to hit this spot for years. Well worth the wait!!

Busy food truck!

Since El Curry food truck made it to TV on Man Vs. Food, it's grown to six locations including a brick and mortar restaurant. I tried the food truck at Isla Verdes. The brightly green colored truck sits in a private lot with outdoor seating, a parking lot and a couple of clean, new restrooms. It also has a drive-thru on the back side of the truck. (pretty creative) The offerings are pretty simple. A beef or chicken or combo wrap or sandwich. You can add cheese and bacon too. And that's about it. Both have the same ingredients so you go with the combo. Go ahead and splurge with the bacon and cheese. This unique sandwich is very tasty. The meats are seasoned deliciously and the unique texture of the sandwich comes from crispy French fries inside. The original sauce tops it off. My only complaint would be the cheese is plain American slices. The price is inexpensive and it gets busier as the night goes on. Sitting on the cruising strip, this is a cool place for late night eats while people watching. Parking is easy in their lot

Trpleta. Chicken, skirt steak, potato sticks, and ketchup. Yum!

Not my thing. I'm not a fan of Mayo and this had Mayo Ketchup mix that many enjoy. Food was plentiful. Again just not my thing.

Amazing food at amazing price. The line can get long but the wait is worth it. Best food we had on the island during the week we were there.

I found this place on Yelp and it looked very pretty; it was perfect for a tranquil start to the day. We called them to inquire about parking and whether this place was open to the public or if it was just for hotel patrons. We parked in the hotel lot and it is open to the public. They did have a person at the counter who could take our order with a menu above their head, but they also had kiosks. I chose the kiosk because it's less pressure; I was allowed to browse the full menu at my pace without feeling the pressure of someone behind me trying to place their order. I was torn between the iced matcha and the iced chai. I went with the iced chai with whipped cream (+$0.50). They ask for your phone number and text you when your order is ready. While we waited, we used the bathroom, which was on their patio area around the corner from the building. On our walk there, we noticed all the plants and greenery they have, both on the wall and around the perimeters of the tables. The bathroom was spacious and clean, but no stalls, just one. I liked that they had seating indoor and outdoor (both regular and high tables) but it was such a good day to not sit outside. The outdoor seating is completely shaded. We sat down at one of the corner areas. After about 10 minutes, our orders were ready. The ice chai was delicious! It had a subtle mocha flavor, with subtle taste of spices, and was very creamy. Halfway through, I needed more ice so I got some from their vending machine. When we went to validate our parking ticket, it came out to about $1.50 which wasn't bad for the hour + we were there.

Review #1,052 Posted on 5.1.26…read more We came here for coffee on Saturday morning April 25th. This spot is located at the bottom of the Residence Inn in Isle Verde. This place is super nice, it reminded my wife & I of Porto's a bit. They've got both indoor & outdoor seating. We ordered their classic coffee with coconut, called the Coqui. Now the place is awesome atmosphere, good drinks, good food, but it took way too long to get our order, amateur hour as far as that goes. It took them 45 minutes to get our coffee & food out, and we're not talking a four course meal chef Ramsey prepared, it was literally 1 breakfast sandwich. We weren't alone either, countless people waiting for a very long time with us, I don't get how it could get you that point to be honest. They had at least 10 workers back there, I could see 10 minutes, even 15, 20 is pushing it, but 45? Coffee & sandwich were good, but nothing special and for sure not worth the irritation that sets in when you're left waiting to that degree. I thought of giving this place higher marks because it's a very nice establishment, clean, lots of places to sit, and nice atmosphere, but they earned this 2 spot they're getting for the experience I had.
