Returning from barrel race event Columbus today and had not been here for a few months...maybe that long. We both have requested the Omaha Rueben. Fries fodr me and salad for B. House made root beer just perfect. Our favorite food and drinks place around area. Actually...this was our only poor food experience ever here. Corned beef was tough and extremely chewy, small portion of mostly gristle. We couldn't chew it up or tear apart with fingers. Most unusual and poorest example any Rueben we have had. But 5 Stars anyway, for service from lovely lass. Thought she could have offered a comp discount for our sandwich choices. Not. One of the best restaurant/ brew pub in GI. Excellent ambiance. Classy from the top down. I visited with a party of five in a Tuesday evening. We were seated immediately. There are the ubiquitous issues regarding inadequate staffing but everything went well. I am a regular at Sideshow in Lincoln so I am familiar with the drink menu and I was a little put off when the bar tender didn't know how to make a Sazerac cocktail. So I settled for an Old Fashioned which was a little watered down. I guess they're a bit more skilled at just pulling beers. I ordered the Pulled Pork barbecue with Mac and cheese. It was tremendous. Very large portion. Prices were reasonable and I will visit again. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. read more

I don't leave bad reviews...but you know how a majority of the time the servers are having to make up for problems caused by the kitchen staff? Not here. The food is really great. In fact, it was well worth the wait. I loved the Chicken Stack and my guests loved the Pulled Pork Mac after our wait. I had the Pineapple Cinnamon Cider and it was good, especially after the wait at the bar and later at the table. The Cheese Curds were really good too as a desert because we had to get them even after asking for them twice after our main meal. So maybe they are in the wrong place on the menu. Kinkaider Brewing company is growing fast and for obvious reasons. Went to their Grand Island microbrewery on a weekday and had a great time. The ambience is old school with some nice historical facts hanging around, make sure to look for them. The wait was minimal, server was very friendly. Tried a couple of different beers and their seasonal Winter brew was exceptional. Ordered the Jalapeño poppers, a different touch, they are not fried, definitely worth trying. The Thai shrimp are very popular and do justify their popularity. Ordered a hamburger, and sweet potato fries. Hamburgers are thick and juicy and the fries are exceptional. Reasonably priced, great experience. Also tried the naked BLT, definitely worth a try if you are watching your carbs. Will definitely recommend this place in Grand Island. read more

Our waitress Kori is not only a sweetheart but she knows her stuff. We had the boneless wings with teriyaki sauce, the Spinach Dip AND Bayou Bowl. It all came out hot, great portion size and all delicious. The beers are all so good. I suggest getting a flight so you can have a little bit of each. But then you'll just want to take them all home. Came here for drinks and stayed for dinner. I had several of their beers and enjoyed them all. They will give you samples so you can try them out before getting a whole glass. They brought one of my party the wrong beer then argued when she tried to get the right beer instead. They miss delivered other people in my groups food. We sorted that out ourselves. And then the saddest part was my Cajun chicken flat bread that.....wait for it.... Contained no chicken! At that point I had no faith in sending it back. The whole thing was a bit of a disaster. We arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty crowded and were told a 30 min wait. We sat the bar to wait. I had a Moscow Mule and my husband had the 4 County Pale Ale. He said it was a good solid classic Pale Ale with the right amount of bitterness and floral notes. The Moscow Mule was a Moscow Mule. Light on the alcohol. We were seated in 15 minutes. I ordered the BLT with sweet potato fries and husband had the brisket Philly with onion rings. He said the Philly was good except the bread was floppy so he ate with knife and fork. The onion rings were divine. The BLT was a BLT. It cut the roof of my mouth up like BLTs like to do. The sweet potato fries were tasteless and made me remember why I don't order sweet potatoes fries. Husband ordered a Frame the Butcher IPA after we were seated and was not impressed. He says it didn't contain the notable finishing hops like most IPAs. Moderate bitterness. Strong taste of alcohol. (He also said it was an insult to IPAs-ed.) I read this over and it sounds like we didn't like it, but we did. They had a live band that was fun, mostly because they had a banjo. All bands should have a banjo. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly. The bartender was particularly great. Service was fast. Parking was a challenge. Downtown Grand Island looks like it might be fun. Lots of eclectic restaurants and bars. read more

