I really enjoyed visiting this place although I would not recommend if you are on your lunch break. Since majority of the food is cooked on site, by the time you sit, order, receive food, eat, and pay... you may use up more than an hr of lunch. With that said the food is great, they have really good pita and hummus. I decided to order a gyro plate, best choice! The gyro was cooked to perfection, I could have easily eaten more. I'm one to usually have leftovers, keeping that in mind there was nothing left to take home. I enjoyed the food, location is great and they offer parking. Since it is a newer location service could be better. The service is great except that it's 2 people running everything: taking orders, cooking, checking out, and they miss things. They have potential to be great but it is a lesser known spot and I'm really just hoping it lasts and stays open. I love Mediterranean food and this is authentic and delicious. I found this hidden gem in mission, tucked away in the shopping center. It's hard to catch but trust me, you don't want to miss this sweet little place. If you're on the hunt for delicious Mediterranean food that is locally owned then this is the place for you. The owner is so sweet and has a smile on his face to welcome you right when you come in. He's place is cozy and there are delicious options to order, including a whole bakery section. I went for the chicken shawarma and it was flavored so well, with a side of hummus and bread that was incredibly fresh. I would have loved to explore more on the menu, but alas, I was in a rush. I had heard amazing things about this place so had to check it out. Their hummus and babaganoush is some of the best I've had. The falafel was excellent, too. Very airy. The vegetarian platter I ordered is easily enough for two or something to be shared as a delicious appetizer. I'm also pretty picky about my lentil soups and theirs is very good. I don't know that I would make the drive to go there on a regular, but when in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. There was only one waiter when I was there & I got the impression he was one of the owners. He was working hard and very attentive. I only wish I had tried the baklava so I guess that's another reason to go back! :) read more

The food was excellent and the owner was very nice. We had the vegetarian plate and the gyro plate. The pita bread and hummus were delicious. Very generous portions and the baklava at the end was legit! There was a help wanted sign on the door so I can see how the place might get overwhelmed when busy. I love Jerusalem Cafe and the food is definitely on par or slightly better. The prices are slightly better as well! My favorite place for Mediterranean food. Picked up or had food from there many times due to COVID, we've always been pleased. Tonight had the lamb gyros, the meat, veggies, rice, tzatziki and hummus are all good. My lady had the chicken kabobs and they were excellent. Nice chunks of chicken and veggies and the veggies have great seasoning on them. We had kibbeh and tried the chicken pie which is like a thin crust chicken pizza. This was our first time trying this and we were pleasantly surprised. This is a great place to try, good service, you won't be disappointed. read more

Throughout COVID, this has been our favorite takeout spot. Service is fast and food is fresh and delicious. It's nice to have a place with healthy choices that I'm excited to eat. They have my favorite fattoush salad ever, so I never skip that. We also love the beef kabobs which come with delicious vegetables. Also, don't sleep on the kibbeh. Tried out Kinzi for the first time today. It is a great Mediterranean local gem! The menu offered your basic Mediterranean fare, but definitely did not lack the flavor. The slices of gyro meat were nice and thick and melt in your mouth. I normally always get the lamb gyro, but tried my friends chicken gyro and was pleasantly surprised! Definitely ask for an extra side of tzatziki sauce. The hummus was fabulous as well!! read more

Great spot, they always come through. I ordered online while running errands by the restaurant, the app stated an hour and 20 minutes before it would be ready. My family enjoyed a Mediterranean and especially Greek food for lunch at this little gem. Not a chain - all homemade and authentic food. Staff was friendly and attentive. The Chicken Pie was EXCELLENT. The Veggie Platter has a more than a meal of samplings that were all very good and home made. Ihad the Mediterranean Salad and Shawarma Sandwich. The Salad was WONDERFUL and refreshing I enjoyed every bite and it was a meal by itself. I had the lamb on my Shawarma Sandwich. I loved the flavor and it was plenty meaty. But the meat was a little tough and chewy - which is the ONLY complaint any of us had and the reason for only four Stars. The family atmosphere was great and all the food was prepared fresh while we waited. While we were there a dozen or so people came in to get meals-to-go which says something about the food too. read more

Ok - take this one seriously because I live/work/eat out in this area almost every day. I would describe Kinzi as this - someone who cooks delicious food decided to open a restaurant with zero restaurant experience. Some of the items (hummus, salad, etc) are sooooo good and you can tell they were prepared by someone who knows how to throw down in the kitchen - easily some of the best I've had. But other items (gyro meat, pita, etc) were obviously purchased from a food distributor and that same person doesn't quite know what to do to make them appetizing. Plus the interior is depressing and they couldn't figure out how to take my credit card. And they are in dire need of help (2 people running the show and can't keep up). If it continues like it is, I sadly think it has about 6 months. I hope they figure it out because they do have SOME (key word) good ass food. Good luck! read more

My great grandmother was from Zakinthos, and she was an amazing cook. Because of her, I always get excited when I hear about a new Greek or Mediterranean place. Maybe I have high standards because of this, but this place just did not measure up. I got the veggie plate, and it was meh. Just meh. Have you heard that in Canada you can order a Mediterranean wrap at McDonald's? Because that's what this food made me think of. The spanakopita was so greasy that the phyllo dough became flimsy. The flavor was actually decent, though. The falafel was advertised as juicy, but it came out overdone and kind of flavorless. The grape leaves . . . plenty of people will probably like them, but there was a strong onion flavor I don't personally enjoy. The hummus was okay, however, and the baba ghanouj was actually pretty good. I also enjoyed the second basket of pita bread to come to our table. It was warm and soft as it should be. Atmosphere was fine. Music was a little too loud, but whatever. Service was decent. Just overall not impressed. I miss my yiayia and her delicious food. read more
