We had checked in to our hotel room and immediately started looking for dinner. We were feeling nostalgic and saw a buffet nearby, the Kings Wok. It sounded like a great idea, so we set off to find it. It was cold evening, so when we walked in, we were happy the place was warm. Rows and rows of steam tables, a Mongolian grill, and a dessert area. It looked very interesting, so we grabbed plates and delved into a sea of families piling their plates with good food. As we came back to the table, we started to notice we were quite warm. We peeled off jackets and sat down to dig into our delights. Spring rolls, pot stickers, various prepared chicken dishes, some Mongolian creations all went down easily with great taste. Still, is just me or is it really warm in here? Yes, it is warm, I noticed as sweat trickled down the side of my Wife's face. The steam tables are so great in number that it makes for a slightly swampy warmth. Maybe the heater was on the fritz? No one else was really complaining about it. The food and service was good, for a buffet, and it hit the spot. Hidden health code sign, illegal immigrant employees, fake sushi ingredients; for many years we would go here, but this place has turned into a dumpster fire. I've been a customer since before the renovations - this place still has that unique flavor and atmosphere I remember as a kid. I was wondering though, with the ample amount of plastic and styrofoam dishes/utensils, if their dishwasher is broken or something? I can't imagine the amount of trash that all produces, but it is what it is. I came for good food, and found that it's still here! Their chicken on a stick and fried shrimp were the highlights at the table, as opposed to the sushi; my husband said the sushi was 'okay'. Everything else we tried was good! I'm grateful for their variety, cleanliness, (there arn't any flies around the food), and grateful nothing was overly salty and dry. Everytime I'm in the area I remember eating here as a kid. I used to love this place as a kid for their sugar bread and ice cream. Today, I love it for their chicken on a stick and fried shrimp. I've always loved eating here, but I don't think I'd come back. They are using styrofoam for EVERYTHING. Plates, cups, and bowls. Plastic silverware. It's so disappointing considering this stuff is never going to biodegrade. I understand it's due to covid, but I feel like they could find better options. I wish I had known about this before paying. We came after a long day out here, you pay in full up front, it includes the buffet, drinks(soda or coffee), ice cream and desserts. I've never experienced that before at a buffet but I kinda like it. I ate mostly from the wok, it was fresh and they had a lot more options than I've ever seen. The meat actually looked fresh, it's definitely a better buffet than those out there. They also have fresh egg, pineapple, many herbs as choices for the grill which I really liked. It was worth it enough just for the wok! Plus drinks and dessert doesn't hurt. The already made food did not look super appetizing to me at all, I can remember what I even got there. I think I mostly looked and picked up fruit. BUT as nice as our time was there, it was abruptly interrupted by a crap ton of kids. The main dining area was full so we were the only ones on one of the side seating areas, probably upward 50 kids came and they acted as if WE(2 people) inconvenienced them. We stuck out like a sore thumb, there was other seating, and the seating we were at wasn't labeled or sectioned off so I had no idea I was in the wrong, if I was in the wrong. But it doesn't appear they had it reserved, and there was plenty of seating for all of them, but they made us to feel uncomfortable and out of place while we were enjoying our quiet lunch, the staff rushed us and kept asking if we were done yet, it was like why? We deserve to be there as anyone, we weren't in reserved seating, and even if we were, just ask us/point us to where we can sit. We were there less than an hour, I don't know if I was still hungry because I was now uncomfortable and felt so awkward. I had one of the wok plates that I thoroughly enjoyed, I got up to check the buffet but the food just didn't look good, I got a plate of fruit and ice cream and that's all we could tolerate. They did an awesome job at making us feel like a burden. Just so weird and inappropriate. I probably wouldn't go back just because of the service, though the wok was great! What a shame. First time going and this is an amazing buffet ($20 per adult). Three rows of buffet plus another dessert and sushi section AND a Mongolian grill AND ice cream cones to go (8-10 flavors to choose from). Great selection of items and was surprised by there being 6 soups, 10+ types of sushi, a salad bar, and even pizza? lol The servers would coming by often to remove used dishes but weren't pushy about it and the hostess noticed when we were winding down and brought over fortune cookies. Beware of sitting where there are a lot of kids cause they might be hootin n hollerin but the lo-fi asian music playing was quite relaxing. Here is everything I enjoyed: Hot n Soup soup, egg drop soup, lo mein, glass noodles, fried rice, white rice, general tso's chicken, chicken skewers, peanut chicken, broccoli chicken, beef n onions, krab bake, shumai, steamed dumplings, fried dumplings, fried spring rolls, edamame, garlic green beans, 3 types of sushi. If I enjoyed seafood more I would have gotten the mussels, little neck clams, huge crawfish, and huge fillets of salmon - person next to me polished off 3 heaping plates of their crawfish and clams before I left! I will say for the record since covid hit this place has gone down hill alot. It was for a while one of my favorite buffets. But it seems like over the last couple years the building has become kinda dirty feeling and the food has seriously declined. Wow! What an awesome find. We ventured out to Silverdale to see my grandpa for Father's Day, and this was his feast of choice. Obviously I'm not too familiar with Silverdale, so I was going with his word. Upon first impression, I'll be honest - the place doesn't look like much and is kind of dirty. Employees had waste bins out in the open (not near food, thankfully) and would kind of just leave them there for a while... A lot of cleaning was happening but it ended up making the place look a lot more unsanitary than it probably is? Not sure if that makes sense. Guess ya had to be there. Service was friendly and quick. The food is VAST in selection. They've got damn near everything here. There's no point in me trying to list everything because I'll still forget over half of what was there. Some standouts to me were the spicy tuna sushi rolls, chow mein, mongolian grill bar, wonton soup, sesame chicken, egg rolls, crab legs, crawfish, and rice noodles. I'm serious when I say they've got it all. I'm still so impressed. Granted, there were a few things that I tried that I did not like at ALL but I think that goes with any buffet experience no matter the type of cuisine. In my opinion it's definitely worth a try. For SIX of us the bill was only $90. For the amount of food we got to have and that we had at our fingertips, that's a steal! read more

