Steve G and Rambo are the best mechanics! I love King Shell and will always be a loyal customer. Rambo works on weekends and Steve G during the week. There is another good guy there and I'm sorry I don't know his name. The King Shell mechanics are always so knowledgeable and super helpful, and reasonable in cost. I am still pretty new to Ossining, but i have still been going to my old mechanic in the Bronx. But, i need to have a mechanic i can trust in Ossining. My Fit wasn't going over 20mph and i pretty much need my car and a friend told me about this place. i pulled up at 745am and spoke with the main gentleman in the store and right away was helping me with information and giving me an idea of what may be the problem. He truly gave me confidence in their business. a couple hours past and my car is ready. When ever anything happens with your car, you automatically go to OhNooooo, but the courteous service i received from the mechanic and the beginning from the main gentleman at that cashier allowed me stay cool. I brought my car for an inspection was told I needed to replace front and rear brakes to pass. The car would also require an alignment. I checked my records after and the rear brakes had only 14,000 miles of use so did not NEED replacing. I was charged $150 for an alignment, but discovered Shell does not do alignments on site and is charged $80 by another station down the street. Does he need to do a nearly 100% mark up for a job he doesn't perform? Unnecessary work and over charged. stay away from King Shell . read more

Only putting 5 stars so it stays on top and other people can see. Im writing this in part of my grandmother who has had terrible luck with these people. We do not recommend anyone coming her, wasting their time & money. She specifically went for a plain old oil change. That's it. They later recommended to change the anti freeze hose, and after that everything went south. She took her car back to the Toyota mechanic instead of going to another mechanic. This is what Toyota had to say. "Customer states outside shop replace lower radiator hose and performed engine flush. Vehicle now over heats, check engine light is on, trac off, 4wd light and battery light are on. Customer vehicle has hesitation when driving." This shouldn't happen to someone when they go for an oil change. Terrible service. DO NOT recommend anyone going there. This is a Toyota Rav 4 from 2011, it shouldn't need a whole engine change after all this. read more

Stopped in WITHOUT an appointment to try the new mechanic for an oil change on my car, and was very pleased. Steve, the new chief mechanic and manager greeted me and said he could take me right in. Steve was very friendly and deeply customer centered in his focus. He allowed me from outside the open garage door to watch the work being done on my vehicle. This accommodation gave me piece of mind that the proper care was being done on my vehicle. He performed a overall and underneath inspection of my vehicle while the oil change was being done, and made some observations for items to watch out for moving forward. He appears to be an attentive and conscientious mechanic. I will use continue to use his services going forward. read more

This place just got renovated and seems to be under new management. So I decided to go in for new brakes and tires and the man at the front desk was extremely nice (He even gave me 10% off for being a new customer!). They were very helpful and got me what I needed in a timely manner. Highly recommend these guys! read more

DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. I got my car inspected here and they failed me, saying my rear tires were too worn down. They offered me two new tires for $320. Luckily I turned them down and went to Mavis Discount Tire, where they told me I could get two more full years out of those tires before they'd fail inspection. I wasted $37 (which they made me pay in cash) here on an inspection that they set me up to fail. They were unprofessional throughout the whole process. The guy at the register wouldn't stop video chatting with his girlfriend and discussing inappropriate things with her the whole time I was trying to check out. I will be taking further actions against them. Please do not go here. There are many other good shops nearby. read more

This is one of the most despicable place I've ever ran into. They don't understand the concept behind a customer based business at all. They will just simply make you uncomfortable and miserable. No place to wait unless if you want to sit next to a cashier. I waited over 5 hrs for a simple installation! Just imagine sitting next to a cashier for that amount of time. These dorks think that they're doing you a big favor but they're forgetting what kind of business that they're in. There's an immature idiot complaining loudly and staring at me with a monstrous looking facial expression that he had to assist on this work. My experience with King Shell was nothing short of nightmarish and easily the most criminal act I've ever experienced from a service station. They basically performed unauthorized repairs on my car, including deciding to change the timing best, attempting to charge me nearly $1,000 in repairs for what should have been at most $150. Never, ever do business with these people. read more

i went to king shell service station in tarrytown for an inspection. the light bulb on my license plate needed replacement for which i was charged $48 and $7 sales tax. i was seriously ripped off as the job took 3 minutes and $7 represents a 15% sales tax. the mechanic said he would charge me for a half hour's labor which was too much to begin with and he charged me for a full hour's labor plus an illegally high sales tax. i will never go back there again. my new car dealer would have been cheaper read more
