S06. General Tso's Chicken Lo Mein

I was a little skeptical based on some of the reviews about poor service, but I decided to see for myself. I was pleased by the kind and prompt service (they were not busy when I arrived). The food was fresh and hot and the chicken had a nice crunch under the sauce! I would definitely recommend giving it a try. I will be back.

Holy crap. I'm used to mediocre Chinese food. This was not terrible. The soup was bad but whatever. The fried rice was ok. The szechuan chicken was literally mostly onions. I kinda like onions and after reading several reviews complaining about nothing but onions I figured it was picky eaters. Nope! Nothing but onions lmfao! Kind of strange honestly. Overall it's edible and late at night not terrible but other options might be better.

This is my first time trying King Wok, since the kids and I wanted to try someplace new for Chinese. I ordered General Tso Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, a double order of Crab Rangoon and an order of Egg Rolls online through their website for delivery. Although the order confirmation that was emailed to me stated it would be delivered in 30-45 minutes, after an hour and a half I called to see what the deal was and was told it was on its way. I guess it must've just been a standard time stamp they send out with all the delivery orders, and about 10 minutes after I called, the food arrived. Here are my not-so-great first impressions: * The food was warm, but not hot. It wasn't to the point where I needed to throw it in the microwave, but it was enough that the crispiness of the Crab Rangoon and Egg Rolls had paid the price for it. * Even though I ordered (AND PAID EXTRA FOR) fried rice, neither of the orders showed up with anything but white rice. * When I ordered online, I typed in the "comments" section to please include a menu. We didn't get one. Also, there where no eating utensils (of any kind), condiments, fortune cookies or napkins. So, now onto the review: The Beef and Broccoli was about what you'd expect. It's nothing to be remembered one way or the other, but the broccoli was fresh, the beef was tender and the brown sauce was flavorful enough to keep from having any complaints about. The (non-fried) rice was a sticky clump of madness that was more than likely cooked the day before and would be better used to roll sushi than served as the side to main course dishes. The Egg Rolls were probably better during the first 45 minutes after they came out of the fryer, but since I didn't get the chance to try them during that window of opportunity, I'm just guessing at this point. It's kinda tricky to review them in the state that I received them, because it's really a combined flavor+texture experience that's needed. In the end, I'd say they were okay but not nearly flavorful enough to counterbalance the slightly doughy wanton shell. The Crab Rangoon kind of suffered a similar fate. Not quite as crispy as I'm sure they once were. The flavor wasn't bad, though. For my tastes, I like Crab Rangoon to have a good balance of savory and sweet. Too savory and it takes the joy out of the whole thing. Too sweet and I feel like it's trying to be a dessert. All in all, I thought they struck a good balance, even if they landed a little more on the sweet-side. The kids ate the General Tso's, and from what I'm told it was "okay". They said that even though it was drenched generously in sauce, the chicken seemed over-cooked and not very tender. There were quite a few fresh broccoli crowns mixed in with the chicken, but they were cursed with the same (non-fried), compressed, rice madness as me. The price for everything wasn't cheap enough to make up for the looooong wait, or the state of the food when it finally showed up. I might try King Wok again if we were going to be eating at the restaurant or carrying it out ourselves, but there's just no way I'd order it again for delivery.

General Tso's, perfectly spicy; crab rangoon, sweet and crispy; and the rangoon sauce is incredible. Highly recommended you try this place

I can only speak for the sesame chicken, crab Rangoon, and soup. All good and reasonably priced. Fast delivery too.

It's cheap... but food is slopped together. Not very flavorful or taste. This is for broke week. Ordered spicy shrimp lunch.

TLDR: 2 stars bc the food was ok, but still won't go back…read more I have ordered takeout and off the menu. I used to do the buffet, but got sick the last 2 times I tried it, so no more. This is one of the only places I can get honey sesame chicken though, so I continued to go here to order that from the menu. I hadn't been for quite a while due to a medical issue, and it turns out, I should have stayed away. From the moment I parked, it was a hot mess express. There were not enough handicapped spots for the # of businesses in the strip mall for starters, but that isn't really the restaurant's fault. On the plus side, they have redone the seating since I was last here and it was decently comfortable, but that's where the positive comments will end. The smell that hit me when I walked inside was horrendous, not a great start. I asked for a menu and the young women appeared VERY put out that I wanted to order from the menu; she kept saying "buffet" over and over, and I kept saying, "no, I need the menu please." I wanted to see if there was a combo for the honey sesame chicken. She finally brought over the menu and there was in fact a combo for the HSC, but all of the prices had been marked out with a sharpie. I pointed to the combo I wanted and asked how much and she gave me an odd look and raised her shoulders like she didn't understand me. I figure I was getting it anyway so I went ahead and ordered a coke and the HSC with fried rice; they have also always switched out the crab rangoon for an extra scoop of rice so I asked for that. The young lady took my order and left. A few minutes later, a young man brought me my drink and said. "no fried rice." I asked if he meant I could not sub it and he said "no fried rice, only white in combo." Me: "So let me get this straight, if I order the combo, I can't get fried rice?" Him: "no fried rice, only white rice. No 2 scoop." Me: "So I can't get rice instead of crab rangoon either?" Him: "no no no. No change, no fried rice." At this point I was super annoyed and just said fine, whatever. Just bring me the HSC for as cheap as you can. I'm hungry. The waitress came back with a gigantic plate, overflowing with HSC, and a teeny tiny little bowl of steamed rice, Not even enough for me to get full while sitting there in the restaurant, let alone enough to take home with the 2+ portions of HSC that were left over when I ran out of rice. You can't tell me it is less expensive to give a ridiculously large portion of chicken and minimal rice! I ate until I ran out of rice, never got a refill on my coke (they all ignored our table after dropping off the food), and left (still hungry) with 3/4 of the chicken in a take-out box, knowing I wouldn't eat it unless I bought rice to make. All of this, for the bargain price of almost $30, just for ONE PERSON! Never again.

IF I COULD GIVE NO STARS AT ALL I WOULD. I will never come to this bs again. I am a very…read moreconservative and well mannered person so this is where I need to let someone know I'm not to have my kindness taken for weakness. With that being said my first issue is that I walked in with my wife and I got seated and my straws were practically tossed to us on the table with an attitude. The women (server) gave me the most inattentive and disrespectful up and down "checking me" type of look. My wife noticed this and decided to play it nice and gave the women a compliment on her jade bangle because she is well rounded. The women's attitude instantly changed and she became very happy and willing. I did eat everything I got. So when it came to the end things got weird. The power went out and at that point I was done. I wanted to leave so we came around to trying to pay. The environment was not welcoming at this point. After I paid the server basically needed me to sign the receipt so I did and the lady wanted me to write the total .... I couldn't have smiled any harder out of disbelief because no I was not giving a tip. I've had better servers on a bad day compared to whoever this women was. My wife was also not satisfied with the food alone and whatever it was cooked in because it gave it a weird taste. I APPRECIATE the young woman up front that was younger and attentive to the situation... she even said that that lady is always like that to people.