I agree with the three star rating but that being said it is my Dad's favorite place to eat. He likes the variety and everyone can find something they like. I was pleasantly surprised the last time we went it seemed much less sticky (floors, tables, tongs) and the Styrofoam was for to go orders only. My favorite is the red bean sesame balls. read more

COVID UPDATE 8/18/20 They are open for Dine in and take out. The business owners are very kind and nice people. Masks are required and the prices have not changed as far as I know. Upon entering you are given disposable utensils + Plastic cup and plastic gloves. Use the gloves when dishing out your food or getting drinks. Nothing about this place was stand out. The dishes, utensils and cups were all styrofoam/plastic. They had gloves to put on to serve yourself, but it all just felt uneasy. The sushi was limited to three types of super simple rolls. The spring rolls had NOTHING in them and everything was either too dry or too watery. I've been visiting King's Wok Buffet off and on since 2003 usually while visiting family on this side of Puget Sound. Buffet in the Bremerton area back in the mid to late 1970s usually meant heading over to Perry Avenue Mall. Buffet in pastry/culinary school usually meant time to creatively make use of items in the walk-in. Non-sequiturs about buffets, so onward.... My most recent visit was back on 5/3/15 to celebrate early the kiddo's birthday and Mother's Day with relatives. Clearly they are doing well as I noticed the expansion and rearrangement of food stations. One can sample a little bit of this and that and have the ability to go back for more if it's to your liking. The food selections turn over fairly quickly so it's fresher than most or at some stations it's made to order (ie. Mongolian Grill style). Cuisine ranges from Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, and familiar kid friendly items like pizza. There's also the usual buffet fare: salads, soups, apps (izakaya, dim sum, sushi), main entrees, fish/seafood, desserts, and beverages. Some stuff were overdressed (surimi salad), greasy fried rice, mushy steamed rice, and some dumpling items were on the steam table maybe a tad too long. The dessert items were a bit dry, just stick with ice cream. Whatever - it's a basic buffet, not an overly memorable culinary adventure! For five of us, including three senior citizens, basic cost breakdown for food, beverage and dessert, including tax and tip was under $21 per person. Takeout is available and is charged by weight. Everyone can find something to eat and you don't have to do the dishes! I've never left hungry or suffered any buffet food poisoning during these several visits for over a decade. I hate myself for loving King Wok Buffet. Plentiful selections are constantly being refreshed with piping hot Asian (not just Chinese) fare, and thebstaff is friendly without being overbearing. I've not been able to try the Mongolian grill because I fill up too quickly on the awesome chicken wings and shrimp too quickly. The food is so good that I'll put up with styrofoam plates/cups and plastic silverware - but this review would be 5-star with real dishware. read more

