My sister raved about this place as she saw it on social media so when I came to town we had to hit this place up. The front of the business is super cute. Vibrant colors and Puerto Rico Representation. Inside the place it so cute and cozy. There is limited dinning space so I would recommend to make reservations. Here is what we ordered and loved : Drinks : jugos naturales mango, parcha and guanábana Eats: picadera platter which serves 3-4 ppl, alcapurria de yuca and jueyes, and good ol rice and beans.

Was a date night destination for my Mrs and I. However with the frigid temperatures in Brooklyn, we decided to order in with their local app. The food was excellent. Like many say, it was just like eating from my grandma's and titi's kitchen. The arroz con gandules was really good, nicely made. The alcapurrias were perfectly crisp, loaded with flavor and filling. The beef empanadas were great too, sorry I didn't grab a pic of them . Wife enjoyed the maduros very much. Now let's discuss the pernil. Nicely cooked, very well but slightly over seasoned but still very tasty. The texture was very likely fall off the bone style, so a lot of time and love was put into the pernil. But I'm guessing for time saving purposes in order to share, the pork was shredded, not something we actually do in our kitchens but understandable. Next time we get to go, hopefully we can get a nice piece of crispy skin. My original goal was for the Chuleta Kan Kan but was sold out so, next time. Food got to us in decent time, still nice and hot and prices were moderate but the food quality was well worth it. Keep up the great work, and hope to visit you guys in person when this cold spell breaks.

Finally went yesterday for lunch and tried them out. It's a small place but it's so nice. It has lot of Puerto Rico pictures and memorabilia, it felt like you are there instead of NY. The hospitality/customer service was great!!! The food was delicious, everything was sooooooooooo yummy! Definitely go try it, you won't be disappointed at all! Definitely will be going back!

If you're looking for truly authentic Puerto Rican food in Brooklyn, Kiosko 787 is the spot. This small but mighty restaurant has built a strong reputation for its incredible flavors and authenticity. That being said, because of its popularity and intimate size, it's highly recommended to make a reservation--especially on weekends. Even with a reservation, you might still have to wait, so it's best to come with grace and patience. The staff is small but hardworking, doing their best to accommodate everyone who wants to experience their food. Checking in is easy--you can tap in at the front, send a text to confirm your spot, and you'll receive a message when your table is ready. There's not much space inside to wait, so if it's cold, you may have to tough it out or find a nearby spot to stay warm. While waiting, you can browse their small selection of Puerto Rico-themed souvenirs, which add a nice touch. They also play videos showcasing the island, which is a beautiful nostalgic experience, especially for those of us who've been visiting Puerto Rico since childhood. Once we were finally seated, my aunt and I had already looked at the menu, so we were ready to order. I started with the Coquito Frappe--it was so good I had to grab another one to go. For my main dish, I went with pernil and arroz gandules, and when I say it was amazing, I mean AMAZING. Every bite was packed with rich, traditional flavors, and even though I was stuffed, I made sure to save some for later. I also treated myself to an alcapurria as a little appetizer, and it was absolutely perfect. Service was slow, but understandably so. With only two people handling everything--waiting tables, answering calls, and managing takeout orders--it's clear they are working as hard as they can. If you're planning to visit, just know that things move at a more relaxed pace, so don't have anything urgent planned right after. This is a place where you sit back, enjoy, and take in the experience. Final thoughts: Kiosko 787 is a gem. The food is beyond delicious, the atmosphere is warm and nostalgic, and while service takes time, it's well worth the wait. If you're in the area, definitely check it out--maybe try a weekday visit if you prefer a less busy experience. Either way, it's worth every bite!

Pull pork and Rice N' Gandules - A Puerto Rican Staple

The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes, but I opted for the pork with "arroz con gandules" and sweet fried plantains. I just have to say: this dish is delicious!!! I recommend pairing it with a natural "refresco de mango". Food delicious and great customer service! A pleasant atmosphere with Puerto Rican Latin music at a level volume, not too high.

Voicemail from the rude owner! Notice the so called 'bori' comment!

