This place sucks. Cheap meat, cheap alcohol that all tastes like crap. Steak was overcooked but somehow still pale and no sear. Train your cooks to season consistently or get cooks that know how to actually cook. It's sad when the best part of a $27 dish is the sh*t iceberg lettuce salad and a baked potato. Your hummus is the worst hummus I've ever had. Get out of my face, service sucked too and it wasn't even busy. I would've rather gone to the Mexican restaurant across the street. Had a great lunch at Dusters unfortunately forgot pictures. I had the cheesesteak with blue cheese with a side salad and ranch. I ventured away from the jalopy wings or sandwich and was a little sad I did. I don't get here often so the sandwich was a bit disappointing. The description sounded better than it tasted. It was solid but not great like I feel the jalopy wings or sandwich are. Definitely won't venture from them next time. Staff was friendly and service was quick. I'm from Omaha and used to pricier dining--this was a great meal for the value! We spent $70 with 2 entrees, 2 cocktails, and 2 beers. Definitely well worth it! The sausage chili was good, nothing exceptional. The ribeye was a very interesting special and turned out great. Love the creativity! It was pretty fatty, so I cut off a few ounces, and was on the thinner side, but cooked perfectly and very juicy. The bruschetta topping was great as well. The Chambord kiss tasted amazing--but it seemed like they probably forgot the vodka! I had a lemon drop afterward and this was plenty strong to make up for it. Not pictured was the Red Rock beer we tried--this may be my new favorite beer! A copper colored wheat beer with a great flavor and after taste. Overall an excellent value. The atmosphere was busy, and on the nicer side for Columbus, yet very casual--you could wear anything and fit in. The service was good but it did take 50 minutes for our food to come out which was surprising. Definitely a good spot that I will be back to, I love the variety in the cocktail and special menus! read more

Food was good, but the staff was clearly overwhelmed from the time we walked in. There weren't that many people seated yet and it still took well over an hour to get out food for 5 adults and 5 kids. The foods, both soups had salt issues. Seems the cheese was barley warms from yesterdays offerings. This was far too clumpy and the salt was a real off putting offering. Did any one test this soup. ?? The French Onion was poured from a can probably and never tasted for the salt levels. Might I suggest that salt be added at the table by the client. My spiced salmon plate was far too spiced. I could barley could taste the fish under the crusted top. My spouse was less spicy but dry as in over cooked. The grace of the evening was our waitress and her service. We were early diners so we could attend the music in the park event. She was positive, doing personal chatter back and forth about her children and her next child in a few months. She has a skill to draw talk with clients. I would have loved to give this 5 stars but unfortunately Dusters fell flat on Valentines. Everyone was friendly enough & our waitress was pretty good. The atmosphere was a bit drafty and eh. No flowers or candles or flora. The food was good although my partner had to send his plate back because his food was cold. We began with hor de ovres which arrived to our table hot and yummy. We waited quite a while for our salads. Love their dressing here. It was crisp but no garnishments. Then there was an Extremely long wait for our main dish. It was a limited menu so we aren't sure what the hold up was. They weren't packed and there were plenty of extra tables. I have always loved Dusters in the past but found it disappointing this time. No specials. Two tables which were seated after us received their food and were done eating before we got our food. The place was not busy at all yet we had a very long wait. The beer, All American Lager, was delicious. The first set of appetizer plates we were given contained 2 very dirty plates. I didn't receive my beer cheese soup until I asked about it when getting my entree. Our waitress was very very sweet, but hard to find. My entree, Neptune's seafood fettuccine, was meaty and delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to see it contained the smaller, bay scallops! My daughter also enjoyed her sausage lahvosh. My son's salmon was not cooked very well, and it was disappointing. My husband's steak was also a bit overcooked and underwhelming. If I am going to have to wait a long time for my food, I expect it to be cooked well. We were also disappointed that the online menu was quite different from the actual menu. I am not sure I will be back, which is too bad because that pasta dish is money! read more

The restaurant has declined considerably in quality of food and the service is below average, at best. I held a family gathering here with 9 people, and the service started off poorly when we were informed the kitchen would not accommodate a request to serve us from the early bird menu, which included our favorite menu item served by the restaurant (the menu ended at 6:00 pm, and it was 6:15 when we requested accommodation). That is fine, but the waitress was clearly annoyed at our request, and was not apologetic in the least. I am being fair when I also say that the food was of average quality. I ordered the french onion steak sandwich, and it was a soft sourdough bread with way too much provolone cheese, and overcooked prime rib steak. The side of cole slaw had no taste, and was coursely cut cabbage in a cup. If you are planning on a family gathering with great service, I recommend considering other options. read more

The food was great. My daughter and I shared the Neptunes fettuccine Alfredo and prime rib. The pasta was absolutely amazing! 10 for 10 would recommend if you love a good sea food and pasta dish. The prime rib was cooked great but the taste was okay. Not bad by any means but could use a lot more seasoning for taste. My husband got the Tuscan chicken and it was very flavorful. I would highly recommend but call for reservations on the weekend or show up right around 5 or it fills up quickly. read more

They have a good variety of food from steak to salad to pasta. There was something for everyone. My daughter had chicken strips with fruit. My husband had a sirloin and my son and I split a t-bone steak. My father-in-law ordered an appetizer called a lavash an Armenian flat bread with sausage and tomatoes. It was ok. In fact all the food was just ok. The French onion soup was too salty, the meat was not the best quality, the mash potatoes were a little gummy. The best was my mother-in-law's salad dressing which was special made and the homemade root beer. Nothing was bad it just wasn't the best. The service was great and the people were friendly. Expectations fell short considering that they present themselves as a fine dinning establishment. We order one round of drinks, calamari as a appetizer, and placed our dinner order. They calamari is okay, strips served with a cocktail sauce. Most of our group got a entree that was served with a soup and salad. After finishing my glass of wine with the apps the hostess never returned to the table until our salads were ready. At least 15 minutes which was far too long considering I was trying to order a bottle of wine for the table. The historic dinning room is nice, food is okay, but service is not up to par. If your going to just get a beer I do think sitting in the tasting room at the bar would be a better experience. read more

