After I had some headache due to altitude during backpacking, I decided to rest a day in a hotel instead of keeping to camp. It was a good decision. Kings Inn had all basic stuff. Bed, wifi, and breakfast. The old reviews said no protein, but now boils eggs are provided! Good for hikers and I had 4 eggs. Excellent. Interesting lobby stages. I enjoyed the stay here. read more

Came from Montana for a little vacation in Cody. Are room was nice, it was clean! Only downside of the room was the bathroom was quite small. Also it said heated pool, not heated while we swam. $215 for a one-night stay in June. We had a long trip planned and brought a lot of food from home, so I was looking for a place with a mini fridge (check) and free breakfast (sorta check). There were basically muffins, cereal, juice/coffee and toast. No protein at all. So we were all starving about an hour later. But it was better than nothing. There was also the added benefit of a heated pool (which was glorious) and the stuffed African animals in the lobby, which my 5yo loved. The room was clean and comfortable. Check in and check out were seamless and the staff was friendly. I'd probably stay here again. read more

Fantastic assortment of African animals in the lobby of this 2 story motor lodge. No elevator. We were greeted in the lobby by Ohlanda who was friendly, efficient and extremely helpful. She accompanied our needs as we did not make the proper booking. Rooms are older but were clean. Assorted toiletries were available at the sink which is outside the bathroom. Makes it faster to get ready in the morning when someone is showering. Air conditioning cold but a little noisy. Good road stop for just an overnight. read more

I am an attorney from New York and have traveled out to Cody on vacation. I have traveled all of my life and this is the worst hotel experience I have ever endured.  No housekeeping services, no coffee, no soap, no shampoo, nothing. You charge full rates for 0 service. You should absolutely be ashamed of yourself to run such as an establishment that it's ripping off the public. No notice to the public of the lack of amenities even though all amenities are fully advertised. I will do everything in my power to let the public know what a disgrace you are to the hotel industry. You're using the Covid 19 pandemic as an excuse to cut services and yet maintain regular prices. No pool either. No breakfast.  This is a disgusting establishment with owners who are greedy and do not care about their reputation or their guests. Everyone know what a terrible, terrible operation the owners are running. I challenge you to respond to my honest and accurate portrayal of your sorry excuse for a hotel. read more

Keep driving!! This is not the place for a restful night. After check in , we were told to drive to the back entrance, that it would be closer to our room. We did and the back entrance had a rock propping it open. As we were parking, two guests were smoking weed in lawn chairs that set up in the parking lot. The hotel is like entering a time warp, back to the 80's. In our room, there were no amenities. No shampoo/conditioner, no coffee maker and we had to ask for more towels. I understand we are in a pandemic, but there were no amenities, yet you are paying as though there are... The noise level is also a bit loud. It sounded as though the people in the room above us were running laps. We could also hear entire conversations of those in the hallway. Will definitely look for another place when I come back to Cody. read more

Taking legal and banking action immediately: I booked this place for the night. Upon entering the lobby, I realized they were using cleaning products loaded with harmful chemicals and chlorine to which my wife is highly allergic. She immediately started heavily sneezing and having an itchy throat. I told them that it seemed obvious we could not stay for the night. By law, they are supposed to agree to a refund. They refused and told us they would keep the money regardless. They completely disregarded my wife's condition and mentioned the smell came from the pool when it actually came from the heavily chemical cleaning products they use. I am a very busy person, It would be cheaper for me to let go of the $140 they took, however I am also a decent person and considerate of my fellow travelers. I wouldn't wish anyone to have to suffer the same experience. Additionally, it is a matter of principle and moral decency that this place faces the consequences of their illegal actions & poor customer service. Poor customer service is paid back with a 1-star review on yelp. Illegal and unsanitary practices are paid back in a court of law. I will take whatever necessary action to ensure they do not get away with such terrible practices. It will probably cost more than $140. Cody deserves better. read more

Do not patronize this ruthless business. The owner took $250 of my money by not allowing me to change my date after I realized the booking website had reset the check in date to the next day instead of my desired date which was six weeks later. The booking company and I immediately made several attempts to change the date with Kings Inn (which would have even meant a higher rate and more money for them), but they weren't budging from their two-day cancellation policy and weren't allowing changes to the reservation. I've travelled on business for 30 years and have never seen a hotel actually use their policy to blatantly cheat a customer. Please do not stay here. Show your support for customer-friendly hotels and avoid the Kings Inn at all cost. read more

Great stay. Shower curtain new. Towels looked new. Very clean! Two stars why? Really??? I have stayed in seven hotels over the last seven days and this one is by far the best. And for those of you who are unhappy that there was no breakfast...most hotels are not serving breakfast go to McDonald's it's right down the street. Loved the animal trophies in the lobby. It's located about an 1hr and 35 minutes away from the Yellowstone East Entrance. Only stayed here for a night. The decor is definitely unique, they have taxidermy animals in there. Was a bit like diving into the safari haha. Definitely don't forget to take pictures with the Lions and elephant. They do not have an elevator and only have two levels. Either way the price was reasonable for what you get. Breakfast was limited and wasn't that great tbh. The deal breaker in me coming back was stains on my pillow. I know, it seems snobby but I judge hotels by the whiteness of their sheets because it's a good indicator as to how clean they are. Overall an average place. read more

We had to stop by Cody, Wyoming on the way to Mount Rushmore from Yellowstone. I was very skeptical due to 2 star hotel rating. However, the place was much better than our expectation. It was clean, rooms are decent size and mattresses were comfortable! Staff was friendly and they were able to accommodate 2 connecting rooms so we can supervise our children. Bathroom sink drained very slow in our room, and the breakfast biscuit and gravy wasn't the best, but plenty of other things to eat. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend it to others. read more

Worst place to ever stay!!! They charged us an extra $416.00 for having a dog in the room and we did not even have our dog with us on vacation it was 1500 miles away. I told them to look at the cameras and you will see we did NOT have our dog with us. He says they do not record the video so he is not able to look. I asked him to send me a photo of the sheet that they had with fur on it he says no. I spoke to the manager Levi and I informed him I would like to speak to the owner when he would not help me. He told me he does not know who the owner is and has worked there over a year and never met the owner. I would not recommend staying at this hotel if you do not want to have to pay an extra charge. The only way to stay at a hotel is to give them a major credit card but it is not supposed to be giving them a blank check practically for fraudulent charges. On this vacation we stayed at 5 other hotels and never had any problems with any of the others. read more

This place has a nice atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful. This place doesn't have an elevator however the concierge helped us hull our luggage up to the 2nd floor. The rooms were clean except for the carpet I was surprised when I read that the owners installed new carpet during a remodel. The rooms have A/C however in the hallways, lobby and breakfast area no A/C or at least it wasn't turned on. We were visiting from Michigan read more
