The prices here are decent, probably the cheapest place in Boulder to buy groceries, but that's about one of the only things good things about the store. First off, the parking lot is usually filled with carts, so much so that driving and riding a bike through the lot can sometimes be a hazard. Sometimes I will actually see employees out in the lot bringing in cats, but they move so slowly it hardly makes a noticeable difference. Then there's the bathroom. It's usually filthy. Pee all over the toilet seats, graffiti on the stall walls, and it usually stinks of crap even when nobody else is in there. And that's not even mentioning the many homeless people who use the son's as their personal shower, our the ones that go in the stalls to shoot up heroin or drink beer or just fall asleep. The service at this store was also something of an atrocity. There are a few good employees at the store, I will say that, they are not all inept brain dead idiots. There is one cashier there in particular that I enjoy seeing every time I go in. I always go through her line if I can. She is so nice and sweet and helpful. I would recommend going through her line if you can. She's short with black hair and has the name "severus" on her name tag, although I doubt that's her real name. Also, the grey haired man at the u scan is a very friendly fellow as well. Most of the other staff though I have not had great experiences with. Most employees, when asked, had trouble helping me find basic things like razors or certain food products. When walking through the store I have frequently had employees run straight small into me, not looking at all where they were going, and they never even apologized. And I was met with a huff when I asked for someone to check the back stock room for something I was looking for, as if it was such a huge inconvenience. There are two employees in particular that I have had particular problems with. The first is a kid, maybe high school or college, that works in grocery or the meat department I think(I'm not exactly sure which department). He is average height and build with buzzed Brown hair. I think his name is Nick. Everyone I go into the store I hear him bragging to other employees about how drunk he got last night or about how he's going to do some acid later that night. One time I even heard him tell someone that he was tripping on ecstasy right there while he was at work. He's always talking about drugs or drinking. I just think that's very unprofessional and rather immature. The other employee I have had major problems with is a cashier in one of the regular lanes. He is old, probably 60 or so, has a wrinkled face like a pitiful and has long Brown hippie hair. He wears an oversized nametag that says he's heading impaired. I think his name is Roddy or Robby or maybe Rodney. This guy is always in a bad mood and berating customers. Even when I'm not in his line I can hear him harassing people. The one time I did go through his line was a nightmare. He dropped the chicken I got from the deli onto the floor. The chicken feel out of the bag and onto the floor. He then proceeded to put the chicken back in the bag and scanned it and put it in a bag, as if I couldn't see what he was doing. Of course I saw though, and I called the manager over and got new chicken for free at least. I thought he would get fitted for that though, but he was back at work the next day I saw. Also, this guy has quite a mouth on him. He was talking about how all the problems the store was having were due to all the stupid women customers and their f'ing attitudes. Then he spotted some nonsense how Boulder deserved all the wildfires(he was talking about the four mile canyon fire) and floods it's had. I thought that was incredibly insensitive. I don't shop there usually unless I absolutely have to. read more

I am a fan of king soopers, I am not really sure why but here are my reasons: -They have friendly staff that are always willing to help -The deli always freshly cuts your meat and cheeses -I think they have a great produce center -Always have great deals -THEY ARE GETTING A GAS STATION!!!! this is a huge deal!!!! like huge, I am poor and discounted gas is great. Love: that they're open 24/7, that they have a cheese island, that they have nut mix dispensers, that they have some of the friendliest deli clerks, that they have self-checkout, that their workers are friendly and prompt. Dislove: that they never have any of the small carts around for use, that don't carry after-eight mints or strawberry instant oatmeal, that their parking lot and street entrances/exits are a bit chaotic. read more

F'ing lame ass geriatric senior citizen trying to operate the computers at the customer service literally took over half an hour to help one person. Then we get our turn and here we are still waiting for this old lady who should have stayed retired. Plus I have seen her coughing and sneezing this whole time she is working! Major thumbs down. This is my go-to King Soopers. The people in the Pharmacy are really great and very helpful. The new cheese area is great and you can get almost any thing you want there. It is a crazy busy store with a very small parking lot, so it can be terrible to find a parking space, and the lines can be long. I try to avoid going there during the after work rush. read more
