I've used these guys twice since I bought my house. They are quick, efficient, nice and reasonably priced. The first time they were here they took out a small group of 4 tall, skinny oaks that were on a small slope so our Internet will work. And two other dead trees next to our house. They took the trees down, cut them into 16" logs and were done by early afternoon. The second time we had a VERY large, VERY old oak with a hollow, twisted trunk that we discovered (late in the afternoon) had cracked and was in danger of falling onto a busy road. they came out the next day to assess and quote, and rescheduled a previous appointment of theirs, so they could take it down the next morning, since it was potentially dangerous. The tree came down, and was cut and stacked in under 3 hours. The whole end-to-end took less than 30 hours to complete, averting what could have been a very tragic event. His team left us the wood sliced into rounds for splitting, and cleaned up every bit of the mess made from the branches with the wood chipper they brought with them. Had Jose's Tree Service come out and bid to remove five trees, grind the stumps and shape/trim two large oaks. Their supervisor, Gama, quoted us $3,700. Our previous quote from a local landscaper was $10,000! We hired Jose's immediately. When they got here, I added four more trees. My mother used these guys to remove several stumps. The price was ok and they were very nice, BUT one of the employees had chew and spat everywhere!! This is a pandemic we are in and having to clean up someone else's spittle is not only gross but down right dangerous for my 74 year old mother with underline lung condition. Even if he would have brought a small container to put his spit in would have been a little thoughtful of other people who life depends on safety. This definitely shows this business/ owner is not teaching their employees about safety or they would have had a conversation with this employee about how unsafe it is to spit on people's driveway, parking area, walking areas ect. Today was the second time we've utilized Jose's Tree Service. I can't praise them enough. The first time I'd written the wrong date on my calendar, they showed up on time and patiently waited while I threw some clothes on (we're retired, so we don't start early) and moved our cars for them. After that, they jumped in; trimming, pruning, and removing mistletoe on about 10 large trees. Victor and his crew were wonderful, stopping to consult with us about what we wanted (cleaning out dead wood while keeping our privacy). We now have beautiful trees. So, naturally we called them back when we decided we need to have a 90' digger pine taken out. (This time I had the date right and was ready!) Again, they showed up on time, we had a short consultation/confirmation and they went straight to work. Today was so hot, I felt bad, but they didn't even seem to notice. These guys did a great job. Goma, Hector and Ivan were awesome to work with. My job was to remove the dead wood out of three digger pines that were over 125' tall. They were safe, fast, and flexible. When the neighbor wanted to trim some of the live branches so his smaller redwood had some space to grow, the guys had to remobilize but had no problem doing the work. They also chipped up the wood and made sure the area was cleaned up afterwards. They were awesome and I would have them back to do any of the other trees on the property. read more
