    Menu...all in Spanish.

My friends and I visited the store location because the food truck was not open for business. The menu in the store is in Spanish and the offerings are different from the food truck menu. My friend ordered a BLT, but something was lost in translation because she got a flat bread sandwich with only bacon and plenty of mayo. On the other side of the store, there is glass encased business selling phone cards and cashing checks.

I tried the tripleta with pernil on mallorca and the yaroa with sweet plantains and pernil. I thought everything was good and the customer service was okay but I don't understand the crazy hype.

I got a mofongo relleno with chicken. It took about half an hour to receive my order and there were no other customers (1 star off). I thought the taste of mofongo was mediocre. Maybe I am just not that into savory plantains that make up the mofongo, but I like sweet plantains much more. I can see how this space can be a great hang-out with a large group of friends, but with the limited number of kiosks open and the long time to get my food, I was disappointed.

It is laid out so nicely and has just about anything you could want to eat and/or drink. It's a very vibey place and in an excellent area. We enjoyed trying a multitude of ethnic cuisines while here plus some delicious drinks and beer too. I wanna say that the arepa we had was one of the best things I've ever ate. The empanada was so good that my gf almost orgasmed lol The mofongo with shrimp was spectacular. The pizza we ordered to take home before closing hit the spot later that night. The beers were tasty and the mixed cocktails were banging. I could live at this place. Rent me a space so I can throw up a tent and live my life man lol Please check this place out for maximum pleasure. See you again soon... Sláinte,

The truck is ran by a really sweet young lady whose family is from Peru (hence the name)! She incorporates the Peruvian flavors into her dishes and they are dynamite. The shrimp ceviche had a good balance of the sour, salty, savory flavor and we loved the fried yams that it came with! They're almost like a sweet potato wedge, but has the texture of a yam. And when it's deep fried, it is so good! Be careful with the spicy sauce on the side if you can't handle heat, because it's pretty spicy! I also had my first churro here and I loved it! It had a crispy exterior with a chewy center. Although, the portions were a bit small for the price, everything here was really well balanced and I really enjoyed it.

This little food truck was a great substitute located just a couple of miles East of Old San Juan. Three of us split a pound of lechon, a small chorizo rice, and 3 empanadas (chicken, shrimp, and beef.) Our total came out to be just under $25. This was more food than we could eat. The lechon was delicious -salty, flavorful, meaty, and just the right amound of tenderness. Their tangy hot sauce was a grrat accompaniment. The empanadas were hot and flakey and just plain amazing. The rice was good, but pretty average. They had many other delicious sounding items on their rotating menu that we didn't get to try. Keep in mind they don't serve lechon everyday if this is what you are after. We came on a Saturday and they did have it. They have a facebook page en espanol that seems to be updated pretty regularly. The truck is located between the Shell gas station and the Iglesia Evangélica Luterana San Pablo. Look for a black trailer with a couple of shaded tables right off the Shell. Many people biked here as it's right along the paved pedestrian/bike trail that follows the water. Come check it out! You won't be disappointed.

El lobo is located right next to shell gas station which is great because you can buy beer/alcohol and bring it 15 feet away to el lobo and have yourselves dinner with drinks if you are on a budget. Add that with some lights hung up above and some good music and your set! The owners of el lobo are very polite and explains in detail the ingredients of each food listed on their menu for the day. We are so glad we found this place! I recommended to the owner to add themselves on Yelp so that others can experience this hidden gem!

The team at Lena Eh grills all the meats and breads over a flame, adding a nice smokiness the depth to the flavors. I wish I could have tried more food, but I only had room for the choripan. It was amazing, and I will definitely be stopping by next time I am in San Juan to have it again! It features a local grilled chorizo in buttery toasted brioche bread. Each bite was so decadent it was dripping butter and fat, but the super fresh and herby chimmichuri pulled each bite together and prevented me from feeling overwhelmed by all the fat in each bite of the choripan. The fries were pretty good, some with crisp, but not too notable by themselves. I hope to experience more of Lena Eh in the future!
