Amazing vegan selections at low prices. Clean store, very friendly employees. I picked up 2 vegan butters, which sell for 8.49 at Sprouts (Earth Balance) for $1.99 each. That's just an example, but set aside time to stroll the aisles, there's always some hidden treasure to find. It is hit or miss, but its fun to discover new items. read more

Esh's discount grocery is a very specific store in terms of discounted goods. Located in Dacono Colorado , I'm not sure too many people know about it but enough where people travel to get organic and vegetarian friendly foods at great prices. This store is a medium size store with a produce section, health/beauty ,frozen foods , pantry staples and such. There is no deli or bakery as the store is a discount store. Buyer beware of expiration dates as some are a day or two near expiration or past expiration. I had been able to find a mixing of regular items I normally purchase and some new yummy finds. Another Saturday, another Esh's to explore. Visited this spot today with another companion. Within minutes their re-usable bag was filled to the brim, ha ha ha. While the ice cream freezer was out of order (so sad) this location boasts a deli and a robust produce section. There are also lots of other great freezer finds, Evol burritos, pizzas, Santiago's chili's, etc. Lots of great finds, especially in the dairy department. Siggi's scrumptious Icelandic yogurt, lots of dairy free alternatives (Good Karma dip, Coconut yogurts, etc.), noosa, and chobani to round off the set. So so many chips at this location. From conventional to fancy. So many in fact that they were in the snack isle as well as presented on the wall behind the registers. A nice assortment of pet food as well as cleaning supplies. Natural dish and laundry soaps in various brands and sizes. My favorite finds were fermented chili sauce (same brand as found at Cured), balsamic vinegar (of a brand that I've picked up from William Sonoma), and some Chimes chewy caramel creations (that I hadn't yet seen). There were also several ready to eat cookie coughs (ok, maybe we picked up a couple of ready to eat single serving packs. They came with a spoon, what can I say?). Clean, friendly, good selections. I've saved many thousands over last 15 years. Has a deli with limited hrs. Another Esh's is in North Loveland. A new one is due to open in east Windsor in spring 2025. Give them a try! Combine a trip to visit other attractions. read more

Amazing selection of food and cleaning products that are earth and health friendly, and plain good like gourmet cheeses, and a ton of vegetarian friendly snacks and foods. I am not concerned about food that has expired bc most of the food is still good. Just check the packaging bc not all are past the expiration date and even if some are it's still edible. The prices are phenomenal and you will get lost here and want to buy the whole store after looking at all the goodies for 1 hour. These products will be sold at Whole Foods or other higher end specialty markets but at Esh's you are paying 1/3 the price. Oh and fresh veges and fruit also. Enjoy! read more

This place is the dopest discount grocery store on the face of the planet. I found a 14 Ilb bag of Blue Buffalo dog food for $6.00! Whaaaaaat?! Not only are prices amazing on pet food, but human food as well. Unlike most close to expiration date grocers they also have organic choices, charcuterie, meat that doesn't look like road kill, and just a ton of awesome finds for cheap. OOPS seems like this once-treasured place is laughing at its customers. They have gotten greedy and the prices have really risen. You are buying likely expired products and ugly and old vegetables, but prices are sometimes more than the original store, or equal! I saw Costco Kirkland butter for $3.49/lb. It is $2.00/lb at Costco. Esh's must go to nearby Costco and buy butter to sell here and make 75%. Eggs were $2.40. Vitamin Cottage has them fresh and free range organic for $1.99 firm. Old marred limes ten cents each. Old marred lemons 50 cents each. Not a good deal. A huge tub of non-organic but non-rghb sour cream at Costco $3.49 for a quantity of 6-8 small containers' worth. The probiotic organic EXPIRED 12 oz at the discount store was $1.79. Same with the cream cheese equivalents. They are laughing at their customers. However, there are still some great deals. You must be familiar with prices at other stores or you may end up paying more $ for less. I don't know if this is just the Dacono store or the Loveland one, too. RiP. read more

