What a fun atmosphere. We went for an early dinner, so it was quiet in the restaurant. We asked to be seated in a booth - they're made from the old doors of the hotel rooms, which was so cool and also made the booths nice and quiet since the doors were so tall. The food was good and there was enough variety on the menu that we really enjoyed being there. We chose some ordinary dishes (reuben, pulled pork sandwich) and they were great. Came here on a whim and ordered the 12 oz prime rib with Veggies and Mashed potatoes. The prime rib was up to par and was juicy. I ordered it medium and it actually came out medium. Medium is different everywhere you go but I guess what I think is medium and they think is medium are the same so lucky me. The veggies are seasoned well and are soft not to soft and not to hard. I also like the mashed potatoes that came with it. Over all i would give it 5 stars. read more

The food was very disappointing The salad with steak on it had old yellow greens and extremely wilted other greens. The Mediterranean salad had bits of the Cobb salad on the plate (egg and cheddar cheese) so not sure why a clean plate wasn't used. We both ate the meat (we were hungry-and it was good) and didn't touch the greens on either salad The service was good- but slow- everything took a long time- maybe just because they didn't have enough servers. I was passing through central Nebraska and stayed in Broken Bow for the night. There weren't many options for dinner so figured I'd give the hotel restaurant a shot - it had some ambience. The entree prices were kind of high, and the appetizers weren't much cheaper. So I settled on a chicken quesadilla with avocado and had a a few mules with it. I have to say I didn't have huge expectations for the quesadilla in central Nebraska, but it was pretty damn good. It was huge and was enough for a filling dinner. More importantly it was just good - a great balance of tortilla, cheese, chicken, and avocado with fresh salsa. They get 5 stars because at the end, when the bill came it was far less than I expected, about $25 with the small happy hour discount. read more

We drove up to Broken Bow on a Sunday to take my father-in-law to dinner. This restaurant is in the hotel he and his wife stayed at on their honeymoon in 1951. He says the hotel had a good restaurant even then. Good to see some things remain the same! We had an excellent meal. I had the sirloin, my husband had the walleye, and my f-I-l had the salmon. Each one of us had a perfectly prepared meal. I got a nibble of the salmon and the dill aioli sauce was really good, I'll be looking for a recipe online for home. The service was excellent, as well. We were seated quickly and the manager let us know they had two large groups that had just come in before us so our meals might be a bit slow, but we did not notice any delay in service. I strongly encourage you to make the drive up to enjoy a really good meal! read more

You would think in cattle country the chef would know the difference between a flank steak and a ribeye. I got charged $32 dollars for a steak that was worse than any steak I've ever had before n my life. At 830 on a Saturday night they were out of steaks, potatoes, ranch dressing, and other things. Found this lovely little gem last year when passing through from Sturgis Rally. The hospitality was so warm and receiving so we didn't hesitate to stay here again as we passed through again from Sturgis. Will our bartender was great! He didnt shut down the bar until we were ready to leave. I hope he's there next year as we plan on making this a traditional stop from Sturgis to back home in Houston! read more

Wife and I are coming from a business trip in Deadwood, South Dakota back home to Dallas and stopped here to dine. Service and food are were very good. One exception is the flies that were hovering around, looks like the doors were left open to the outside dining porch there for the reason they were there. Yes I would recommend highly! This restaurant has fresh food and the presentation was spot on thank you to our waitress; Abbigail. She was welcoming, hospitable and provided my colleague and I great recommendations. She knows the menu well and was descriptive with her recommendations. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great tasting lunch or dinner. The service was outstanding thanks to Abbigail. The restaurant itself has a good import/domestic beer selection. The restaurant sits in the middle of town and has window views of Broken Bow's town garden. There is ample parking and the price for a three course meal, including drinks was moderately priced. I rated this 4 stars because it is probably the best all around eating establishment in Broken Bow. Set in a very nice looking hotel, the theme is more like a sports bar than a restaurant. TV's on three of the four walls but the furniture is nice and the menu has a nice selection. I though the prices were a little high for the area but the food was good and plentiful. I recommend the full rack of ribs or the rib-eye. read more

Nothing spectacular about this place. I just came here because it was the most strategic location to stop and get lunch while driving across the Sandhills. And this was supposed to be the best place in town? Food took unreasonably long to come out, considering it was a sandwich and the place is practically empty (this was around 2:30 in the afternoon). They gave me the wrong sandwich, so there was confusion when it finally came out. I went ahead and ate it anyway, and it was just an average sandwich. The only real positive thing about this restaurant is that it doesn't smell like cows like it does out on the streets. This is quite possibly the worst smelling town I've ever been in and they miraculously remove any trace of that scent on the inside of the building. read more

Not impressed. I came in during a weekday afternoon and ordered a burger and beer. Their beer selection is fairly limited, though they do have both draught and bottles. And the burger I got was more quantity than quality. It was big, but nothing memorable. The server had her daughter in the bar with her and spent more time dealing with her than taking care of anything I needed. What else are you going to do in Broken Bow. The place is comfortable. Service is average, I thought small town might be friendlier. The menus as noted elsewhere surprisingly has something for everyone. My New York strip was tasty food but a little firm. The veggies were crisp and good. The bread on the side looked like a dry store loaf, didn't try it. The table next to us had a Philly cheese steak and buffalo chips. It looked pretty good, I may try that next time. Usually the food here is very good but last night was kind of awful! First we ordered an appetizer of bacon wrapped mozzarella with orange marmalade sauce. I expected just that but what came out were these 3 fist sized breaded masses that looked awful and way overdone. We cut into one and the bacon inside was nearly raw. I'm guessing their oil was way too hot since the outside was nearly burnt. Also, no orange sauce. It came with ranch and marinara. I had ordered chicken fried steak for an entree. Again the breading was nearly burnt. The mashed potatoes and green beans it came with were good although the potatoes were lukewarm. I'm hoping this was an off night, except for the horrible appetizer. read more

Traveling to Sturgis for the rally and stopped in Broken Bow. We stayed at the Arrow Hotel and are at this restaurant . When we pulled up we were greeted by RJ who welcomed us be fire we got of the bikes and bought us a drink. I recommend this spot to anyone traveling in this area. This Cali girl was in the middle of Nebraska for family, and we went to this restaurant for dinner one night. I was impressed with the options (from steak to pasta to grilled salmon to Vietnamese spring rolls). There was something for the vegetarians and meat eaters. The grilled salmon was delicious (had mango and tomatoes on it). It was impressive for a small town restaurant in a landlocked state far from major bodies of water. The service was okay. It was getting closer to 10; and I think they wanted to close early since our waitress never asked if we wanted anymore to drink or if we wanted anything else. Overall, the experience was good. I decided to leave this review after reading others. I see that alot of people thought prices should be lower in a small town. I think that is a really unfair assumption. First of all, groceries are far more expensive out here in the middle of Nebraska and that should factor in to any restaurant in the area. Second, servers and cooks need to support themselves too and shouldn't have to work two jobs to survive, so keep that in mind. The prices are standard brew pub prices if you compare them to say, Lincoln, NE. I always figure, if I don't have money to tip or pay a little more, then do fast food or eat at home. 9/10 when I have traveled thru the food is great, the service is stellar, and the recommendations are wonderful. I love the variety on the menu. I had one night when the food was not so great. Do go early, as even though they are a bar, because they do lunch too, they seem to like to close early.
