Amazing that they have enough security forces to make any Police Department jealous, but can't afford to have anyone, and I mean anyone, available to open the locked cases for cosmetics or laundry detergent. I can't agree more with the 1 star ratings for this King Soopers on Alameda and Wadsworth. It is good but not great during daytime hours but once it hits 6:30p-and later the employees are somewhat clueless. There is always different cashiers in the evening. The customer service desk is NEVER open and as far as the cashiers being willing to try and help or answer a question...again, clueless. Or they simply do not care. I feel like corporate just hires people off the street. It definitely has bad service. Next to no service as far as cashiers go. Actually all the departments. If it's after 7p, all the departments are closed. Meat department-Closed. Bakery department-closed. Customer service- closed. I mean really, at this point, why even have the store open??? Better than most with selection and cleaniness. Staff spend too much time chit chatting with each other, especially the younger employees, esp at check out. Security is kind of a joke: sometimes they check your receipt, sometimes not. Security has never been rude to me. A lot of employees and subcontractors spend too much time on their phones when they are apparently supposed to be working! They sent me a text saying my prescription was ready so I left the office to pick it up. What they neglected to share was that they were closing for lunch and when I arrived I had to wait 30 minutes for them to take lunch before I could get the meds I needed. There were 5 security guards in store, all of them visiting and looking at their cell phones. King Soopers spends money on guards but not on cashiers and someone to bag groceries. There was one cashier and no one to bag groceries today. The people stocking shelves block the aisles, so you cannot get your cart thru to shop. This store puts labels on anything that can't be bagged, but can't be bothered to do the same with a $16 bottle of detergent? I can understand locking beauty supplies up. They're small and can be put in pockets, purses, etc. But a $16 bottle of detergent? Do people honestly smuggle these out under their coats? Additionally, if these items must be locked up, why does it take 20 minutes to get someone to unlock the cabinet? I had shopped here several times in the past, before and after the expansion. My opinion has not changed. The store and parking lots are poorly designed and the store appeared to be dirty. It was hard navigating down the store aisles due to the placement of items which blocked certain areas. I waited for in line at the customer service desk for 10 minutes due to the fact that there was only one person handling the customers as well as the phones. Even though there were several checkout lanes, only 3 were staffed. All in all, I cannot recommend this location. read more

Okay fine.. they got rid of plastic bags.. good work! Good follow through..!! Now they do have paper which is funny because I remember a time when they asked you, "Paper or plastic?" .. Now we bring our own bags and when it comes to filling them up, they cram everything into one bag.. I usually have one bag that's pretty big.. but it doesn't mean that you put everything into it..!! I think there used to be signs on the checkout counter directed at the bagger.. ***5 items per bag!*** Of course they have that "One" ham fisted bagger who just likes to cram stuff into that one big bag I have.. "I have four bags Chester!!.. use them all, spread it out!! And no..NO..STOP! .. DO NOT put heavy objects on top of the eggs!!...Sorry, I didn't mean to yell!!" PLEASE! Just pay attention okay employees at the Belmar KS..? (or any KS)..The cashier may have been there over 20 years, and knows better, but the newer bagging staff needs a little more training.. this is why I tend to go to self checkout. Also, they have a tendency to want to "get you through the line" .. I don't mind waiting a minute or two longer to make sure everything is done right and done carefully. Oh..and self-checkout attendants.. stop gabbing and pay attention!! (That's mainly towards the Wads/Jewell KS employees.. that's another Yelp review I have to write to them in particular..) There's other things I can make suggestions on.. like the "less than stellar" condition of most of the shopping carts, but that's relatively minor. I have friends who work at other KS stores.. I'm sure it's different at their establishments. The positives? Never really had any problems at the meat counters.. butchers or on another level it seems. The deli counter? Give or take. This is the worst pharmacy in town. They never have the medication we need, and they didn't order in a timely manner. They sent me a text saying that my Prescription would be ready On a certain day and then when I went to pick it up - they hadn't ordered it yet! They can't seem to handle their business - their fax machine was broken and couldn't receive scripts and it took them days to fix it. They also cannot take Apple Pay despite it being advertised on their site. read more

