We flew to San Juan, P. R. during Memorial Day weekend, rented a car and explored the island. The second day, we stopped by Church's Chicken and ordered mild crispy chicken, mild mashed potatoes, honey biscuit, and corn on the cob. Delicious! Even better than in the States. Fast food that tastes good and is a good price in Isla Verde area? This is a good option! I was a little overwhelmed as I'm not a confident Spanish speaker, but, I sifted through their online menu before I headed in there and that was very helpful! The online menu is in Spanish also But... there are pictures! This helped out a lot! I ordered from what I'm assuming is their $1 menu... it was actually $1.69 per item but for $9, I had plenty of food and it was pretty good! Most other reviews say the same thing. Service is very slow. There were five people in front of me but still took 15 minutes to get to the register. About another 15 times get the food. I got mine and people who ordered before me were still waiting on theirs. My review will square with the others about good quality. Biscuits are excellent and the bird is slightly above average. I came here because I had never had Church's Chicken breakfast. Although the menu is limited, it's exactly what you need. I ordered a ham, fried egg and cheese sandwich combo. I was not disappointed. The sandwich was huge and more than enough. What was most surprising is that they are using REAL brown eggs to make the sandwiches. I'm just wondering why we don't get this level of quality on the mainland. The potatoes that came on the side were seasoned well. If you choose apple juice, you get a full 16oz! All of this for under $4! I feel bamboozled by the prices I pay back home. I also feel hoodwinked by the Church's at home because they don't have breakfast. Okay, so if you've had Church's Chicken on the US mainland, you haven't had Puerto Rican Church's Chicken. First of all, there's a Church's Chicken on every corner like it's Starbucks in NYC and every single Puerto Rican hypes it up. So, we decided to try it out. It's a regular fast food joint, so expect fast food service (not CFA service, more like McDonald's service), but because it's Puerto Rico everyone is nicer, the service is just a little slower. However, the honey biscuits make every second you wait worth it. I honestly thought these honey biscuits were the best thing I ate in Puerto Rico all week. They melted in my mouth and we're just the right amount of sweet a gooey. The chicken was good too. Better than Popeyes and on par with KFC. But now I need to find a Church's close to home to find out if Orlando honey biscuits are as good as the Puerto Rican ones. I definitely recommend the trip just for the biscuits.