So thankful for Esh's, they have saved us so much money our our groceries over the past few years, they continue to improve the store and how its set up and ran, the people are all very friendly and helpful, its not like other stores if you see something you get it right then otherwise it probably won't be there next time your back, it has a large variety of things and its different each time we go. Sometimes the food is close to the expiration dates but we've never had a problem with what we have bought there with that. I've recommend Esh's to a lot of my friend and they all shop there too on a regular bases. read more

I love this place. It's a local small town discount grocery store. Yes, items have either recently reached their best by date or will be soon. This personally doesn't bother me and certainly helps with food waste. I'm also on a low carb/keto diet and there's a ton of options for me. There's just an interesting variety of foods that you typically won't see in most grocery stories and the options are always different. PLUS the prices are amazing! read more

Not exactly what I was expecting. They have really good prices on cheese. If you live in this town or nearby it may be worth it. They had a small selection of produce but no organic. The employees were really friendly. It isn't a store to drive out of your way to go to. It did have really good freezer selection. read more

We enjoy walking around and seeing s as ok if the producers they have as try constantly change. The joke in my house is how we get screwed EVERY time we shop here. They know some of the items they sell are pure garbage. For example, we once purchased a bottle of bbq sauce that was actively bubbling when we opened it. WTF?!?!?! The return policy is store credit only. We try to partake but I am not interested in gastronomical roulette. Lots of unusual items that you won't see at the common stores. read more

The aisles were empty, except the occasional shopper. (don't know why, with everyone complaining about the economy.....) The shelves were FULL! They were so neat and nicely arranged. The "fresh" produce looked a little sad though. I think I just made my smallest purchase ever at $8. read more

This place is so awesome! I wish they had more locations across states! There are amazing products that are usually such a high price ( especially in California) for basically pennies. We try and eat mostly organic and we sure have our favorite brands and this discount grocery made our long camping trip so much better. We got wellness shots and probiotic yogurt, granola bars and healthy chips. They even have fresh produce and food that is ready to eat. There were even KEGS of kombucha! We would have totally gotten one if we had a group with us. We really ate like kings for a fraction of what we usually pay for the same great products. Today was my first visit here and I'm so stoked about it! I expected it to be full of off brand items because it is a discount store. Oh no, not so! I'm going back tomorrow and taking a friend because, yes, the prices and selection is that good. What did I buy? Organic bread, pasta, flour, protein bars, chocolate bars. Really good cheese. Kombucha! Mesquite wood chips. Eco-friendly dish soap and trash bags. Four shopping bags CRAMMED full for $58! Today the produce was not great, but besides that it was awesome. Very friendly cashier and folks stocking the shelves. More than once I saw the shelver stop what they were doing and help a customer find what they were looking for. Store is clean and fairly well organized. The cashier said they stock new items every day and you never know what will be there. I'm going here before I do a big shop from now on. Esh's is really helping me save money on groceries. You have to pay attention to expiration dates and use discretion about what to take a chance on. But i love that we can eat higher quality foods while cutting our grocery budget by 20%. With gas and inflation right now I'm especially grateful to have breathing room somewhere in the budget! read more

Cool place but nearly everything is expired. I know that food is still good past it's "best by" date but soup (not canned) that expired 5 months ago is really pushing it in my opinion. I got excited when I saw Noosa yogurt for $1.00 but it expired 6 days ago and unless I planned on eating it that day I wouldn't trust dairy too far after a week's expiration. They had a brand of cereal that I love and is hard to find but again...expired 4 months ago. I did find some great deals on beef jerky and baseboard cleaner. I will be back but I will be checking best by and expiration dates. read more

Been going here since it opened in 05 or 06 its now eshes prices back than were really low but now seem high on some things . Really miss the deli though ,Still most of the stuff is priced really good . Just check the dates some times it's way past the best by date . Staff has always been great . read more

