King Soopers - Grocery Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This is my neighborhood King Soopers! 9 times out of 10 they don't have a cashier and when you ask for one they tell you they don't have one because they are short staffed. They are always hiring but they are always short staffed. Store is dirty and not very organized. Employees are rude most of them there's a few nice ones! Sounds like you got a management problem! read more

This store is old and need a redo. This includes its employees. Recently, I went there to pick up a few items a female employee who was black at self checkout had an attitude and I ask for manager and she said...there was no manager on duty. I tried to ask another employee and the other employees took my cart. Finally, I found a manager and told what happened and walked out of store without my items. These employees should remember that the customer pays their wages and with lots of other stores like Safeway, Target etc. So, get your act together Kings Soopers at this location. Plus, Kings better not do high tech shelves tags that you can change prices fast and easy no off or on demand prices when people shop. No matter what time you shop you get the same price. read more

My go to grocery store! It's clean, well stocked and organized. My favorite parts: the amazing techs in the pharmacy- especially Dena and Amanda. And ALEX! He's so kind and helpful. He's a great person just to be around. He's always looking for ways to help. He goes out of his way to make you feel important read more

No in person checkers. Anti-social attendant. Friday at dinner time and everyone forced thru these impersonal cattle lines.

I just had an incredible experience at the King Soopers on Monaco and Leetsdale, with the manager, a fellow named Carlos. I'm hoping that the 1 lonely star that I gave this visit will let you know how much fun I just had. I shop at this grocery store multiple times per week, and have for probably over 30 years and I've never had a 1 star experience. Typically, they treat customers like they are valued, but not this fellow. He has never read even a paragraph on customer service. I think that he read a book by mistake on how to alienate long time customers so his job is made easier with fewer customers. The only reason that I didn't give it less, is that there is no way to give it no stars. read more

After doing $300 in grocery shopping I needed $40 in quarters from customer service and was very rudely told that king Soopers will not sell coins. I asked if maybe I could get $10 in quarters and one of the registers offered it to me, but was reprimanded by the manager. I don't get it. What's the problem and selling quarters? This particular King Soopers has lost my business as long as my memory will hold. But the girl at the laundromat that was in line next to me will have my loyalty even as I don't need to have laundry done. She did sell me $40 in quarters at her laundromat just across the parking lot. read more

The store is atrocious! Rude people, obscene checkout lines, no help, major attitude, absolutely no baskets or carts!!! Guaranteed solicitors at the door .... sound like fun? Not so much! (and I could go on, but just read some of the other reviews... And you'll see why I would say to avoid this King Soopers location - even though it is my local store. And by the way... Don't even try to order flowers! No comment. Really too bad... Because it's a great location. (even if it does have crummy access) read more

This is by far the worst King Soopers. It's a s#¡t#0£e !! Filthy, horrible vibes. This is the dystopian future you were warned about. I walked out of the store because the service at the deli counter was so bad. I can't believe that people patronize this location. I'm not going to write a novel. If you've been here you know I mean. This store is example #1 why you should write your congressman and council members to voice your opposition the the Kroger / Safeway Albertsons merger. Allowing a food monopoly will mean that you will pay even more and get even less. read more

I've never seen a chain store that sells groceries that is as much of a joke as this place. And I don't think it's by location it's by their corporate establishment. There's a reason Kroger's is going out of business and King supers needs to die with it. Not only are the stores always out of supplies it seems and I'm not just referring to the time during COVID-19. I've had nothing but problems from ordering from the store. They never have anything organic, kosher, or vegetarian friendly. Their online delivery is never accurate and I am always losing half of my order to refunds and bad substitution choices. Their staff is nice and they are great at hiring awesome customer service employees but aside from that this place isn't for anyone who isn't low-class, white trash or ghetto as they offer nothing for the other social classes or people with alternative lifestyles. read more

Instead of opening another aisle, one of the checkout clerk's chose to yell at all of the customers who were standing in line and obeying the Covid-19 recommendations. Next time just open another aisle. read more

This store is not helpful to disabled persons. As a disabled person, I have had repeated issues with the store carts. The store stores their standard shopping carts next to the handicapped shopping carts, frequntly block access to the handicapped shopping carts completely. Without these carts (which also do not function a lot of the time) I am not able to get around the store to shop. It is frustrating to take the time to travel to the store, only to have to turn around and elsewhere or home because the handicapped shopping carts are not accessible. read more

