Montague's Body Shop - Orange peeled paint?

Montague's Body Shop

(3 reviews)

I just picked up my car after it had been at Montague's for a little over 4 weeks. I had front end…read moredamage and rear end damage. The estimated repair date was pushed back twice and I was without a vehicle. One would think that after 4 weeks of waiting the end result would be flawless. It was far from. In fact I now must return the vehicle and attempt to have them fix it the correct way. (let's see how many weeks this takes.) To start off with the list of wrongs, my airbag light was on when I picked up the car. I asked them why and he said he could have a guy check it out another day. I took it to my mechanic who plugged it in on the spot and found that the airbag sensor was bad. Ok so lets chalk that up to an oops. When I contacted Montague's they advised me to bring it in once they had the part and it would be a "2-3 hour fix". No big deal. Next I noticed, while getting gas, that the side of my rear bumper was a little wobbly. Upon closer inspection i noticed that it wasn't connected to the inner fender well at all, in fact they didn't even use clips to secure it to the body. Instead I found what appears to be a self tapping metal screw holding my bumper up. Now I'm pissed and doing a thorough search and investigation of my car. Upon further inspection I noticed the following: The paint on my hood and bumper look like an orange peel, it's not smooth at all. There is a clearly visible line where they taped for over spray and never blended. There is over spray on the trunk, the trunk and spoiler were never removed and there is still damage present. The front fender that was installed appears bent because it doesn't line up with either the headlight or the bumper. The bumper isn't secured to the underside of the car, the hood is crooked and finally the grill of the vehicle is crooked. So now after 4 weeks of having no car I have to broach this subject with them tomorrow. Either Montague's or Progressive owe me a rental until this is fixed. Fixed the correct way. Oh and to Melissa's review from 2011, Fernando no longer works here. I never would have expected this in Briarcliff, A severe lack of integrity.

I recently had my 2011 Honda CR-Z repaired there after a car reversed…read more into it. My car was scratched and dented from the incident. Montague's service from start to finish was painless, prices are fair and my car was ready the same day. The guys there are friendly and efficient. The work they had done was phenomenal. I would recommend Montague's for anyone looking for the best of the best. Thanks again Fernando!!