The atmosphere was alright, the music was a bit loud but not to the point that I couldn't hear my family. The service was great as well. Definitely worth the stop if you are a gluten free person in the area. The menu points out what is and is not gluten free, which is a welcome plus for any brewery menu. My husband and I are driving from LA to NYC, and we were lamenting the dearth of edible food once you pass Denver. We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a go. We split the ribeye (medium rare), each had a side, and each ordered a salad (him the wedge, me the caesar). Everything was perfect. The ribeye had exactly the right amount of pink, and was fantastically seasoned. The zucchini (mine) and parmesian mashed potatoes (his) were also delicious. The biggest surprise was the caesar, which was served with the whole leaves, charred over the grill, and topped with red onion, caesar dressing, and copious amounts of parmesian. Our server (whose name I forgot, unfortunately) was delightful, and she went out of her way to ensure my meal was gluten-free, my wine (it's a brewery, but I have celiac) was dry like I like it, and we had everything we needed. Good drinks don't make up for bad service and long wait in an empty restaurant. Horrible experience I'll never go back. There was one other table filled in the entire place, and yet it took 25-30m for them to make a BLT. Even the onion rings app took 20+m and I ordered it immediately. It takes 3m or less to fry onion rings. There was at least 6 staff on, and they were super unresponsive. I had an empty drink on my table in clear view for 15+ minutes and no one stopped to say anything despite people walking by my table constantly. I had ordered something to go for my roommate and foolishly told them to wait to put it in, so then I had to wait another 20-30m for that. Food was bland and generic. BLT was ok, but the Reuben I ordered was kinda gross. All cheese, hardly any meat or sauerkraut, couldn't even taste the thousand island. Servers were friendly but awkward. I felt judged for ordering two meals for myself just so I could take something home. I left 5 pennies as a tip and I don't feel bad. Get some better staff. read more

I have to say that they did a top class job at making this place feel so comfortable. What a great venue. Denny behind the bar, top shelf. Beer, awesome selection. Menu looks great. Sit down for lunch at 2:00 and order a burger, medium rare, and get told by the waitress it will be well done "because they are busy". Drop $100 on lunch and drinks for four so someone can serve me a well done piece of sho leather because they're busy. Unacceptable wait staff. Too bad because this could be a destination gold mine. I was sent to this little town for a work training and let me tell you, Kinkaider Brewing was the last thing I expected to find. It was suggested by the front desk staff at the Best Western and it had good online reviews so we gave it a shot. I am from Reno where we have a new brewery popping up on every corner and I've also traveled to numerous outside of my own town. Kinkaider has the best brewery food I have ever had. I would come back to Grand Island just to eat here. We had been traveling all day and consumed all of one bagel and one in-flight complimentary bag of pretzels so we came hungry and they did not disappoint. My co-worker and I decided to do family style because the menu looked too good not to share so we could try more items. We got the jalapeño poppers, spinach artichoke dip and burnt ends Mac & cheese. The poppers: A ++++. Great quality ingredients. Dip: A, too creamy; needed more chunks of artichoke but VERY yummy. The chips tasted fresh as well. The Mac & cheese: quick disclaimer- this is my favorite food and is basically a food group for me. A+++++. This was incredible. Those burnt ends melted right in your mouth. The Mac & cheese was thick and creamy and not oily like you inevitably get sometimes with a good Mac & cheese. We also had beer, of course. We sampled a few before deciding on the snozberry sour. They do not have ciders though for those of us who prefer that. The building was rustic and cute and I loved the lights hanging from the ceiling. Mine could have been warmer. Onion rings were greasy and the breading tasted like fish. The place was packed and they did have a Christmas party going on. There was a good amount of food as well on the entree. The jalapeño poppers were delicious. Bacon wrapped around them was good just right and the sauce was delicious. 5 of them for $8.50. Okay let me just start out by saying I'm from Kansas City. I know good BBQ and beer. Kinkadier was such an amazing experience that for the first time since moving to Grand Island, NE, I have felt at home. The food was spectacular, I ordered the Chicken Fried Stack and my boyfriend ordered the Philly. Each individual element in our meal was mind blowing. We kept saying to each other that Kinkadier does not belong in such a small town, it's too good! For the appetizer we had the spinach artichoke dip, which came with toast. Usually restaurants give a small portion of of dip but Kinkadier put it in a bowl, and filled it. AMAZING. Let's talk about the beer. It feels odd to say, being a KCMO girl who firmly believes Boulevard Brewing Company is the champion of beer; but Kinkadier Honey Wheat Beer was... oddly enough.. better. With a 4.8 in alcohol content you don't need very many to feel a buzz. The atmosphere was really cozy and open. We sat in the upstairs and liked our seat. Only complaint is the stairs are a bit steep. We we arrived around 6 they were really busy so there was no hostess to seat us for a few minutes, but that wasn't a big deal. Wow. 10/10 read more

If there was a minus star number, I would assign it to this restaurant. We visited on Saint Patrick's day evening, expected a crowd and a wait, but nothing as we experienced. We ended up walking out after waiting one hour for a table, and one hour and 20 minutes for our food. After we were seated and we ordered two plates of corned beef and cabbage, the waiter approached us after 45 minutes and announced that they only had enough for one order. I asked that they bring the one plate of food with an additional dish so we could share it. We waited another 20 minutes and the food never arrived.