I feel sorry for this King Soopers. Ever since the shiny new behemoth moved in a mile down the road, business has been steadily siphoning off. I understand that the produce and bakery items aren't as fresh because fewer people are there to buy them. This is according to my husband, who is steadfastly loyal to this location. I also feel guilty because I am one of those many people who have abandoned this store for the glossy one-stop shopping extravaganza just down the street. I have shopped here maybe two or three times since the new store opened. Even though this location was remodeled only about 5 years or so ago, it now seems old and outdated. But it was a neighborhood store that served me well for a decade and my most recent visit reminded me of that. I saw some of the same employees that have been there for years. The store, as it has always been, is clean, well-maintained, and well-organized. So please, come to this King Soopers for plentiful parking, uncrowded isles, short or nonexistent lines at the registers, friendly and loyal employees, and a large selection. read more

Stopped by late at night to get our free Friday download items. Even though it's not as fancy as other King Sooper's, we found what we needed right away. The store is clean and well-stocked. Also like the brand Simple Truth which you can get 3X fuel points. Used the self-checkout lane and had no problems at all. Employees were very friendly and helpful, even at this late hour. read more

Manager was extremely rude. He told me the prices were correct and not to worry, but the close-out pricing items rung up at 3x their advertised price (see photo), after him not changing the price when I insisted. I called the pharmacy to refill a prescription a week ago, Wednesday. The robot said they had to call my doctor. I went in on Sunday, they had nothing. Why hadn't they called me to say there was a problem? I messaged my doctor Monday morning, he said he sent it again to the correct pharmacy then. (He may have screwed up the first time, IDK.) I went in Wednesday afternoon, after having run out of the drug, and they had nothing. This time, they said insurance had rejected because it was already filled elsewhere. Again, they didn't call me two days earlier to say there was a problem, just hung me out to dry. Offered no help, said I had to call my doc or insurance co. Instead I called Walmart eighty miles away b/c I figured that was the place, and their pharmacist was extremely helpful, called KS to say WM had canceled the order and called me back to report. Then KS called and said they'd have it in half an hour. Another trip. Why didn't they just call while I was there? Again, not helpful. read more

Usually I avoid this store and today's visit reinforced why it'll be a long time before I return. The Deli now sells only Grab-n-Go pre-packaged meats and cheeses. The sign says 'Sliced Fresh Daily' but there are no options for a smaller portion or thickness of slices then what has already been sliced, packaged and set out for sale. Very disappointing Deli! read more

This is a fairly good location. I appreciate the workers here very much. Many of the employees have been here for a very long time and I know many of them by name now since it is the nearest King Soopers. The only issue I have is that they seem to move quite a few thing around once a year or so. I just wish they would leave things as they. Nevertheless, I always get pretty good customer service. read more

What a fall from grace. This used to be the best KS to go to. Now? Two armed guards at the entrance and nothing on the shelves. It's like a post-zombie apocalypse when you walk in this store. I live right down the street but I drive 12 miles away to a much better KIngs. Not even worth going here for a quick run- nothing is ever stocked and the employees clearly hate working here. read more

Total mistake to come in here. Lines out the door literally and the staff called no one new to help. Then I had a pricing error and the checker wanted to argue, not help. It gets way better than this almost anywhere else...other reviews have the same issues. Management, take notice??!! read more

Oh look, another scathing review of this King Soopers. I have the misfortune of calling this location my "neighborhood" King Soopers. I would never go to this location were it not a half a block away from my residence. Let's start off by saying I am a kind, forgiving person but I've had enough with the rude and incompetent lack of help I've received here. Tonight was the tipping point. Upon checkout I scanned the Johnsonville Brats that had a super saving accompanied with a digital coupon. I opened my King Soopers app and could not find it. I asked the attendant who would not help figure it out (at least he was more helpful than the horrid manager so he'll remain nameless) so I asked for the manager. A rude little old lady named SOKORO came up and without hesitating said "if it ain't on there I can't help you". I looked at her dumbfounded and began explaining what I was trying to accomplish and showed her my app, googled it and she again said rudely this time "if it AINT ON HERE I CANT HELP YOU" and walked away. I kept quite resumed my check out and then asked the previous attendant for her name SOKORO everyone. This lazy, rude, unfit manager's name is SOKORO. I have attached a picture of the sale which SOKORO didn't bother to lazily walk over to look at or problem solve to help a valued customer who spends nearly a thousand dollars a month in your establishment. Fire her. Maybe your ratings will go up. Thanks SOKORO! read more

