It may seem odd to some people but thats just how it is for a small town joint like this. With that out of the way, Tony's sandwiches are very good, they don't really have the best anything but nothing here is bad. I personally love their chicken wraps with Tony's amazing house dressing. Make sure you get an order of "spicy"(seasoned) fries to go with any sandwich. Now for the pizza, I love Tony's pizza. The sauce isn't as sweet as a lot of chicago pizza and they never scrimp on toppings. I don't care for sausage in general but Tony's in known for their sausage pizza and even I can tell its really good. You simply can't beat the price. A small cheese pizza is 9" and comes in at under $7. This makes buying a frozen pizza in beecher a ridiculous notion. A quick note about their catering. Having lived in Beecher most of my life I've been to dozens upon dozens of events catered by Tony's and its always a solid choice. Chicken (don't be scared off by the other reviewer.) Italian sausage, Italian beef, Mostaccioli etc. Really its almost pointless to write a review of Tony's because almost everyone in Beecher and the neighboring towns knows this place, but I just couldn't stand to see such a low rating because of one guy who came in too late.

A Deeply Disappointing Customer-Service Experience…read more Among many wonderful experiences, there are unfortunately times when an experience is simply horrible. That is the only way I can describe the customer service I received at Chuck Wheeler's Vienna Beef Hot Dog Stand in Gary, Indiana. After waiting approximately one hour, I began placing my order with a young lady at the counter. Although I had already told her what I wanted, she asked her coworker to take my order instead. I found this odd, but I remained patient. She then looked at me with what appeared to be disgust and, although she seemed to be hoarse, yelled at me. Surprised by her behavior, I said, "Wow, I waited an hour for these hot dogs, and now I'm not sure I should have waited." She immediately snapped at me and said, "You are not going to disrespect me." She then refused to continue serving me and began taking the order of the person standing behind me while I was still at the counter. I stood there in complete disbelief. The cashier looked at her coworker, then back at me, and finally said, "Ma'am, she is not going to serve you." When I did not respond immediately, she repeated it. I want to be clear: I did not yell, curse, threaten, or disrespect this employee. I was simply shocked by the way I was being treated. If she was not feeling well or was unable to assist customers appropriately that day, she should not have taken her frustration out on me. I am originally from Gary and had returned home for my family reunion. All I wanted was a taste of the past and an opportunity to support a local Gary establishment. Instead, I left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. This establishment is in serious need of improved customer-service training and a reminder that every customer deserves to be treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect. No customer should wait an hour only to be yelled at, ignored, and refused service without justification. I sincerely hope management addresses this situation so that no other customer is treated the way I was.

The service was excellent, the owner was so sweet, the old vault/bank ambiance was so cool & the food was amazing. Some honorable mentions by our large family include: Fried mushrooms, fried pickles, the blaze burger, the Reuben sandwich, the rodeo burger, & our kids favorite, chicken tenders and Curley fries. The bar is located along a cool wooden sidewalk close to another bar that never seems to be open. Basic looking kind of small town bar. It may seem kind of rough, but the bartender the last time was friendly. The bar is bigger than it looks. Has a few tables and games. They're known in town for slots. Got a whiskey and Coke. It's about $5 for a mixed drink. The food isn't anything special. Has potato chips. Maybe they have more but they didn't seem to. Plenty of TVs to watch games. There's also enough room for live music. Has to be one of the few decent places to hang out around here. It fits in with the community for sure. There's a couple tables if you want to sit down but there's not a lot of dining space so you're better off ordering to go. I called around noon time for a jerk chicken lunch which the friendly lady on the line said would be ready in ten minutes. I live about fifteen minutes from there so I immediately left home to pick it up. My meal was there waiting for me when I arrived. The service was great as well when paying for the meal. The lunch portion included red bean & rice along with cabbage. Overall everything tasted great and it definitely tasted like jerk (not bbq) chicken. The jerk sauce container was very tiny but thankfully the meal was flavorful enough that you didn't need the sauce. I was wishing though I had a little more food but I was satisfied so it was just enough. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other offerings.
