The 30th St King Soopers is a great place to shop! It's centrally located and easy to access. They have a nice large parking lot shared with other strip mall places. The staff is usually friendly and the store is clean. More like 4.5 stars but I honestly prefer the Table Mesa location since this one can feel a little tight and claustrophobic in the aisles sometimes. read more

In short, this place is a lot worse than it used to be. A big reason is that there are no longer public restrooms. While I am sure that maintaining public restrooms are a challenge, people still need to pee. Period. Restrooms need to exist. It's cheap and lazy to eliminate them. Also, for some reason, this store has a poor kombucha selection. This isn't the case at all King Soopers, but it is at this one. I'll pretty much always buy at least one kombucha (usually more) per grocery trip, but here there usually isn't enough. I get it - it's Boulder and I'm sure kombucha is popular. Maybe... order more? I dunno. Anyway, I now go to other locations more often for the aforementioned reasons. We stopped at the Boulder King Soopers on 30th Street between DEN and Estes Park while on vacation and had a horrible experience. When we were ready to check out, my husband left to find a restroom. He was wandering around the store for a while because he could only find locked restrooms. In the meantime, I wasn't able to buy a 6pk of beer & bottle of Prosecco we had because my husband had walked away and they needed to see his ID. No problem. I get that. When my husband got back, we moved to the self-check-out to pay for the alcohol. When I said excuse me to ask the self-check-out clerk, Hao, for her assistance in buying the alcohol, she screamed JUST A MINUTE in an extremely nasty manner without even looking at us. When she eventually helped us with the alcohol purchase, we asked her where the restrooms were and she mumbled something while walking away. We had to follow her and ask her two more times before she finally told us who we needed to ask to be let in the restrooms. We were exasperated when we left. We loved our stay in Estes Park and will be back but never again with we give this chain our business. read more

Came in yesterday to get some cold night time medicine. I had purchased some daytime medicine at the nearby Target but they were out of night time. I went through self check out and the little old Asian lady checked my ID as I rang up the daytime medicine. I was holding the night time medicine I'd bought from Target and as I paid and walked away she pushed me and accused me of "only ringing up one" of them. I told her not to touch me and pointed out the other box was Up & Up, which is Target brand and she followed me out the door yelling at me telling me to not come back. Cool. I won't. read more

I just realized that my review of this store is terribly outdated, like 8 years worth. Oh well, update better late than never. Though I more commonly used the Table Mesa Store since the mid 80s, I still used this one occasionally when in the area or when Table Mesa was out of stock on something very specific. But because of the tragedy closing that store in March this spring, for items I still like to buy in town from this company, I have used this 30th St. store more than usual. It has been spruced up a bit since I switched back and though struggling with pandemic supply issues on specific items like all these stores these days, they are trying mightily and appreciating the customers making the switch until Table Mesa can be re-opened later in the year. So their business is a bit unpredictable and we need to make allowances for it. They are trying hard and I believe from what I hear that they are also utilizing employees from the other store than needed to get back to work though I have not personally seen or talked to anyone I recognized form Table Mesa. I will also comment that since the start of the pandemic I had only been using the curbside pickup for these stores and did not know the recently hired staff at the south Boulder Store. But when I switched to this store in the spring, I began going back inside and did recognize a few very long time employees that had been here since at least the 90s. The place is now finally better handling the stock and staffing issues changed by the shift in supply and customer base quite well and today I found all but one item on my list, which was size specific. If I end up needing it sooner rather than later, I will go back and buy the unnecessarily large (for me) size that was in stock. Thank you Kroger and 30th St King Soopers staff for supporting the community that was shattered in March. Consider this review a 4 1/2 but Yelp doesn't fine tune the ratings that specifically. Most places do have room for improvement, even if they can't really control every detail. I find that the stock is better and staffing volume is better suited in the middle of the week rather than on weekends, but being retired, our schedule is finally our own. And they stepped up to serve the community as well as anyone might have under such unexpected and sad circumstances. read more

King Soopers have shut down their bathrooms to the public so forget running errands around town and hoping for a bathroom when you stop to get groceries On top of this they have turned all but one lane into self checkout. However the self checkout does not accommodate multiple reusable bags. So it's great for a few items but what a mess if you have a cart full of groceries. I've just about had it with Kroger stores. Again tonight, we went to self check out with some St. Croix sparkling water advertised for $2.99 with a digital coupon (regularly $4.99). The other item was a box of Lara nutrition bars which we weren't able to scan at the sale price. After asking for help from the clerk who wasn't able to get the correct price, she summoned a supervisor who still couldn't figure it out. The digital coupons and sale prices frequently don't ring up correctly. In addition, some of the sale prices are in bold lettering with small letters noting multiple items must be purchased to get the sale price. As a customer, I'm beginning to feel like the in store advertising is at the very least deceptive. These issues aren't just at this location. I live in Portland, Oregon and this happens quite frequently at the Kroger stores there as well. I don't know who has the time to figure out these hocus-pocus practices, especially when the store supervisor can't even do it. I'm seriously considering no longer shopping or limiting my shopping at Kroger stores. Beware to check your purchases very carefully. read more