King Soopers - The sale - Grocery Near Me - Denver, Colorado

This used to be the only option for observant Jewish people in Denver to purchase Kosher baked goods and it had the largest Kosher section in town. Once the Creekside location opened I started going there instead. However since I recently moved to this side of town I have found I am less and less tolerant of the crowds and have started going to this location. Yes it's looking dated and they don't always have everything I need, but they have the staples. I can easily park, get in, get what I need and get out and that makes this location A-OK. read more

Although this King's isn't as fancy as some of the newer stores, it has all of the basics. I've lived near this KS for 8+ years and I do a good deal of my grocery shopping here. I've found the staff to be friendly and helpful. They have a fairly robust vegetarian and natural foods section, lots of fresh produce and a large kosher section. We've purchased meats and fresh and frozen seafood. I plan to continue shopping here in the future. Maybe I'll see you there. read more

Ain't nothin wrong with the little ghetto King Soopers. I mean c'mon guys, give this place a break. Poor little thing sits in the southern shadow of the glorious HUGE King Soopers, 2 minutes down the road. This is the little corporate store (train) that could. They also have a small but carefully stocked produce section and the store is sparkly clean. Don't judge the employees for being a little grumpy when you go through the checkout, you wouldn't want to work at King Soopers either. read more

Oh, the stupids of the world. They try to get me down. Not today. Here's what happened. I went with the partner around 9:30 PM on a Saturday. We go for the sale and there were lots of things we like that were on sale. By checkout time, the big cart was nearly full. We look for a cashier and ... there's no cashier. Only self-checkout. Self checkout would be great if they provided a discount to me for doing their work. Since they don't, and I prefer jobs over excess profits, I refuse to use self checkout. I asked the clerk that supervises the self-checkout if she could open a cashier lane and she refused. Lost sale. And lots of wasted time restocking everything we wanted to buy, but that they refused to sell to us. Like others have said here, go to the other KS at Leetsdale and Cherry. It's nicer, and they have better service, as well as a liquor store. Not only that, but they will open up a cashier line at night if you ask. I know. I just called the manager there to find out. read more

This store has been here since the 1980's. The store was almost closed few years ago right about the time they opened the new one up the road in Glendale. Kroger decided to keep this store open because the Safe Way down the road (Leetsdale & Quebec) from it closed. This is a crappy store. I have been going here because it is really close and minimal driving. I am going to start shopping elsewhere. The meat department sucks. The butcher strategically places stickers on the bad/rotten parts of the meat so you won't see the nastiness. The Deli only has the Private Selection and no Boris Head with minimal prep salads/food on display. All other stores have Boris Head and a big selection of salads and such on display. The produce department does not always have what is advertised on the flyers or if they have it is not on the shelf. Let's not forget the service desk, they have the longest lines. Not sure if they are chronically under staff or ... read more

This King Soopers just doesn't have great produce, meat, or bakery items. I like to cook with fresh ingredients if I can. There are just so many better options in the area for me. I can get cereal, canned vegetables, or boxes or this or that here. Its generally pretty cheap. But, if you want quality produce, breads, or meats, go elsewhere. Their floral department could use some help too. I've bought fresh flowers here a couple times and the last time I visited, the flower selection and freshness left alot to be desired. I had to just go elsewhere. At least they have a working Red Box movie vending machine. read more

The reviews about this store are not unfounded! Carlos H, who is a Service Manager, has no business being a manager, much less a SERVICE Manager. He is rude, condescending and argumentative! Kevin, some sort of Assistant Manager, is a joke! He acts as though he has some form of intelligence and authority, but he has neither. On top of the two previously mentioned rays of sunshine, the store was very busy but employees were standing around talking, making jokes and moving slower than molasses in the winter. Also, it was peak shopping time and several aisles were blocked as if they were going to be restocked. One would have thought restocking would happen at non-peak hours. I literally couldn't navigate several aisle because there were so many boxes AND there was no one stocking anything! Finally, every employee I encountered in the store was unpleasant (no greeting, no smile, no eye contact), with the exception of the young man who collects carts, and to a lesser extent the Operations Manager. read more

