William showed up at 9 a.m. though he said he was coming at 8 a.m. At 9:30 a.m. he came to the…read moredoor to say he was leaving to get items for the water system. He also wanted us to sign his contract and said he wouldn't be back until it was signed. The contract is a full of requirements for us, many related to items beyond our control like where wires or roots are. Despite our worries about the contract, we signed it. At 2:30, after waiting for his return, I called him and when returning my call, he praised himself for returning my call. He returned but left again after only about an hour of "work ". He came back and was working when several members of his family came to help him. We were not informed about this. Also, the plan was that he would work both Saturday and Sunday. Instead, the family work until 9 pm. It was dark and I couldn't really see his/their work. One of his trips away from this job was to pick up cedar for covering the ground around the plants. He bought too much and it doesn't look or smell like cedar. Today, I am shoveling, pushing the wheelbarrow back and forth to places around the yard, and trying to spread the mulch. We hired him but that was a mistake. Make sure you read every word of the contract and that you ask for the last part about payment before you sign his contract.

He came out to meet me and patiently heard about the issue and my thoughts. We agreed on the basic job then later flushed out the details. William was responsive to calls, receptive to my needs and ideas, took my ideas to a better place, and did a great job for me.

I LOVE THESE PEOPLE! For starters let me say that I did not…read morehire them, but after interacting with them I would never hire a different company. After a long weekend of camping I was driving down from Hell Hole Reservoir on the only road out of the area. Unfortunately, work was being done on the road but was not clearly indicated (seriously it was very unclear), nor was the work showing up on google maps or any other GPS navigation app. We (my fiance, dog and myself) found ourselves 3 miles from our destination with 1/8 a tank of gas and no option other than to turn around and drive all the way back up the hill to French Meadows and come back down the mountain the other way. Lets just say we did NOT have the gas to do that. Thankfully we ran into several members of this company who found themselves facing the same issue. After a quick discussion the team quickly came to a very fortunate decision; my truck and theirs would turn around and drive back up the hill (about 10 miles) to where other members of their team were waiting, and they would give us gas that they had for their tools and equipment. After giving us 5 gallons of gas they refused what money we had on us. Brent and his team then happily sent my family on its way back up, then down, the mountain. We made it to Foresthill (the first town with gas) with barely any to spare. Without this wonderful company, and their fantastically kind and compassionate employees, we would never had made it home safely. We would have been stranded in the woods, with no cell service or reception because of poorly marked under construction roads (an no notification to google that work was being done). If I ever EVER ever need a tree service, this is who I will call. They are fantastic people, and a company made up of fantastic people is a company I want to spend my money at. I will forever speak highly of Foothill Tree Service.