This place is absolutely terrible! I came here on my birthday, they said I had to reserve on OpenTable for an hour after which I did. I made the mistake of reserving for two instead of three and they told us we needed to wait another 45 minutes only to sit a Caucasian couple in front of us that seemed to have been asked if they had a reservation and nodded no, yet got seated immediately! I had a Puerto Rican cap on and am a nuyore rican and it was my birthday! The lady in the front made me feel outcasted, dismissed and disrespected! I could never have imagined that they would do this to people from their own culture!!! Shame on you! Update: I had to include and update because for some reason yelp will not allow me to respond directly to the owner. However, I felt that this was extremely important to post. Here is my response to the owners prior comment and proof of harassment and disrespect. And before you ask, I have it all saved on my phone for evidence: Fortunately for me, you do not know how to control your impulses and called me twice after the review. Once from the business phone, and once from a cell 'calling me a 'so-called Bori', also texted me calling me the Nuyorican self entitled type', a 'so called Boricua' and even wrote in a comment to not come back and to Vete Pa... and left me the room to figure out the rest. That is called harassment. Needless to say, I am extremely hurt by this ordeal. This is not the type of behavior that should be normalized coming from a business owner and a fellow Boricua. I am beside myself and needless to say, it will take a long time for me to get over being dismissed, disrespected and harassed all in the same night. And on my birthday nonetheless. I'm know that I messed up by adding 2 instead of 3 on OpenTable by accident, but that still did not warrant such a visceral response toward another human being because that is what we all are at the end of the day. Unfortunately, due to your lack of impulse control, that was totally thrown out the window yesterday. I will never come to this place again per request of the owner. Sorry to have drawn your ire! Update: Now you're making up lies that I was rude with your staff because she was standoffish as soon as we walked in. And if you were really paying attention, my colleague that was with me did the majority of the talking! You my friend have to be the most narcissistic person in Brooklyn because you have the audacity to flat out lie about someone instead of practice good decorum and good customer service!!!!! Lying about someone's behavior to distract people from the fact that you have terrible customer service is not going to work here pal!!! I wasn't originally trying to tear down your business, but you my friend do not deserve to have a business if you're going to treat patrons like this!!!! I implore the other patrons that gave you one star as well to ban together to shut you down!!!! Because you answered them just as rudely as you answered me on Yelp, however you made up a lie about me because I'm the one you couldn't bully into submission!!! Good luck with you're business because it will not last long due to your rotten behavior!!!!!

Pollo Guisado with White Rice

I came here with my friends on a rainy day, and let me tell you -- this food was exactly what we needed to turn the day around. We started off with drinks: two passionfruit juices and one mango juice. My passionfruit juice was so cold, refreshing, and bursting with flavor that I had to stop myself from finishing it in two gulps -- it completely hit the spot. Next up, we shared some pastelillos (two beef, one beef & cheese). They came out piping hot, golden, and absolutely stuffed with the most flavorful beef I've ever had in a pastelillo. A solid 10/10. For our mains, we ordered the Arroz Mamposteao De La Casa and the Pollo Guisado. The arroz was a beautiful medley of chopped sweet plátanos, beans, pork belly, and more -- every bite was a whole new experience, and it was to die for. But my absolute favorite was the pollo guisado: tender, fall-off-the-bone stewed chicken soaking in a rich, savory gravy. I'm drooling just thinking about it! To finish, we shared a tres leches cake, and let me tell you -- this is the first time I've ever truly enjoyed a tres leches. Creamy, moist, and not overly sweet... trust me, this is your sign to order one. The vibe of the place is vibrant and cozy, with colorful decor that feels warm and welcoming. Seating is a bit limited, so I recommend making a reservation if you can. Walk-ins are fine too, but you might have to wait a little. All in all, this was an unforgettable meal -- easily a 10/10 -- and I can't wait to come back and try even more. Even better, it's walking distance from my house! So happy to have this gem in the neighborhood. For more foodie gems like this, follow @blaze_eatsnyc on Instagram!

I decided to try Kiosko 787 and ordered a quesitos, plain Mofongo, shrimp Mofongo, rice, beans and tostones to go. It's a very cute spot - love the decor. We were bummed when we stopped at a rest stop on our way to MD that they forgot utensils and mayo ketchup (I paid for extra two more). We got some forks and started to dig in. The plain Mofongo was good and flavorful. However the rice was hard and the beans needed more seasoning. My husband wasn't a fan of the shrimp, but liked the sauce and ate with the Mofongo. The tostones were okay, but the garlics flavor sauce did it justice. Quesitos were okay. I will go back for the plain mofongo.