I'll be back... This year instead of getting the family together at a relative's house and making a large traditional Thanksgiving dinner, we opted to all meet at King's Wok instead. Unfortunately, they only day of the year that they close is Thanksgiving day and so we chose to visit the following day. Black Friday. We called a few weeks in advance and they let us make a reservation which was comforting as we had a large group but did not know just how many people would actually attend. We arrived a little early and they were able to accomodate us. The place isn't as large as I had originally thought but there was enough room for our needs. The staff is very friendly and works diligently to make sure that things run smooth. I was a little disappointed with the variety of foods offered but I was impressed that the temperature of the food was warmer than any other asian buffet I've ever visited. I forgot to ask if they use MSG so that's on my list for next time and I opted to stick to the prepared food instead of utilizing the mongolian grill this trip as it's usually the best thing at any buffet. They offer somewhat of a caesar salad and they had two asian salads. A myriad of traditional Chinese/American dishes like General Tsao chicken, Yaki soba, Fried rice, Sweet & sour chicken etc... I wish they would have served real crab meat instead of imitation but I'm sure they have their reasons. They have a sushi chef on hand making fresh sushi and a cute little ice cream dispensary. The prices are the star of the show. They gave us a very nice senior discount for the elderly in our group but the regular prices are super reasonable as well. Silverdale is almost an hour from where I stay in Tacoma but I feel like we're gonna make King's Wok one of the stops on our regular restaurant rotation list. read more

They start charging Dinner prices after 3 PM. The dinner price is about $6 more than lunch and not really worth it. The food is Ok over all. I love seafood so naturally, I gravitate towards Chinese buffets for my seafood fix. I like King's Wok and go here almost every other week when am in Silverdale for work. I like the clams, shrimp, Korean short ribs, broccoli, green beans, eggrolls, and the grill. It's usually busy on Friday nights so food is fresh and refilled quickly. I also like having an ice cream cone at the end of my meal. The bathroom is decent and staff is pretty fast in clearing my table. For $17.49 (before tips) per person, it's actually not a bad place for dinner. If you want crab legs then go on Sundays. read more

My wife and I haven't been in this establishment for a long time, we decided to stop by for Sunday lunch. To our surprise they did not post any price on buffet, we found out it's $22 per person (senior citizens). Kind of spendy, I think I know why, they served crabs and various seafood. I think the price is to high for senior citizens who don't eat that much. Unless your going to eat a lot this place is not a place to go. Heck yeah I'm giving this place 5 stars! I'm giving King's Wok 5 stars because yep, it's as good as it gets around here! It's an Asian Buffet for heaven's sakes, it's not trying to be a gourmet restaurant. The goal of a buffet restaurant is to serve the freshest food possible with a wide variety to choose from that appeals to all tastes. They by far succeed at those goals. Even after reading the reviews, it's evident everybody agrees but it seems they're afraid to give the whole five stars - not me! We just celebrated my 50th birthday at King's Wok and there were 11 of us. We got to sit at the huge table in the back that spins and has "thrones" for chairs. I so wish I would have gotten a picture! I highly recommend this place for large parties! Not only are they able to accommodate super large parties but the price is phenomenal! Only $143 for as much food, drinks and desserts as all 11 of us could eat! Wow! We've eaten here more times than I can count and the food is always the same - Asian buffet! Talk about consistent! Most of the times we've been there they keep everything full but sometimes something is empty. Just ask and they'll fill it up right away. Also, if it doesn't look fresh enough for you, ask them to bring out fresh and they will. The selection is great with a wide variety of seafood, meat and chicken items. They even have pizza and fried chicken! It's not always the same items either, usually there are a few "new" items to try out. Alright all you sushi snobs out there, yes, it's what we call "baby" sushi! It's not the stuff you get at a sushi restaurant but it definitely satisfies my craving if I'm having one. It's very basic sushi and nigiri but it's also fresh. The greatest thing about it is that you can introduce ANYBODY to sushi and chances are they'll like it. And if they don't, you haven't spent $8-$10 on something nobody wants! It's all included in the low price of the buffet so sample away and just enjoy the fact that the Asian buffet has sushi at all! The Mongolian Grill addition was genius! My husband is now eager to go to King's Wok when I suggest it because he can even get a steak to order if he wants. No, it's not a steak house steak sillies, it's an Asian buffet steak!! They do a darned good job though and if you want a little steak with your baby sushi and crab legs and crab rangoon and orange chicken and broccoli beef and egg drop soup and blue slushie and cookies and cream ice cream then by golly, King's Wok is the place to go! My wife and I took her mother and sister and one of our grandsons to King's Wok this week and were very happy with what we found. The facility was well kept, the staff was polite and helpful, and the food was varied and of good quality. The prices (standard, plus two senior discounts, plus an under-16 discount) were reasonable and commensurate with the available food. I intend to return soon, and in fact, my wife's sister took her family to King's Wok the very next day. read more
