I purchased 4.6 lbs net weight of "Heritage Farm" Chicken. When I unwrapped it and weighed the chicken, I only had 3.1 lbs of chicken meat and the packaging weighed the other 1.5 lbs. I returned it to the store and the Asst Manager said I could keep the chicken and they would refund my money. However, the clerk would only refund my money if I fortified the chicken. They would not accept the fact that they are selling mislabeled merchandise. It seems to me this is some sort of crime. read more

If there are no bathrooms allowed to the public anymore, because of bums it sounds like, or the incident at the library, get chemical or smoke detectors if thats thr case, get button pads and dont give the code to non-customers and get better security. If emergency situations happen, or that odd time if the month happens real bad while I'm shopping and I am told by one employee they might let me use the bathrooms for an emergency and the seccond person I am directed to talk to just flat out says no and points out nearby stores which by the way are not near enough to save my cloths from blood stains or from cases of vomiting at this point: We wont come here anymore. The Table Mesa location has better employees and security. Get a button code or better security. Kick out non-shoppers, don't deny myself or my pregnant sister bathroom use for bathrooms you actually have. Seriously, if you are going to take away emergency or general use of bathrooms, the ones that you DO have, away from the general public and especially a paying customer: you wont get our business anymore. This kings is always super crowded.Maybe because the aisles are smaller in this store compared to the others. Sometimes people bump into me with their shopping carts. Check out lines are long and slow and navigating the parking lot can feel like your threading the eye of a needle. I avoid this kings when ever possible and go to the one on Table Mesa. Much bigger. Friendlier. Less crowded. Easier to navigate. read more

I love King Soopers! #1 in prices, #2 in variety it's best of any other chain. Safeway may be quieter and a bit nicer but it's slow because the prices are higher. We don't have a Walmart in Boulder if they did I'd go there, to me Kings is the best anyway. read more

This King Soopers has the most offensive fluorescent lights I've ever experienced. Not one single thing has changed about it in 10 years- except the addition of a "natural foods" aisle. It rivals the Arapahoe Safeway for the title of "most depressing grocery store in Boulder". The only redeeming quality is that they carry J&D's Bacon Salt- at least three out of the four main flavors. Makes everything taste like bacon. Pretty amazing. read more

This is your typical King Soopers location, with all of the normal amenities. It is located in Boulder so it tends to be on the busier side. The parking lot isn't the greatest.. People seem to struggle with parking here. There are usually a lot of checkout lanes open (more than other locations), but there always seems to be a line. I prefer self-checkout, which usually goes quickly. Don't let the busyness dissuade you. You can still get in and out pretty quickly as long as you don't buy too much. ;) read more

There's a few things about King Soopers that you just can't beat. First off, for every purchase you get gas points which can be redeemed for a discount on gas and the King Soopers location. I don't know about you, but getting any type of discount on gas is surely an incentive for me to shop at your establishment. In terms of quality and price I think King Soopers is among the best. They always have really great specials and deals, especially on produce and I have never purchased anything that was poor quality. You definitely want to get a King Soopers card. Even if you don't shop there often it is still worth the deals you can get while you are there. Every once in a while King Soopers mails out extra coupons, I used them last time and was able to save an extra $20! They have a couple aisles dedicated to natural and organics foods and I think they do a great job of covering the essentials. There are still lots of specialty items I need to get at places like Whole Foods but for the most part King Soopers has what I need. Not to mention they are 24 hours. Not too many places stay open super late in Boulder and I love that this place is available whenever I need anything. read more

I called in a prescription today for my regular meds at this pharmacy for a change thinking it would be no problem to get a better Gooodrx price on it. That was not available to me today. Tandi answered the phone and I was happy to hear that it would be ready soon enough.... so I was ok with that thinking I would just pick it up later. To my dismay about an hour later I get a call from Walgreens saying that King Soopers Pharmacy refuses to fill it. I believe I was judged too harshly by Brenda the pharmacist at King Soopers because in the state of Co this is a non narcotic drug and seeing that it was for a better price and it was already ready for pickup at Walgreens that it would be no problem. I love this grocery store. It has a great organic and healthy foods section. Lots of fresh produce. Fair prices. Good bread section. Tons of yogurt selections (which is important for me) The manager of this store is also a really great guy. He always says hi to me when I'm shopping and tells me about good sales going on. I had an unpleasant, embarrassing experience this morning. The card scanner refused to accept my bank card. After about a ten minute delay holding up a long line with a cart full of groceries, including some frozen items, the manager told me I needed to call my bank to find out what the problem with my account was. Fortunately, I suggested that we scan my card at a different machine, which he should have done in the first place. Problem solved. Their machine, not my card, was at fault. read more

