Kingdom Kafe is located inside the flea market on Cleveland Street in Gary, IN. If you're not familiar with the area, you might be thrown off by the parking lot, but don't let that deter you from entering. The flea market is clean, and everyone is friendly. Kingdom Kafe is situated in the far back right corner of the market.
This place has seating and a counter for ordering. My dad is a regular, and all he has to do is sit down for them to know exactly what to bring him, it's pretty crazy! You order and pay at the counter, and then your food is brought out to you. The portions are generous, and the food is decent. My sister and I felt that the pancakes were overbeaten, resulting in a spongy texture with a slight aftertaste. The hashbrowns filled half the plate, which I appreciated, and the eggs were fine with just a little salt and pepper.
We did have a pesky fly that kept bothering us, but overall, it was an acceptable place to eat. My dad loves it because of the portions and the price. The kitchen area could be a bit cleaner, but I think they do the best they can with what they have. When I'm in town, if my dad wants to go back, I'll definitely join him. read more