So I live here in Dacono and I live right around the corner so I stop in to this store at least three times a week. I love this store, and I love the people who work there. There have been periods in the last six years when the deals at this store made the difference between being fed and being well fed. It's always helped my budget. So why not five stars? I know that there are things I simply won't find at this store; there is always some kind of Indian food, either dry packaged or frozen; there isn't always yogurt. When there is yogurt, it's some of the best quality yogurt sold, and way, way cheaper than the regular stores, but sometimes they don't have any, other than some soy or odd flavored stuff I won't take a chance on. So I guess I'm saying it's a Discount store first, with some out of date products and with some weird brands; the milk is twice the price as a Safeway but the eggs, only one brand, size and "quality" at a time. I always come here before I flesh out the rest of my shopping list. Always. But the difference of that one star is the understanding that it's not, at all, by any means, one stop shopping. If you need that, go to Wally world, King Stoopid or whatever; you will miss out on gourmet cookies at 1/4 the price; high end organic peanut butters and jams at 1/4 the price; cases of incredible yogurts for three dollars for twelve; deep discounts on organic tamari, snacks, high end chocolates... you get the point. I have saved so much money and eaten so well from this store that I will gladly pay full price for the deli meats and over price for the butter and milk, just to see this place thrive. P.S. The coffee, produce and ice cream are hit or miss. The health and beauty aids are abundant but few name brands; mostly really expensive stuff at the cheap. Supplements too. read more

Prices have raised to regular grocery store prices, except items are frequently molded over and still sold. Cashiers notoriously over-charge because receipts don't state the item, just price paid. Employees that have been there for years are disrespectful and rude...the nice new-hires never last, sadly. read more

This place is a gold one for those of us who have children and are always in need of snacks! Your best bet is to know your prices, so you know what is a deal or not and if you see a great deal on something you love- stock up! The workers were nice, the store was easy to find. Esh's (Discount Grocery Dacono) used to be a great place to shop. I went there today with high hopes & was extremely disappointed. 97% of everything (and I'm a shopper!) was HIGHER than the local health food store pricing and a year or more overdue on the freshness date. I don't know what's going on there, but I will never go back. Almond butter 1 year old $8.79 a jar. Fresh on sale at Natural grocers $5.99. The cereal, pickles, canned food and pasta is the same or more expensive then new at the local grocer. Canned peaches $1.29 a year old? Seriously? Big deal that the chips, pro-meal bars and shell peanuts were cheap... I can find those on sale for the same (with a good manufacture date at King Soopers). Seriously don't waste your time. read more

This place used to be an absolute treasure- near and slightly past date high quality organic foods for pennies on the dollar. I've been shopping here for years and over the past 2 years it has totally transformed, and not for the better! Gone are the amazing deals and great prices. Now I can find prices as good or BETTER at the full price stores. Definitely can get cheaper at regular stores with sales. Example is almond butter. I used to be able to get this at Esh's Dacono for less than half the price anywhere else. Now the prices are equal to what I'd pay at Trader Joe's so why would I pay the same for a past date item? I've been burned many times by rancid nut butters and stale crackers. When I was paying dirt cheap prices I didn't mind so much but not when I'm paying hear retail! Also they use the old style cash registers where the cashiers type in the amount manually. They sort of visually scan over your items and type things in random order so it makes it nearly impossible to keep track of what they are charging you. I have NEVER come home with a receipt total that is accurate. Not once, in all my years shopping here! When it's a dollar or two I can ignore it (and I live far enough away that it makes no sense to drive all the way back for a small error), but recently it's been increasingly large amounts, double charged for items, etc. The store is also lacking any sort of organization so despite being small it takes at least an hour to go though and find things. I've read reviews elsewhere praising this "new store with clean accessible bathrooms"? That is not this place - those reviewers must be confusing the Dacono location with their new Loveland location. They apparently raised prices in Dacono to cover the nice new shop up north. The store is old and the bathroom is a tiny closet that is always filthy. And I was completely fine with that and shopped here twice a month until the prices started creeping up. They took a good thing and completely ruined it. People who just started shopping here have no idea what they missed. I truly hate to bash what used to be a great little store but they have kept all the bad things (dirty store, outdated items, no organization, etc) and tripled their prices. It is no longer worth my time to drive out there when I can do as good or better shopping at Costco, TJ's, and Sprouts - and get FRESH items, to boot! read more
