I recommend Kingdom Vacuum. I've had really good experiences the three times that I've been there. I've had a Miele serviced/fixed. Yesterday, I purchased a new vacuum cleaner and Nick listened to what I was looking for (over the phone) and offered me 2 bonus incentives with a purchase of a new machine. When I showed up, everything went smoothly, as promised. The staff were very nice. I had to get my sewing machine fixed and they were able to fix it within minutes. The price was great also. I only paid $35 whereas other stores were charging me $90 just to even look at my machine. They were very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. If I need a vacuum, I'll definitely go to them also since they are very honest and I'd feel like I'd get a great value if I buy from them. I am astonished at the level of honesty and ethics shown at Kingdom Vacuum and Sewing! I brought my Singer 534 (with one broken gear I knew about) to them, and after evaluating it they gave me a quote for replacing the one gear, but recommended replacing four. (This is a realistic suggestion. The gears in question are plastic. After 40 years, if one has become embrittled, the other 3 are not far behind, IMO as a retired aerospace engineer.) After hearing the quote for four gears, the price, while not unreasonable, was too high for me to pay at the time. They did not try to "up sell" me, and didn't charge me for the evaluation. I will definitely return for any future sewing machine or vacuum problems! read more

Today we went in to get help with our new vacuum, because we couldn't figure out how to put the last parts together. The woman there was friendly and helpful. The guy, however, was really rude. He had no time to help despite the fact that we offered to pay him for his time. He repeatedly told us to just read the manual. He slammed the vacuum around in showing us a feature. And then he unplugged it and threw the cord on the machine. All because we didn't buy it from him. All we needed was a thirty second fix. He said, "I don't help you if you buy direct." Obviously we will never get anything repaired there, nor buy anything either. I would caution anyone else who wants to get their stuff repaired, too. Bottom line: He may lose business to online shopping, but he sure as heck isn't going to gain any by treating potential customers like that. Old fashioned customer service, folks. read more

I called today to see if by chance they were able to sew a patch on a denim vest for me litterally like yesterday. Janae accepted the challenge and I dropped off the vest. Within the hour she called me and said it was done. I have to tell you that this small business went WAY out of their way to help me and my family after my mother suffered a paralyzing stroke before she even got a chance to use the new sewing machine my dad bought her from Pilar and Nick. They had absolutely nothing to gain and were under no legal obligation, but made a choice to be kind and compassionate, even though it was a sacrifice they could not well afford. I have come here for years and the service is excellent. I bought my first exceptional vacuum cleaner here and I have now bought another after over 10 years of good service from the one vacuum cleaner. I went for regular service check ups as was recommended and that was included on the warranty. I called and not only were they open, but they waited for me to bring my machine, had it back to me the next day, all fixed and serviced. I took my 1960's era Kenmore sewing machine to Kingdom because it was overheating and running like a Sherman tank. They discovered that the motor was sparking, and replaced it, then did a thorough cleaning and servicing. I set it up to sew yesterday and it runs like a brand-new machine! Brought my sewing machine here to get repaired and the owner Pilar did a great job! He explained to me what the issue was and all it needed was a basic tune up. He even gave me a brief 101 on how to use my own machine lol. Now it works the way it's suppose to! The only small issue was the $80 fee :/ which is kind of expensive for a basic tune up. Wish they would have separate prices according to each individual repair/tune up and not just a flat base price. But other than that I'm a happy and satisfied customer. read more

I have been bring my sewing machines for close to 20 years. They have repaired and refurbished all of them. Last year, in the middle of the Crazy, I was having problems with the sewing machine. I brought it in (within the 90-day garrantee !!) and they fixed right there and then: the bobbin was placed in backwards. A second time? I had the wrong bobbin in it. Suffice it to say that I was never embarrassed by them. Besides, I do embarrassment really good all by myself! read more

They are worth the short drive to Reseda Blvd. near Nordoff Ave. I went to two different vacuum stores before I called Kingdom. Both of them were a little unfriendly and they both quoted me over twice the price as Kingdom as well as they did Not offer me alternatives to help solve my problem. Kingdom gave me three different possible solutions in addition to offering a new machine option. I gave Kingdom the job at a very satisfactory price and even ended up buying supplies which totaled well over what I would have spent at the other stores. I have a clog in the bottom part of my vacuum and I'm disabled so I can't get to it. I called and they refused to give me any idea of their prices. They said I had to bring the vacuum in for an estimate. Surely if they work on vacuums and they know what make and model mine is they could give me an idea of how much it would cost to clear a clog! If it's something else then I understand that the price might be different. It's very difficult for me to carry and load the vacuum in my car and take it there if I'm not going to be able to afford to have it fixed. read more

Kingdom Vacuum & Sewing were listed as authorized dealers for the Janome sewing machine and I knew that I wanted to purchase my computerized sewing machine from a store instead of online. I decided to venture here based on reviews and this store provides training for the life of your machine. The moment I entered I was greeted, no asked how they can be of service. I came prepared with a list of what I wanted in a machine (as this would be an upgrade for me), so I wanted all the automatic perks. I also indicated the brand and model I was interested. Based on my list the sales rep, Janae, also suggested two additional machines with my specs (one w one less feature). It was down to two machines the Janome and a Baby Lock. Janae was so patient with me answering all my questions, helping test the machine (and test some more). Plus they were having a sale! After some more testing (this was needed as this was an investment and the machines were not cheap) I decided on the Baby Lock. All in all, I'm glad I came here. The customer service was great! I didn't feel pressured to buy or to up sell me on a higher model. Will be coming back in August for my one-on-one training. Go there if you are in the market for a sewing machine! read more

We know nothing about sewing, but we came to the right place. We had taken on the task of sewing for our high school band, (and we are not sewers). We had 2 singer $99 sewing machines, that we eventually destroyed. We needed them repaired ASAP, so we called around. First of all after calling 4 places, and hearing "our repair man comes in 3 days a week", we were ready to give up. Our final call was to Tim (the owner) of Kingdom Vacuum and Sewing. We will never need to call another place, and you won't either. It was 4PM, and he said "come on in, and I will take a look at your sewing machines". We brought the ($99) machines in, and after diagnosing them, we realizes they were history. We had a feeling this was the case. He immediately took us over to a "real" sewing machine, and spent as much time as we needed to explain to us the basics of sewing. After only a few minutes with Tim, we realized what our mistakes were with the other machine. He had a "floor" model available, of the "Nice" one that we had tried, for a very affordable price. I then asked him about the warranty on the "floor model", and he extended me the same warranty as if it were a new machine. We were already sold on the machine ($179), then we find out they have a lovely lady working there named Mary, that offers sewing classes each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to anyone that has bought a machine here ( for FREE). And Tim threw in a few sets of sewing needles ( 2 different sizes for the specific jobs that we had). NEVER any pressure to buy anything. I know, this is a long review, but I feel you need to know all the information. If you are looking for an honest, helpful sewing and vacuum store, you can stop now. Tim and his staff are the absolute best!! I have several Viking embroidery/sewing machines and I had tried more than 4 different places to work on my machines and was never satisfied. Tim's shop was recommended to me by the owner of Baron's Fabrics and I almost did not go because Reseda is not close to me. I am certainly glad I made the trip there!!! I have finally found "THE" place to work on my Viking machines. Tim does what needs to be done to provide excellent customer service. I even bought a new machine (well, new to me!) machine from him.
