After my first, I've been perusing what would be the best style for my second (I really wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to my cat, Matcha). I instantly fell in love and as fate has it, there was an inspo photo of an omamori with jiji (from kiki's) and cherry blossoms that hit my instagram. Instantly, I knew that this is the style I would like so I messaged Yeonnie and she responded quick. She will do the sketch a day before your appointment (you'll get a cute sketch by midday) and you can request any changes. I absolutely adored the edition of my cartooni-fied cat. Such as it may not come out the way I want it, or over time, those are the quickest tattoos to fall apart. I know over time, I can always have an artist re tattoo it. Dan was able to fit me in. Although he gave me the whole spiel, he got ruined the work. I showed him another style from another artist. He recreated it his own way, and I got a tattoo created right there. In addition, a little lesson in tattoo techniques and other artists. He was very authentic, patient, and caring while doing my tattoo. Dan takes pride in his work and his ability to execute what his clients want. I can't wait to do some more work with him.

I chose this studio because of the great reviews and the botanical fine line work displayed on both Anastasiia's Instagram and the studio website. I submitted a detailed booking request for a minimal, realistic black and gray lilac tattoo that would age well and not become dark or blotchy over time. This tattoo was meant to honor my grandmother, so it was extremely meaningful to me. I also received a second memorial tattoo during the same session, a tattoo of my dog's ears. Unfortunately, from the moment I arrived, the experience felt rushed and deeply unprofessional. There was no consultation process whatsoever. Instead of sitting down with me to review references, discuss style, placement, or overall goals, Anastasiia immediately disappeared into another room to sketch and returned with designs before we had any discussion about the tattoos. The first lilac sketches looked cartoony, bunchy, and did not resemble lilacs at all. During the appointment, Anastasiia admitted that she was not familiar with lilacs, which was shocking to hear from an artist specializing in botanical tattoos. I pulled up lilac reference photos myself and offered multiple times to send them to her directly, but she declined to use them and continued sketching without them. There were repeated corrections around the leaf shape, branch structure, and overall flow of the lilac piece, as well as the memorial tattoo of my dog's ears. With the dog tattoo, Anastasiia repeatedly traced the ears inaccurately and added lines that did not exist in the reference photo. I had to repeatedly correct the design so it would actually resemble my dog. At the same time, Anastasiia told me she had another appointment afterward and was worried about time. Because there had already been so many corrections and communication issues, I offered multiple times to stop and come back another day so the tattoos could be completed carefully instead of being rushed. She declined to pause and continued tattooing anyway. One of the biggest issues is that the lilac tattoo was placed on my inner arm, making it extremely difficult to fully see the flower anatomy while it was still in stencil form and actively being tattooed. Between the repeated revisions, rushed atmosphere, and communication problems, I was trying to resolve obvious structural issues while trusting Anastasiia's expertise to execute the botanical details accurately and in the style shown in her portfolio. Once we finally took a break and I was able to properly look at the tattoo, I realized the flowers did not resemble lilacs at all. I raised these concerns immediately and tried to collaborate on ways to move the tattoo in a more accurate direction, including suggesting realistic lilac buds and turned petals. Instead, Anastasiia continued adding dark, blotchy shading that I had specifically requested to avoid from the beginning. The final result does not resemble the realistic botanical lilac tattoo I repeatedly requested and referenced throughout the process. The most upsetting part is that I trusted her completely because of the beautiful work displayed in her portfolio, the studio website, and the reviews. Her studio profile literally says to "trust her to create your next stunning tattoo and experience her passion for perfecting each detail." Unfortunately, that level of care, communication, preparation, and attention to detail did not reflect my experience at all. Afterward, despite extensive communication and documentation of my concerns, both Anastasiia and Ada, the owner, declined to take responsibility or accountability for the outcome, refused any financial resolution, and ultimately told me to seek another artist. I am now left with a permanent tattoo that brings me sadness every time I look at it and will require expensive and painful laser treatment and corrective work by another artist to fix. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was genuinely devastating.

Fun signage outside…read more I had a really great experience for my first tattoo. Not only was I getting something pretty small (and quick) but everyone made us feel super comfortable. The place was clean and well lit. They cleaned and sanitized and used gloves when necessary. They had a $150 minimum. I Had never heard of that, but apparently it's common. I showed what I wanted. They designed it. Asked about placement, size, colors, etc. Diego was pleasant and professional, kinda funny too. My sister had Ryan who she thought was lovely too, he even chatted with us for a while after. My sisters and I got matching circles on our ankles and it came out cute. Since I was there I also got a small heart on my wrist. If you're in the east village, check them out.