So, I live across the street so I can walk to this store. despite my going inside almost everyday and spending my hard earned cash, I experience the worst customer service from almost every department in that store. On the front end, there's an associate, Jay, he's the only friendly and most helpful person there. The deli, the money center, even customer service has rude individuals working behind their counter making it hard for people to get good assistance. They're always moving slow and nobody seems to want to help you. I would love to be treated nicely where I spend my money so if you think like me then avoid this location. read more

Another Giant King Supers, packed to the gills with everything our species needs, as long as you define what your needs are before you enter, it will speed up your process for leaving. The vegetables aren't as fresh as the King Supers off of Yale and Colorado in University Hills or the one in Cherry Creek. However, their pharmacist is very nice and takes the time to explain interactions of medications you pick up for family members. Be aware of the condition called, "Giant King Super Brain Freeze," where you suffer from the overwhelming urge to look at everything on the shelves and conjure up Caribean dishes to assail your nostrils or baked goods with strange coconut ingredients for healthier eating. Will your family eat it or stick their noses up in rebellion? Probably the latter. When you are ready to purchase your groceries, you are asked to use the self check-out registers to move things along. The employees seem to have lost their 'joie de vivre,' (even the watchful eye of the guard by the entrance seems a bit sad). However, last week I followed through with their instructions, and upon finishing my transaction and I hit 'pay,' it was like hitting the jackpot in Vegas. The lights blinked, the bells rung, and about $15.00 worth of change poured out of the machine. I threw up my hands and declared it wasn't mine because when stuff like this happens you are being tested by a higher authority. Their TSA version of a supermarket checkout person approached and retrieved the money, and with a sparkle in his eye, I have not seen at this store ever, smiled and said that these machines do this regularly when they get stuck. Did I bring some joy to this store from my visit? Or am I like the other thousands of customers who have experienced this casino experience but won't play by the rules of the blackjack table? Or am I the only one who refused to collect the free gift? I am sure after this review posts, a long line of people will form at the register snapping their fingers screaming, "Come on.... BABY!" Hey, please don't do that, I refuse to cause social corruption, which brings me to my thought of the day. Yesterday as I was walking through a park and overheard a conversation by a Russian immigrant, it helped me to understand the human mind and grasp the fragility of our egos. I overheard the man say, "When someone pisses on me, I stop working." And so.... when a clerk from King Sooper requests that you use the self check-out/Vegas slot machines, even though they are standing there with nobody at their register, and they have lost that sparkle in their eye; obey the request with a smile. Why do you ask? Because everyone needs a kind word once in a while, even if their job is just to direct you elsewhere. And being honest has its rewards, which brings life back into people who have fallen into disrepair from rude behavior. Yes, even the guard seemed a little more alive while he wished me well with his usual salutations as I left the store. What's going on here, are we all iodine deficient? read more

This Kings has been on the decline over the past few years, despite the recent renovations. Parking is almost always a tedious task due to the constant flow of customers at this location, and the various departments are usually unorganized, messy, and under-stocked; particularly the Deli, Bakery, and Floral. There's almost always a shortage of cashiers, and with half of the former registers being replaced with self-service machines I assume it's a cash-saving move on the part of corporate, but it leaves people with larger orders to endure crazy long lines because there's only ever 1 or 2 actual registers open at a time. While there are a handful of consistently good employees here, the majority of them seem content to treat you at-best with a passing glance, and at worst they just outright ignore you. Also, during my last visit a few months back, I walked in on one of the employees snorting coke in the bathroom (chubby guy with a mohawk). So yeah, par for the course I guess. Bottom line, this store has suffered since the opening of the shiny new location in Glendale, and it's obvious at this point that Kings is content to leave this store in shambles so they can drive more business to the Glendale store. Do yourself a favor and oblige them, because this place is awful. read more

You get the feeling that there is some plan on the horizon that we shoppers are not privy to. Or that maybe this store is where the trainees, screw-ups and flunkies go to either move on, shape up or ship out (respectively). I can't ever quite put my finger on it with this store but something is amiss. I usually find what I need if I have to shop here, but it's most definitely not my first choice King Soopers. It may also just be the general feel of the retail area this store is in. Seems to be transitioning. Here's to hoping they either improve or throw in the towel. read more

I love king soopers but I would rather drive further away then go to this one. It is organized poorly and is a little more run down then some of the others.