Just had a poor experience at self checkout. The man working this morning insisted he help me scan cans of soda and one bigger box of frozen food on the bottom of my cart (It's self checkout I don't need help). After he tells me he's scanned the bigger items on the bottom of my cart I pay and when I try to leave he accuses me of stealing the larger frozen food box (that he just said he scanned!). He wasn't friendly even when I explained the situation. Don't try to help people if you are going to scan some items and not others (and proceed to say you did). She isn't rude, but she is impatient when answering questions about instructions about taking the medicines and about insurance issues. Coming here depresses me. I've never been able to leave this place without spending at least $60, and this is usually on about two bags of groceries. Their 'sales' are pretty deceiving, and I find the prices on everything else to be outrageous, but that's standard for groceries in Boulder. I really like King Soopers........ this is not a review of their organic products or anything like that. My small complaint is that I shop there to accumulate gas points. Yesterday I went to get gas and was told I had a .10 a gal for my fill up. The price for Premium was $.383, With my discount it was $3.73 a gal. Bought my gas and left. I had only gone less than a mile towards home when I passed another gas station. Their price for Premium gas? $3.75! So King Soopers is actually giving me .02 a gal. discount. Who wants to ever have a one star experience anywhere? Certainly not me. And certainly not here. But it happened. During a routine shopping for dinner brief in and out session here, my daughter and I were followed by a store employee... probably a manager, who kept asking if he could help us. It was annoying at first and downright disturbing by the time we were ready to check out. We were polite to the employee and even asked him a question about where to find one item my daughter was looking for. But this was a bad experience and when considered in comparison to other unpleasant experiences I have had in this same store it is one of the worst. Why do I keep shopping here? I love King Soopers. They are cheaper than any other grocery store I have shopped at and they have great food. They always have awesome sales if you have a King soopers card (it's free to get a card). They sell a pack of 120 napkins for under a dollar and other great deals like that. Good cheese selection. The staff are always friendly. They also have good food samples a lot. They just paved a section of their parking lot too so that's nice. read more

Huge selection. Sometimes they have amazing sales/ deals! But most importantly, the employees are very nice and very helpful!

I've been making the trip here from NoBo for almost 2 years and now I'm really asking myself why. With the exception of one or two checkers, everyone is SO.DARN.SLOW. One checker last week was chatting up the customer, which is great IF you can multi-task which this clerk clearly could NOT. So I moved to the line next to me and then was told by an employee looking awfully official wth a clipboard that "unfortunately that lane is closed". Of course when I went back to the chatty clerk line new people were in line in front of me. Then when I finally got to the front and a bagger came along to help the same official employee told the bagger something which caused him to drop everything and leave my groceries half bagged. Been shopping here for over a decade and really appreciate the cashiers and the folks at the front of the store. But today was my last visit there.I'm done. In a hurry, lots to do so got to the service counter at 7am, which is opening time--no clerk---wait awhile--here comes clerk sauntering down the aisle. No "sorry I'm late,nada. Just attitude. No name tag, ask her about it, Says "my name is Joanna and I'm not being rude to you." conversation goes on like this for a couple of minutes. Customer in front of me has problems with her card--another couple of minutes--I'm still waiting, then Biff or whatever strolls up and chats up Joanna--I make a comment. "I'm the store manager," says Biff like it's okay for me to wait because he's The Store Manager" No wonder customer service at the Service Counter is so bad. After 10 minutes I left and won't be back. There are 5 other groceries between my house and King Sooper's and I'm going to them from now on. But I will miss the cashiers. Training is so bad Joanna doesn't know or care the difference between rude and hostile, but she sure has the hostile part down. read more

