For this price, this was an excellent meal!! I am used to the Omaha food scene, so in comparison this was nothing special. The salmon was a bit overcooked, and the green beans could use more flavor. Six of us went to eat at about 5:30 on May 9, 2026. The service was terrible. Our server was awful and got our orders wrong. Didn't bring our drinks. We had to request a different server after being ignored and skipped over. People who came in way after us got their orders taken and food before us. Some of our food was cold. Service here has always been horrible and customer service is a zero. If the owners care about customers I highly suggest spending time onsite and retraining its employees. The service and management at this location are terrible. They sat every party in one section with one waitress who was brand new, which resulted in everyone waiting a very long time for everything. She was serving and bussing the tables all by herself, while her 4 other coworkers AND the manager were watching from the other side of the bar and sitting on their phones. The manager did nothing during the whole 2 hours we were there, and then when someone complained to the manager about the wait, she said "Our waitress is new, I'll make sure she knows she can't take that long next time." The manager should be stepping up to help, especially if your staff is new, instead of watching videos on your phone. While in Columbus for work a couple of weeks ago stopped in at Applebees for dinner since it was close to my hotel. Very quiet crowd and so was seated immediately. My server (Jorge) came to take my order promptly and so that part of my dining experience was good. My drink came out quickly and correctly too. And not too long after my steak was delivered by a manager? I am not trying to place Jorge in jeopardy of losing his job since I believe everyone can have a bad day once in a while but he would have received a larger tip if he had even tried to smile! Not one resemblance of a smile crossed his face the entire time when he conversed with me during my meal. On 6/1/18 at approximately 8:30pm I showed up to Applebees in their car side to go to receive my order. When I ordered online it was estimated that my order will be done at 8:35pm. I waited over 15 minutes to receive my order. The entire time employees would be looking outside the the window and talking to each other. Not once did someone come out and tell me they were busy or that my order would be coming out late. After waiting 15 minutes past my pick up time I decided to leave. I no longer wanted the food. As I was backing up an employee came out with my order. I pulled forward again. I asked him if they usually leave a customer sit outside for 15minutes with no communication that the food order was on its way. He told me that after a certain time it's not the employees job to come out and do car side to go. It's the customers job to come inside and pick it up. Customers just arnt aware of it because the online ordering doesnt state that. Now I'm furious. That means my food has been sitting off to the side for 15 minutes because I didn't come inside because I wasnt aware of a rule that wasnt stated to me! I love Applebees. I eat here all the time and although the customer service isnt always the best I continue to come back because I love the food. I always leave good reviews and suggest it to friends and family, but I'm disgusted. This was by far the worst experience I have ever received. I waiting 20minutes for cold food. The mashed potatoes were so creamy, they looked like soup. I was told that's because of a new style of potato they've gotten in that they can't figure out how to fix for anyone that orders them. Went out to dinner with a friend. I ordered Spinach and shrimp salad with bacon vinaigrette at the bar. I was incredibly disappointed with what was delivered to me. It was such a small serving for the price. I made a comment to the bartender and said are your sure this is the salad that I ordered. I cut into the burger completely raw in the middle. This is the third burger I've gotten from them that has been this way. For all the readers out there Applebee's is not the place to go. If you want to make some real money in Columbus Nebraska my suggestion would be to open A family friendly reasonably priced restaurant serving good quality food. So far Columbus Ne doesn't have it.