This King Soopers is very near to work and my colleagues and I have enjoyed many a trek there as an out of office sanctuary. Not to mention a quick lunch run which often turns into a full blown grocery store exploration. One never does know what they will find. Some days there's sushi or Starbucks samples, while on other days there's fresh fruit in the produce section. Now on many a visit I'm honestly surprised about what I uncover (Orange crush muffins, Haunted Ghost Pepper Chips, full bottles of Taco Bell fiery sauce, and Broncos inspired orange french bread etc...). This is in part what makes these visits most exciting. The other exciting piece of exploring King Soopers is the hunt for clearance items. From the freezer to the bakery there are many a deals to be uncovered. Post holiday sales are my favorite. Bottom line is this is a one stop shop for most of your grocery needs (they even have libations: beer and kombucha that is just high enough in alcohol to require a 21+ photo id). From organic fruits/veggies, to fresh baked items this conveniently located store is worth a visit. read more

I visited this Soopers for the first and hopefully last time, just recently. I asked a woman who was loading ice cream into freezer if she knew where I could find unsweetened cacao powder. She told me aisle three. I went to what I thought was aisle 3, though I saw no number and it was blocked by a bunch of boxes. I asked the woman who was opening one of the boxes if this was aisle 3. She said yes with her back to me. I peered around her to see what was in it and it was all supplements. I asked if she worked there, she said yes, without looking up. I explained that I'd been sent to aisle three for the cacao. And she said, "I'm in gardening." Then I moved on to the pharmacy, where the pharmacist didn't greet me and spoke to her co-workers the entire time. Quite an unfriendly and unhelpful bunch. read more

Well stocked super market, but they treat customers like garbage. Under-staffed checkout lanes, and stock-boys blocking isles during peak times. Also, their digital "coupon" scheme is downright fraudulent - only available for specific sizes, for specific purchase methods, and they fail to warn you if you buy something and a digital coupon is NOT applied! Then you have to read your receipt, and your only recourse is to return the item! Also, forget about trying to keep track of this during checkout: most of the checkers are under-trained and/or under-skilled, and they provide NO assistance bagging. So, you end up waiting in ANOTHER line to do the return at customer service. Forget this place, go to Sprouts, Lucky's, or Whole foods. The last one is pricey, but good service. The other two have well-trained checkers who do returns and will check pricing for you. Only go here for staples, and don't expect any sale price to be accurate. read more

Spicy combo with no salmon in sight, even though it says on it that it does has a spicy salmon roll. A tiny pinch of ginger what was enough to put on 3 sushi rolls out of a 12 piece combo. Who dumps a seasoning and sriracha sauce on a sushi rolls? I buy sushi from Louisville King soopers all the time but I never had such a horrible experience at Boulder location. My partner and I normally shop at King Soopers, but our experience today has discouraged us from shopping there again. Today, I got raw chicken juice on my hands because one of King Soopers's products was leaking. I attempted to enter the restrooms, which used to be publicly accessible at this location. An employee informed me that the restrooms were no longer accessible to the public, at which point I asked if there was anywhere else that I could wash my hands. The employee silently stared at me for several seconds. Because that employee simply stopped responding while continuing to stare at me, I proceeded to the deli to acquire hand sanitizer. Luckily, the deli workers allowed me to ask the contaminate off my hands; the deli workers are the only reason why I generously rated this location as having three stars. read more

Terrible customer service, even on the managerial level. The floral department has awful customer service. When you ask for help the employees treat you like you are a huge inconvenience to them. The staff acts like they not only hate you but also themselves. The people at the deli actively try to avoid eye contact with you so they don't have to help you. What they don't realize is if everything was on the shelf where it was supposed to be then people wouldn't ask for help. This store is ridiculous. I actively try to never come in here and I recommend you do the same. I wish I could rate 0/5 stars. The best part about this place is the Kosher bakery. The donuts are the only reason to come here. The new remodel is one big cluster F! The produce section has no flow people are going every which direction. The bread used to be next to the bakery not now. I spoke to the manager about how the store is now set up. He said he has received an avalanche of complaints! Especially during these difficult COVID times you would think the focus would be on flow and social distancing. The remodel has bunched people up and has no flow. I find myself increasing shopping at Walmart. Jelly, Milk, Peanut butter, mayo, etc. Anything that is mass produced comes in a jar or box is cheaper like sometimes a dollar cheaper per item. I hate Walmart and everything it stands for but I have to do what is best for my family. Plus Walmart has free grocery pick-up. King Soopers still has good produce quality for the money. Whole Pay Check produce is the best but most expensive. Walmart is the least expensive, but quality is not the best. Soopers is stuck in the middle. Your being cannibalized from the top and bottom. Pharmacy is cold and will leave you on hold for two hours and then tell you scheduling a Covid booster with them isn't allowed so they pass you off to a 800 number with no one you can understand and you still can't get anything scheduled. I've shopped at this store for 30 years and it's comfortable. I know many of the staff by name and think they're great. I've bought lots of Kroger products. I've not been fond of the canned Kroger soup, but mostly I appreciate Kroger products as a less expensive alternative. All this said, we bought a Kroger corned beef the other day. No aroma while cooking, which was the first red flag. No flavor while eating, which was the nail In the coffin. We've also bought flavorless steaks that looked good enough to give us hope. Nada.
