Loaded backed potato with pulled pork, house BBQ sauce, and a side of beans
Justin W.

Healthy portions of deliciously prepared foods! Service was plenty busy but did their best stay in touch and were very friendly. The setting is a well maintained "haunted" rustic hotel. They make good use of the space and have an inviting environment.

Steak and mashed potatoes
Andrew H.

When the choices are as slim as they are out in broken bow this place is pretty good. I got the steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was on the saltier side but overall it was pretty good. It's no fine dining establishment as you can see from the sloppy presentation on plate but it tasted better than it looked.

Dinner menu

The food was very disappointing The salad with steak on it had old yellow greens and extremely wilted other greens. The Mediterranean salad had bits of the Cobb salad on the plate (egg and cheddar cheese) so not sure why a clean plate wasn't used. We both ate the meat (we were hungry-and it was good) and didn't touch the greens on either salad The service was good- but slow- everything took a long time- maybe just because they didn't have enough servers. We were told that she would take care of the bill- took 20% off. I would say very disappointing dinner overall. Nice ambiance outside on patio.

Great Steak!

Our first time here for breakfast. Wasn't sure they do, but phone call confirmed. Quiet morning…read morehere, with only 6 local gzzr guys playing cards. Standard fare foods here. Pancakes, sausage, hash browns (all burnt) requested, eggs over easy. Coffee and water. A local lady makes pies and cheese cakes. They don't have plain cheesecake today, so will try another day for that. And breakfast was REALLY good. Best job of getting my hash browns burnt any restaurant has done!!

We have been traveling to Tub's Pub for probably close to 30 years. We made the 60 min drive again…read moretonight but it may very well be the last trip. Their "famous chicken fried steaks" we were told were out, they were trying to get us to have the Special which was spaghetti with meat sauce, not interested. So we ordered off the menu much to our waitresses dismay. One order of shrimp ( came barely cooked). Two orders of chicken fried chicken that was actually grilled chicken breast, and I ordered a bacon cheeseburger. Waitress asked if I wanted fries with that, I did, salad bar she asked, before I answered she said " you can have both" I said sure. Three coffees and a diet coke. Coffee came with 1/2 full cups. Cheeseburger was a standard premade patty, cheese, bacon and a bun. Nothing but average. Then came the bill $73.00. My cheeseburger was 17.50 same as shrimp and grilled chicken dinners, we asked the waitress why the menu said bacon cheeseburger 7.50, she said fries and salad bar was 10.00. The "salad bar"consisted of lettuce, dressing, cottage cheese and cole slaw. sorry to say we aren't making the trip again.

We found this gem on Yelp while on a recent trip across country. We sat at the bar and were greeted…read moreimmediately and served our drinks within minutes. My husband had a beer which could have been a bit colder but was refreshing nonetheless. I had a Jameson neat and mine was perfect :) We asked our server what she would recommend and she suggested the turkey panini so we shared that and a bowl of the Irish stew. Both were delicious although the stew was lukewarm and the panini appeared to have sat for a bit. We didn't wait long for our food so we were a bit surprised at the temperature of both items, but again, not a big deal...it was still very tasty! Just a few customers on a Thursday afternoon so it was a quiet meal. We did strike up a conversation with a gentleman who happened to be a huge Buffalo Bills fan and was quite enthusiastic and entertaining to visit with! Overall, a nice, quiet place to grab a meal and a beverage after hours of driving. They had several tv's and looks like it could be a lot of fun with a crowd. Would definitely recommend!

Always looking for local, we found McKinney's Pub on 3rd West in downtown Grand Island…read more Looking like most of the smaller Irish pubs I've been in, in the Midwest, theirs an immediate comfort as soon as you walk into the door. Green walls, dark wood and brass foot rails. I, of course, started off with a Guinness, which was perfectly poured and my wife a Diet Coke. The staff is relaxed and friendly, giving us plenty of time to look over a fairly extensive menu. My wife decided on the Buffalo Chicken wrap, and I went all in on the Peanut butter burger. My wife really liked her wrap, lots of contrasting goodies to complement the chicken with had some bite but wasn't too spicy. If you're going to tray a peanut butter burger, you need to like peanut butter- it gives the burger a different taste. Served with a mandarin chutney on a tasty bun, I found myself liking it more and more as I enjoyed it. We were offered desserts, but declined as we were absolutely stuffed. Oh, how could I forget to mention the curled chip!!!!nothing short of awesome! Think of a curly cue fry combined with a steak fry. Really, really great!