Not a good pharmacy. They couldn't figure out my insurance so they just didn't apply it and never told me till I went to a different king Soopers pharmacy. They are super slow. Unless you go in in person and tell them you need to He prescription today, it sometimes takes them a couple days to process a prescription. Again, I tried to order chicken from the deli after work and there was nothing available and the boys working (seriously couldn't be older than 17) told me they "didn't know if there'd be more chicken that night." Mind you, this was at 05:45 PM. Not to mention, all of the side dishes were just empty scalded pans (burnt-on potato scraps along with the Mac-n-Cheese and the green bean water). Gross. What sort of grocery store deli never has food prepared during normal times for when people actually want/need it? I'm not asking for a family meal at 2 AM. It's pretty good and has a slightly above-average assortment of groceries and supplies to purchase...I have no complaints, but it tends to be somewhat crowded during the afternoons. I was always able to find what I needed and get out in *relatively* short order. Watch out for the a-holes in oversized pickups barrelling through the parking lot at 30mph when you back up -- plenty of those here. read more

My husband had a custom deli sandwich made there the other day (which took the deli tech roughly 2.7 hours to make), and when he mentioned "sliced black olives" as one of the things he'd like on it, the other deli tech on duty sneered, "what do you think this is, Subway?" Needless to say, sandwich toppings as exotic and wild as-- *gasp* --black olives aren't an option at King Soopers. Oh, and to add insult to injury, the ghetto-ass sandwich that we easily could've made at home rang up at a whopping $6.88! Newsflash: you can get a WAY BETTER sandwich custom-made at the Belmar Whole Foods across the street for less than that. The pharmacy staff at this location is terrible. The female manager never ever smiles. You can stand there for two minutes straight and she knows it, but she will not acknowledge you. When she finally does she doesn't even bother looking up from her computer screen, just mutters "someone will be with you in a moment." Other staff openly sneer when you ask them to do something. I hate coming here, and intend on changing my pharmacy altogether. Worse yet is parking. It's downright terrible. People constantly jockeying for position, cars darting to cut into line, etc. Accidents are always waiting to happen. My blood pressure literally spikes when I come here. Not worth it. read more

This store has designated all Click List pick up spots in actual parking spots. All closest to the store. Some seem to be closer than the handicap spots. When I questioned management why they are using prime spots for customers who are not even getting out of their cars, they told me it was easier for their employees. Lol. Aw man, this parking lot blows. I'm sure that when Lakewood and BelMar weren't a "thing," that this size of a Soopers and lot to pair it with were perfectly adequate, but now that this has become a bit of a hub, this central grocery store just heaves at the seams with weary, grumpy shoppers. So, if you can make it through the parking lot without wanting to kill someone, you've done something special. Inside, all the aisles are crowded at all times of the day and night. I've never really had to ask for help here, but I rarely see staff around. Because dealing with the whole shopping experience here makes me so grumpy, I usually opt for the self-check, so I haven't really had to interact much with employees, but whenever I make a self-check blunder and my little light bleeps, the impersonal and brief interactions I have with the people of the Soops are always perfectly normal and what you would expect in a grocery store. Waste some gas and drive a little further to another grocery store where you won't get so irritated with your fellow man. read more

This store is really well run, never a wait at the cash registers, clean and bright. Product nicely displayed and super friendly staff. The parking lot is a tad clumsy, true, and the swing items (seasonal) are shockingly over-priced. But the day to day items are well priced and well socked. I have worked in the Southwest side of Chicago for a couple of years. If anything I know what ghetto means & parking lot of this particular King Soopers is not ALL ghetto. If I can stay parked with my windows rolled down at any time of the day here, that too with my toddler, that means the parking lot is safe. Other than that, this King Soopers is open 24/7. Is always busy no matter what. Staff seems to be just okay. And like many of its siblings has the convenient money transfer company Western Union as well. read more

