We came here while visiting family after we had stopped at Junto Winery. The space inside is a little narrow, but we were able to find a table to fit our group. It also wasn't super busy when we came, so that helped. I don't really like beer, so for me it's tough to find something at breweries. They did have a pretty decent snack menu. I highly recommend ordering their giant pretzels. They are bigger than your head! I also ordered one of their root beer floats, because I'm a giant child. It was great. Seward, Nebraska has a gem of a brew pub in the Bottle Rocket Brewery. Located one block from the town square, Bottle Rocket is housed in a former seed mill. The owners have gone to great lengths to share the buildings roots via wall photos and tabletop flyers. Multiple brews and ales were on tap and a limited snack menu was available but patrons are allowed to bring in outside food. We tried the Bottle Rocket blonde ale and the seasonal blueberry ale. As small time beer and ale drinkers, our palates may not be as refined as others. In our judgement the brew was cold, tasted good and the hospitality was welcoming and friendly. Who could ask for more? Seward is known for its Fourth of July celebration and and Bottle Rocket Brewery has extensive outdoor seating that will be a popular spot to enjoy the festivities. I love this place. They are a hometown brewery that strives for high-quality creative beers. The building is cool and a fun atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating and an event space you can rent out. The staff are all rock stars.They are in this business because they like talking to people and they like good beer. A couple months back we were just chatting to one of the staff and it turns out he was an owner and gave us an impromptu tour of their brew floor and their new canning machines as they are now doing off sale and working to get into local markets. Just a fun guy who wanted to share his passion with interested people. They have food too. Not a full menu, but they bring in food trucks periodically. But I do recommend the giant soft pretzel which arrives piping hot with three dipping sauces. They also do pizza. read more

It's a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. Outside is SO sunny and hot, inside is super cold and the seats are weird. Or there's benches. There's a super ugly banquet type room in the back. Only beer or root beer. I got a root beer because I'm sober, and it's warm and just ok. Wish it was cold. We ordered beer cheese and crackers. It's literally a big slab of the nastiest cheese I've ever had and ritz crackers. I was hoping it was going to be like, melted dipping cheese. It's not worth $6. I shoulda ordered the giant pretzel. I still might. I'm hungrier than I thought I was. My Mom got a flight. Three 4oz beers for $10. That's not a bad deal. Now she knows what beer she wants a full one of. Only beer, no booze at all. FYI So if you don't like beer you're not going to like it here. 1 way too loud tv. Bathrooms are nice. Super cool sink. I shoulda taken a picture. My Uncle tried the 1868 Small Town Brown Ale. We were not sure we should go- the only reviews we could find were months to a year ago and mediocre at best. We teach in North Carolina, and road trip all over the U.S. Love to find good breweries. Sure glad we decided to check out Bottle Rocket! We got flights and chose our beers with the help of the very cheerful and knowledgeable guy pulling the tap handles. LOVED Stout Constitution, a cream Stout. I usually am not a fan of Stout, but the coffee and chocolate in this made it a "thumbs up!" Same with the brown ale, 1868 Smalltown --- not usually someone that orders brown ales (prefer amber). But he said it was smooth, and he was right! M80, a medium pale ale was also SPOT ON. There was a large chorus rehearsing (and I think taping) in the community room....for 4th of July, maybe? We got live music during our visit- fantastic! Really nice new building, great bartender, lively customers and delicious beer choices. We'll be back! read more

This was my first time at this brewery and even the town of Seward. Coming off the highway, it was easy to find this place. Located in the heart of downtown, Bottle Rocket brewing company is housed in a beautiful historic building that was once used for grain. Upon entering, you can tell that the company did a very good job restoring this place. A lot of wood accents, a vintage piano, and old bottles and beer cans from the early 20th century. I approach the bar and struck up a good conversation with Jason, their marketing guy, and gave me a good history lesson on the building and this up-and-coming brewery. They're excited to also expand their establishment with a social hall coming this July. My experience has been great so far. Then, I saw the beer list. Now, I understand this is a newer brewery but something was puzzling to me. Bottle Rocket brewing company had 7 beers on tap, 4 open to the general public and 3 only available to "mug members". In order to be a member, you would have to shell out $100 per year. Granted it came with other promotional perks, but this was new to me and I didn't know how to respond to it or for any visitors who can't frequent the place due to distance. Anyway, I didn't think much of it and ordered a flight of their 4 public brews: holiday ale, wit, stout, and pale ale (first time ever being in a brewery that didn't have a lager, Pilsner, or IPA). Overall the beers were pretty good but had a harsh bitter/sour finish, except for the wit. In fact, I don't care for this kind of beer but it was so smooth and tasted phenomenal! It was the perfect libation as I spent a lazy Sunday afternoon chatting it up with the local patrons, a very friendly bunch. All in all, the beers weren't my favorite but I'm holding out for a larger selection down the road for this new brewery. If you have a taste for wit bier and agricultural architecture, this is your place. read more

I keep trying to like this place. The beers, while better, still don't have body and full carbonation. The building and decor are top notch and they have made some improvements to the beer. However, when compared with other craft breweries in the area they are still over priced. The beer mugs are are represented as pints, however they are 13 ounce at best. Petty sure, but at $5.00 a mug or glass you have the right to expect a full 15.5 ounce beer with a slight head (16 oz). The $100 membership is absurd and ONLY club members can buy a beer in a larger glass, which they represent as 20 oz. Acoustically, when there are very many in the place you can hardly hear. They continue to struggle with food service and have hit or miss food trucks on weekends. Oh well. read more

I don't live in Nebraska, I was just visiting and I stopped in to try an IPA. It was ok, but the real winner is their root beer. Definitely worth trying if you happen to be in the area. Great up and coming Brewery in a very unique building. The beer hall is small but they have built on for more room. the beer is ok but may get better with time. No food served but they will allow you to bring your own or order from Pizza Hut. I would suggest they spring for a wood fired oven and start selling their own pizza. that would make this a go-to place for miles around. read more

Bottle Rocket Brewery is a Seward, Nebraska original. Their name is a shout-out to the community, which serves as, "Nebraska's Official 4th of July City." Their facility creates a welcoming atmosphere and is located in "The Seward County Courthouse Square Historic District," which is listed on the National Register of Historic places. They offer some basic food options, but also welcome bringing in outside food. And, what really matters is their beer. Their brewmaster, Ryan does a fabulous job keeping their flavors consistent, unique, and delicious. My personal favorite is their seasonal, Oktoberfest. Perfect representation of fall in Nebraska.