Stepping into this spot felt like being transported straight to Puerto Rico--specifically the heart of Luquillo Beach! From the moment you walk in, the decor, the souvenirs, the music, and the vibe wrap you in island warmth. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They made us feel right at home from the start, and the food came out impressively fast--no long wait times here! Every dish we tried was a 10 out of 10--flavorful, fresh, and true to authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. It honestly felt like a home-cooked meal straight from the island. One thing to note: the space is very small, so I highly recommend making a reservation before heading over. Walk-ins are tough, especially on busy nights--you might end up waiting or not getting a table at all. That said, they were able to seat our group of six on a Friday night thanks to a reservation, which was such a pleasant surprise. If you're in Brooklyn and craving a true taste of Puerto Rico, this place is absolutely worth the visit. It lives up to the hype and then some. A total gem!

Lunch for 2 about 70 bucks. Food was tasty. Chuleta cancan was great. Arroz con gandules was superb--just like my mom's. The mofongo was nice and tender and the chicharron add on for .75 cents gave it a nice flavor. Inside is small and cute with Puertorican decor and salsa music playing low in the background. Looks like it seats about 20. We went without a reservation and the tables remained full for the most part. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We received excellent service from our waitress.. Note: I left a negative review when they first opened but they are now definitely worth checking out.

The food and service were amazing! Our waitress, Aracelis, was sweet, kind, and incredibly attentive. She made sure everything was just the way we expected. We ordered the fried snapper, mofongo, and asopao--everything was delicious, and it truly felt like being back in Puerto Rico.

I was not going to mention the 1 hour wait but I have to. If anything, just so people are aware and ready. To wait an hour for a Cuban sandwich and 3 empanadas (to go) is a bit much. Just sayin, just sayin. Moving on! The place itself is cozy inside (apretao). The empanadas were average in taste to be honest. Reminded me of the Cuchifrito spots in Spanish Harlem. The Cuban though, was banging! I haven't had a Cuban this good in quite a while..definitely worth the wait on the sandwich. The owner was hanging out outside with his family and seemed like a nice guy with a great personality. Will definitely come back to try their other menu items.

Delicious , very flavorful meals and desserts.. would top it with a wines or bar drink which isn't available at this location. The ambience is A+ We felt at home with the staff and our server Aravelis B was so welcoming and top tier overall... The soverneir wall as you enter the restaurants are so tempting that we have to purchase a few for friends and family while dining in...

It was sort of an odd time so the spacious restaurant wasn't very busy. We studied the menu for too long and after much deliberation, here's what we ordered, in order of spice level: - Oxtail ($35): Not spicy, super flavorful, "Trimmed and sliced chunks of oxtail seasoned freely with fresh spices and simmered to tender perfection." - Curry goat ($29): Mildly spicy, "Goat meat marinated and cooked in curry spices and herbs makes this an exotic dish." - Jerk chicken ($20): Apparently incredibly spicy so I steered clear of it, "A Jamaican delight. Spicy, delicious chicken baked with this unique combination of spices from the island." The dishes I could handle were excellent, with no drop of sauce left unmopped. On the sides front, the rice and beans, roti, steamed vegetables, and plantains were all tasty. The entree sizes were hearty. Our server seemed like a cool dude: easygoing with a sense of humor. It was kind of chilly in the restaurant, not sure if we were in a warmth dead zone or what. The bathroom was frog-themed which was a cute touch!

The menu was both creative and authentic. The dishes preserved many African and Caribbean ingredients and flavors but transformed them into new takes on traditional classics. I especially enjoyed the Caesar salad with jerk prawns, the lamb shank, and the jollof rice. The only critique I have is the ambiance. We had the misfortune of sitting near a table of 7 who were engaged in a lively and unreasonably loud conversation that frankly disrupted the vibe. Every other table in the vicinity was clearly annoyed. One pair arrived and requested to be moved after hearing how much noise that table was making. When we asked the server to ask them to keep it down, he understandably declined saying that he would have to ask the manager to do that. The manager never came and the boisterous crowd table continued until we left. All the visual cues of the restaurant signaled that a certain level of decorum was practiced and expected , but ultimately it wasn't upheld. There were four of us, and we ordered the oxtail, pepper shrimp, akee and saltfish egg rolls, jerk chicken Caesar salad, goat puff pastry, and the mussels. Every dish delivered. I did not get to taste the mussels because my friend went completely silent and cleared the bowl so fast that I never stood a chance, which honestly says enough on its own. The standout dish for me was the goat puff pastry. I typically do not enjoy goat dishes, so I was genuinely shocked by how much I loved it. The flavor reminded me of the oxtail and was incredibly rich and satisfying. The jerk chicken Caesar salad was also amazing. The jerk had a nice kick without being overwhelming, and the balance of sauce and dressing was perfect. The biggest surprise for me was the akee and saltfish egg rolls.