Solid restaurant/pub. We were helping some people move in to their new place nearby, and decided to stop here for lunch. It's a surprisingly nice-looking place for Columbus, NE. Spacious seating, nice murals of Plains-related themes on the walls, and very friendly waiters and servers. They have Early Bird Specials for $11, and those come with soup or salad. I decided instead to get a pulled pork sandwich with fruit and a cream soda, which altogether came to about 10 bucks before tip. I did not expect them to put cole slaw inside the sandwich itself, but it was really good. Could have used more steak sauce, but good. The cream soda had an interesting taste, and was more red than golden brown, but maybe I'm just too used to the IBC Cream Soda. My girlfriend had the chicken salad croissant sandwich and fries. I asked her what she thought of her food on a 1- to 5-star scale, and she said it was about a 3. I agreed with that for my meal. The alcohol and desserts looked great, but since we were about to go move for several hours, decided against them. Maybe next time. I'll try and go here again if I'm in Columbus some time soon. read more

We had a party of 20 and half the group received their food while the other half waited an hour for our food. The staff members are immature and rude. Instead of fixing the issue, they laugh and said rude comments about our party. We will definitely not be coming back and hopefully, you guys don't have the same experience my family did. We brought our son and family from Chicago to Dusters... First of all we arrived 5 minutes before our reservation and they had given our table away! So we had to wait . Our food took 1 1/2 hours and the server didn't even bring our salads until 1:15 after we ordered and a table that was empty when we arrived with more people had their food a full 15 minutes before we got ours. When we complained about having to wait an hour and a half instead of apologizing, the waiter just said, "so did everyone else." And he walked away. No discount was offered. read more

This is the second time I have eaten at Dusters. Everyone I know from Columbus and surrounding areas raves about this place, and I can't say that I agree with them. It is ok but nothing to write home about...maybe because I have so many choices in Omaha. The positive points are the nice atmosphere, good for large groups, the early bird menu, and the beer brewed onsite. I found my meal to be passable. I ordered a steak, which came with potato, soup, AND salad. The soup, a chowder, was virtually tasteless and needed a lot of salt and pepper. The steak was cooked well and you can't mess up a baked potato. The vegetable was soggy squash. I would say it is decent but nothing memorable. read more

I was debating 4 or 5 stars, and I'm erring on the side of awesome, because this place really was quite awesome. First of all, this was far classier than I expected for a place called both "Dusters" and "Gottberg Brew Pub." I was picturing something far more rustic. It was borderline fancy inside, though, but not pretentious in the least, so going casual was still okay. The menu looked decent, and I went with the two options that intrigued me the most. The first was a season specialty, the kale salad with pumpkin seeds, cranberry, and chorizo. This was incredibly delicious, and a very large plate for only 10 bucks! I'd recommend pairing this with the raspberry vinaigrette, as the sweetness plays off the cranberries very well, and tones down the spiciness of the chorizo. This was a well-composed and balanced dish. Second was the porkstrami on rye. I wasn't sure what to expect, but from the description, a 48-hour pork loin pastrami seemed too good to pass up. It was. So incredibly tasty! The pork stayed most, tender, juicy, and very flavorful throughout the entire sandwich. I was thoroughly impressed, and I would totally order this again! I opted for the beer cheese soup as my side, and also was not disappointed. Full of flavor, hot, creamy, but not too thick. For beverages, I hadn't been here before, so I went with the beer sampler. For a mere 5 bucks, you can try each of the 8 different beer options, plus the two sodas! Great bargain! I won't comment on each one, though, because my beer tastes are probably vastly different than yours. But they're all worth sampling, I'll say that much, and there is absolutely something for every palate. Overall, great meal, great experience, and definitely worth a return trip. Had one of the worst meals EVER. We ordered three prime ribs and salmon dinner. The three prime ribs arrived smothered in a cheap brown salty gravy along with a swiveled bake potato with melt American cheese. We sent the prime ribs back and received one prime rib that was so raw it was still bleeding and two other prime ribs that you could barely chew because they were so tough. My sister later got sick after her salmon meal. I stopped by the next day to speak to the manager but was direct to who I believe was the chef and I am using that title very loosely. I received an arrogant Attitude and total lack of regard for our experience. I would eat at McDonald before I would go to Dusters again. read more

One of the nicest restaurants to eat at in Columbus for a "fancy" feel to it. Excellent service, our waiter made sure that our glasses were never empty and was very fun to be around. One of the best full service restaraunts in town but I still have a hard time giving them 4 stars. They definately have some good menu choices but it seems like a lot of their food leaves something to be desired. I go to Dusters on a rare occassion but honestly if Dusters were in Omaha they would go out of business before they knew what hit them. Why? They can't compete with the big dogs in Omaha, but they have no problem staying in business in Columbus because there simply isn't any competition. That being said, there service is pretty good and the atmosphere is great. I do enjoy their own micro-brew of rootbeer and beer before the meal, but then leave disappointed with the food. Maybe it's because it looks like a 5 star restaraunt on the inside but the food is just a little above average quality. I have been told that their Sunday breakfast buffet is really good but I have yet to try that. read more
