This was my first time visiting this salon after my salon temporarily closed for covid. I have been getting dip powder for 3years now primarily at the same salon. My salon seals the dip powder with dip powder while other salons (including this one) seals the dip powder with gel polish. I'm not a fan of gel hence that's why I stopped getting it, the finish for gel isn't as polished as the finish when sealed with dip powder. This salon is okay as a back up but I'll be going back to my original salon when they reopen. I'm slightly biased but I'm trying to give a honest review. Below are other pros and cons. Pros: beautiful salon, calming music, nice decor, organized and some what friendly staff, appointments required during covid to help spacing, staff wore mask and required them of guest. Cons: this is the type of salon that charges for every thing ($2 to cut down my long natural nails), my nail tech had her nails done and seems more interested in not messing up her nails then doing mine (not every tech had their nails done), not sure if they adequately cleaned the stations between clients, they used the electric buffer to take off dip powder which wears down nails instead of letting them soak In acetone, my tech didn't have gloves on. read more

This nail salon is killing the game, as always, and especially during COVID-19! I've been coming to this salon for years, long before it changed ownership and name. (Formerly Unique Nails.) It was lovely before, loved the staff and manager, but I've really really enjoyed my first two visits to this new salon even more! My first visit was a few months ago, pre-quarantine, and my second was last week just about two weeks after Montgomery county went into the green phase. The new owner is very sweet, and all of the staff I've met (especially Mei!) is so nice and provide excellent service. Both visits were equally great. This nail salon offers a variety of pedicure options. SO smart to have a cute little menu of options that you can look through while your feet are soaking. Also of course are several manicure options. I ONLY get SNS (the dip powder), it's the best deal. Dip never chips and stays looking perfect for easily 4 weeks. Also 6-8 if you don't care that your nail re-growth very much will show by then. :) I love love that they have a HUGE color selection of both gel and SNS. I've only been to one other salon in the area that offered SNS, as it's not super common here yet, and they only had like 10 colors. Kiora must have had 100 of both gel AND SNS options. Prices are in line with most salons in area, very reasonable I think. My SNS manicures run me $35, a basic/good pedicure runs about $25. I got a spa pedicure that was SO worth it, included a great exfoliation, hot towels, and lots of different oils and lotions for somewhere between $30-$35 (so sorry I can't remember). If you're reading this while Covid-19 is still going on because people can't wear a simple mask and stay away from large gatherings, Kiora does a very good job at keeping its staff and guests safe. All employees wear masks, require guests to wear masks as well, and they provide hand sanitizer as soon as you walk in. At least 6 other women were inside during my two hour appointment, not at one time but staggered throughout, and they were able to keep empty chairs in between each guest so no one was close to anyone else. read more

It's always so pretty inside and they have tvs playing Korean bakery videos that are so cute! They take their time to make sure everything is perfect. I've never left with a bad, bulky or "not what I wanted" set of nails. Very clean and relaxing. I don't trust anyone else honestly, I'm so picky about the shape and design but they are so patient and helpful when making the final decisions lol. The management at the new place is so talented and kind. Great choice of nail polish colors. The redesign of the salon is amazing (comfy couches and beautiful decor). So I had a manicure at Kiora. The ladies tend to give interest only to gel nails. For regular manicure they treat you to brush you off. So they gave me to the most awful tech they had. Not only she did mess up my skin around the nails causing it to bleed but when she was applying the color it came out bubbly. When i raised that issue to the main tech she was so unapologetic! She told me that they do not give any guarantees for non gel nails and basically if nail polish was bubbling there is nothing they could do, as for my bloody skin she said some people had thin skin so this is expected. I have been having natural nails manicure for decades and this is not normal. Shame on you guys! If I could give a negative star I would. Rude and unprofessional crooked hands work there! read more

I walked in at 5pm on a Wednesday afternoon and they were able to take me right away. I noticed that this salon is under new management and they changed the salon's ambience from a boring and dull atmosphere to being very chic, cozy, and welcoming. There was a great color selection, specially dip powder sns. Sydney, the tech that did my nails was very excellent. She gave me the exact shape that I wanted. I always get coffin shaped but the previous salons that I have been to always somehow made them uneven and crooked. Everyone was very friendly and sweet. The staffs were very welcoming and kind, they asked if I could wait around 20-30 mins for my walk in services, which I was fine with it because I had no where to go. The girl who helped me was wonderful, she helped me pick out my colors ( They have A LOT OF COLORS and I am extremely INDECISIVE) and assists me, make sure I'm happy with every steps of the services. I've gotten SNS powder a few times in the past by the local salons and they were always too thick, however, my technician did an amazing job and I absolute love my nails. My regular nail tech at another salon moved to California, so I was in search of a new one. After looking on the internet trying to find a qualified nail salon near me as well as a qualified nail tech, I stumbled across this place. The reviews mentioned the owner and Sydney does a good job. I called to make an appointment with them and was told that they were busy today and could do my nails Monday. I said ok, book it. She said the 16th at 5pm, I asked if they take walk ins and she said, No, only appointments. I said ok, book it, and who will be doing my nails... she said, all of our techs are qualified and you need to go somewhere else because I will be a problem if I come there. . I asked who I was speaking to, and she said she was the receptionist, so I asked for the manager. She said the manager wasn't there, so I asked to speak to the person running the salon, her reply was, I am managing the bookings and you cannot come here. If you are a problem on the phone then you will be a problem if you come here. I was floored. So just because I wanted to know who would be doing my nails, I'm going to be a problem. I am a middle aged woman who have been getting my hair and nails done consistently for 40 years, and I have never been treated in this manner or denied service from anywhere. I was being prejudged, I feel like I was being discriminated against. Black women have been patronizing Asian nail salons for decades, and if it wasn't for us, they would not be successful. I hope management read this review and understand that all black women are not ratchet. Many of us, like myself, are educated and professional. Hopefully, the next time we ask who will be doing our nails or ask for a specific nail technician, they will treat them with respect and kindness. Ladies, take heed, and go somewhere else. I have been coming to this place for years and have never once had a bad experience. Even during the pandemic, they were professional, clean, sanitary, and I felt completely safe. I pass around 10 salons just to come to Kiora because of their professionalism and how amazing my nails look every time. I have tried other salons in the past but not one can even come close to the quality that Kiora offers. Every tech is skilled, polite, and truly cares about each customer that walks through the door. I found Kiora a couple of months ago and am so happy I did. The techs are always friendly, helpful and they do an amazing job. My nails have never looked so good. I love designs and they are true artists! They are busy so you'll need to make an appointment. Unlike some other salons I've been to, they want to stay focused on their clients and give the best service possible. So if your walk in and all the techs are attending to customers who have appointments you will kindly and politely be asked to make an appointment.