I was doing some research for a project, not bothering anybody, just taking down some product notes I had and the manager start following me around the store and asking me intrusive questions and trying to get me to leave the store. I can't believe the lack of customer service and lack of manners with a consumer! I have been shopping at this store regularly for over a year but after today, I have no desire to go back. David one the managers was incredibly rude and aggressive towards me and getting me to leave his store when I was merely walking around. Judging by the latest reviews I'm not telling you anything you don't already know. Store is usually torn apart early in the morning. Produce looks less than appealing. Stock is low. The things that urk me the most are I can't get through the aisles because of stock, there's things like jars of pickles and yogurts on the floor. Employees walk around listening to their headphones without a care in the world. They don't even recognize the people or surroundings. I need to find a new place to shop. read more

This King Soopers does not have a lot of the items that other Soopers do in the Denver Metro area which is a disappointment. However, it's the closest grocery to my boyfriends house that sells the gauntlet of food varieties other then Whole Foods and last time I checked my bank account I wasn't rich. So here is my story: Monday night I wanted Baked Penne Pesto. We head out in the "snow storm" to the grocery. I had in mind a pesto I had bought at the King Soopers on Belleview & Kipling; they don't have it of course. What they do have is a selection of 2 pestos (excluding the jars in the italian aisle). I pick one that I know will work and start the cheese hunt. I find some Fontinella cheese which is normally pretty price but it's on sale for $3.99! Um... score!!!! So I head up to the self check out. When I ring up the cheese it says $5.49... that's not the price listed. So I tell the clerk it isn't ringing up the correct amount. She sends someone back for a price check and I am starting to think to myself: "What if I read the wrong price on the wrong sign or something? Oh I am such an a-hole". The price check gal comes back that it did say $3.99 to the main clerk. The clerk tells me the sale had ended yesterday and they forgot to remove the sale sign so she is giving me the cheese for free. What for free? I was happy paying the $3.99 but free is even better. Older store that could handle the local populace before Belmar became a thing. With the influx of thousands of new inhabitants, the local area has become much more packed. Insanely packed perhaps? The store has your typical fare, nice staff, and a decent location as a whole. But if you come here between 8am and 7pm, you're fighting for a parking spot, fighting for a cart, fighting to get in and out of the area. Too busy now unfortunately. read more

This store is horrible. Every time we go they are out of sushi and refuse to make more, instead giving us fake excuses . In fact the sushi bar says it's open till 6 pm but rarely is staffed past 430. The hot food is gone by 430 as well most nights. There is no salad bar and the meat selections are poor at best. read more

I've gone to this King Soopers for many years, so I'm used to the selection of stuff available. The cashiers are friendly. However, they do not nearly have enough of them for their busy periods. It seems like those times are predictable, yet they never have enough cashiers to handle the lines. If you need a prescription filled, I recommend going somewhere else if you value your time. The only place you don't usually have to wait is to drop off your prescription. Be prepared to wait at least an hour to have your prescription filled. If you drop it off more in the afternoon and evening, they'll most likely have it done the next day. And when it is done, you get to wait in a long line to pick it up and pay for it. Every time I go there (for regular shopping), the line for the pharmacy is usually 3-5 people long. Make sure you check your prescription to ensure that it's yours. There are times my father received someone else's medication because they have similar names. read more

My doctor's office sent them a refill 4 days ago and confirmed that it showed as "received", my King Soopers online prescription history changed then to show that I have refills available and that it is due to be refilled today, and yet on the phone they are repeatedly telling me they "don't see anything". My doctor's office said to have them call to confirm this and they refused to do so. My online profile would not have changed to show refills UNLESS they had received it, nor would my profile with my doctor's office show that I have refills, UNLESS they had sent it. Despite all the evidence showing they had received and confirmed receipt of my prescription, they are not only denying it, they are claiming they see nothing and can't do anything about it and that it is my responsibility and my doctor's to prove receipt. I seem to have one form or another with my prescriptions every month and can therefore attest to the fact that this pharmacy is terrible. read more