When you step through the doors of this newly renovated store, the stench of sewer hits you enough to turn around and stay on a diet. Sewage miasma clings to everything you buy and take home. Yeah, after a while you get used to it, but must it be that way? The managers won't talk about it, the punk baggers with nose rings can't tell the dif. The cheese case holds some very appetizing chunks, but consumer beware! Turn each piece every which way to find the mold abundantly growing under the expiration date (if there's one). Bloated defrosted chicken breast packs reek when you open them after you get home. Not even the dogs will eat them. Pre-packaged salads slimmy if on sale. They clean and wash the upper produce racks while produce still in place in lower shelves. You end up getting all the bacteria deposited on your fresh(?) produce, plus flakes of wire shelves for a good organic combination (latex and iron?). Meat selection leaves a lot to be desired. Gray Bologna not appetizing, neither's gray marinated chicken or brown stake( on sale, "manager's special" deals). Otherwise, most employees are friendly and curteous, helpful and overworked in the cold (they have to yet figure out the temps in this store). I avoind this store if I can, shop at Sprouts, Sunflower and by no means, ever, ever, Safeway on Baseline. read more

I'm not exactly sure how to rate this store in stars, and well, heres why. I've been going to this King Soopers for years upon years. It has always had the best selection out of all the "regular" grocery stores in Boulder, and on top of that it has the best prices. You really can't beat that! On top of everything else, the people are fantastic. Very nice, a really helpful bunch of people. Today I came in to exchange a little five dollar box of vitamins at the service desk. A quiet gentlemen named Lucho was there to help. He scanned my item and told me they didn't sell it there. It took me a moment to realize I must have bought it at Safeway. Man, if there was ever a moment I wished I hadn't left my receipt at the self check out, this was surely the one! Before I could laugh and apologize the man smiled at me (oddly), while telling me to "watch it girl" I was definitely caught off guard as anyone would be. After telling me to "watch it girl" another 5 times or so, he then proceeded to tell me I am trying to pull something, trying to scam him. I was honestly offended and once I turned my head, embarrassed as there was a line of people behind me. I just couldn't believe it. I of course tried to explain that it was an honest mistake, an accident. I was then called a liar by this man. Again, I'm trying to explain myself not wanting someone to think this of me, I'm very very embarrassed and honestly just want to run out of the store. I'm wondering, am I dealing with a crazy person? It really is quite an unusual reaction to say the least. He then laughs at me, and again, I'm called a "liar" and told to "watch it girl". I give up. I grab my box and start to walk out of the store, but then I think maybe I should talk to a manager. I turn around, and find him standing down the walk way a bit. He listened to what I had to say, he was nice, very personable, he told me he would talk to this employee and then apologized. He asked me if there was anything he could do. He was just an all around nice guy. What a relief! Anyway, I want to stress the fact that this was my only bad experience here. And I'm sure will continue to be as long as I steer clear of this employee in the future. I'm a very loyal customer, and this will not change just because of one goober. I must have gotten the rotten apple out of the whole barrel. I figure, I always like to read reviews before I go somewhere new, and if I can help someone steer clear of a bad morning, and keep a good customer from being treated like a low life criminal, I'll certainly do what I can. Its a great store with great employees and I most definitely recommend it with the exception of this one not so nice person. So there ya go. Five stars to King Soopers. Negative stars for Mr. Lucho. This is not a complaint about this specific store, but the online service they "provide" in general. If you like spending hours online shopping and then being financially raped while you wait for all of your funds to rerun into your bank account, then this is the store for you. Don't ever order groceries from this stores website. I was charged twice for an order of groceries that was 135$, and this happened multiple times on several credit /debit cards without a single order processing. Several hundred dollars is now pending without having any money to spend on food (or really anything whatsoever). For some reason they are able to hold take your money and hold it in escrow until they see fit, and say that "your order cannot be processed at this time". These fuckers have a bunch of clowns working behind computers (that is if they have any). This is absolute horse shit, and there has never been a single time in 30yrs where I have ever had this type of situation happen where money taken was taken out of your bank account without an ores being processed.
