I just recently moved to the area and have been using Yelp for recommendations and I'm happy that my fellow Yelpers got it 100% right with Powers auto care. John is actually a nice guy who cares about customer service and returns both phone calls and emails immediately. I went there for four tires (as well as inspection, oil change, etc.). John walked me through the tires available to me for my vehicle including any rebates offered by the respective companies with zero hard sell at all. It was a nice change from NYC garages I have used in the past, and I could really get used to it! so far so good!! my car is currently in Johns shop right now getting done. Hes been nothing but very accommodating and excellent customer service! im so glad i found him on yelp! I had to file a claim through my insurance and needed my car fixed and John was very helpful and gave me informations about the whole process since it was my first time claiming from my insurance. Took my 04 CRV in for major suspension work. Also put 2 new tires on it, an oil change, and a NYS inspection. Car rides like a dream now. Fantastic job done the same day, incredibly reasonable as well. So reasonable, in fact, when I told a mechanic friend what my total price was, he said he would have charged 20% more. Bottom line, this shop is honest and affordable, which should be enough when looking for somewhere to service your car or hydrofoil. Highly recommended. Hey, I'm joking about the hydrofoil. Really. John gives off this very reliable and honest vibe when you talk to him. He seems very lay back and doesn't try to push you into making unnecessary repairs. He simply lay out the facts for you and let you make your own decision. His shop also charges a very fair price for the repair I have done. About 35% lower than the other shop I have gotten estimates from. What I admire most about John is when he made an error. He called back and admits that he made a mistake as opposed to hiding it because he could have done that and I would have never known. Took my friends' old manual VW beetle for a day at Storm King Park. On our way back the cars' clutch decided to set part of this world, preventing from getting in gear. After several attempts to work our way back (to Brooklyn, NY), we decided to let go and search for a nearby garage. When? Saturday afternoon. We called 10-15 local shops and got only 3 responses from mechanics who agreed to take the car that day. John was the first shop owner I spoke with, and very quickly after, the business to take care of the car. His knowledge, lack of needless promises and down to earth mannerism, made it easy for me to choose him for the job. We spoke every day since I dropped the car while informing me about the process, prices and planned schedule. Every time I called, he answered. Because of the fact that I work full time, the only option for me to pick up the car was on the weekend. John agreed to let me pick it up the weekend after, and even offered me a ride from from the nearest train station. And the car? Sweet.
