This place worked for me. I don't know if it would work for everyone else. The WiFi signal was non existent in my room so no streaming services. I stayed here for three weeks while working a maintenance outage at the local plant. It was quiet at night and for the most part during the day when I was there. They have a weekly rate and they clean the room on Wednesdays. The door frame was cracked from being broken in, and same with the bathroom door. The comforter had cigarette burns in it. No bugs. The ac worked and the mini fridge. And the staff were super friendly. I would stay here again. read more

This is the scummiest place I've ever stayed. I can't make this up it was your classic movie motel. There were transients outside and around constantly. There was a man and woman scoping the joint as though they were looking for a mark? Yknow the room for her to give services. The cops were there on my last night. And this is just the atmosphere. You get into the room and immediately industrial bathroom air freshener hits your nose along with the smell of mildew. Light fixtures didn't have covers. Loose outlets that haven't been changed in years. Holes in walls there were unvacuumed parts of my room. I found a cigarette butt that had been put out in one of the drawers. The floor looks like it hasn't been vacuumed in a month. The room smells Smokey. The countertops still have leftover spill from whoever stayed here last. To the positive- we slept hard. Now for reality; ick. I don't mind things not being new and nice but CLEAN is a must. We walked in to the smell of bleach which I was grateful for until it wore off... bottom line this place is grungy- the remote has NEVER been wiped down. Yes, the toilet appeared clean and sealed but the dresser top was dirty. The ground outside our second floor room has not seen a hose. There was a rolling desk chair outside our door with one child's shoe. We washed our hands everytime we touched something-. The general feeling here is ... touch then wash... I'm sorry but in this case an extra hundred bucks will be worth it. You will be paying for protein with the continental breakfast; actual cream for the coffee and hair conditioner in the bathroom basket... as well as peace of mind that it is much cleaner. We were always in our shoes. Bath towels were tiny. Just a lot little yucks. Our closing bill was a little over $100 so you really do get what you pay for. Hubby says lots of construction workers and trucks - they deserve cleanliness!!!! If you care about cleanliness on the whole; opt for somewhere else. Homeless camps/people & broken cars surrounding the building. "Hot tub" has no jets so it's a warm bath that lead to a yeast infection. THIEF ALERT Save your money and stay anywhere else. I left for the airport, and realized I left my jacket in the room, but couldn't turn around or I would miss my flight. I called the desk immediately. The first response was that it may not be there, but they would check. I then explained that I just left the room. It's locked and no one would be able to access that room otherwise as I had the only key which was inside the room (and I had booked it through the following morning anyways). The clerk said she would have it checked and hung up. I called back. She thought it would be a good idea to have the room cleaned (not check on the jacket herself). Then claimed that there was no jacket found. I explained it was a gift from my wife so please check again. She hung up. I called back and insisted that she call the person that cleaned the room. That person claimed they never found a jacket. I hope whoever was gifted my jacket by the staff at this place enjoys it as much as I did. read more

Staying for few weeks... First week... I keep finding cat poop outside my door and by my car. Called the front desk to request someone clean it. Got nothing but a pissy attitude from the lady at the front desk. She insisted the smells from the freeway. I took a picture of the pile of cat shit outside by my car. I know it wasn't the freeway. Second week. I hear a dog bathing few rooms down vary loudly asked someone if front desk to deal with it and I get told there's noting they can do. Week three... I wake up farley early to construction and loud banging in the room below mine. I inform the front desk my pregnant wife is trying to sleep and they tell my there sorry but nothing they can do. We moved from San Diego, California to Washington and when I came across this place in one of the coupon books at a Denny's I was stoked! I called and requested price checks on a room! First of all they don't charge per person! Yay!!! It was five of us total. Two adults and three kids. The staff was great from the beginning. The area was safe which was my biggest concern because of kids and we're traveling with a trailer. The room was spacious and clean. Pressure from water was great. T.V. Awesome. Easy to navigate the channels. The inside pool and jacuzzi where the real winners. We did take advantage of the continental breakfast which was yummy. I love this little hidden gem of a motel will definitely make this one to come back to on our travels! And highly recommend anyone to stay here. read more

This was my first time using Yelp to help guide me to a place to sleep, and dang: I have been missing out! You can't beat the value here. It's an older motel but kept up very well, and it's CLEAN! I felt better about staying here than I do at most "name brand" hotels. It's nothing fancy but they do get the essentials right: microwave, fridge, and coffee maker in each room, wireless Internet (call the front desk for password), and a good breakfast. Apparently they have a pool and hot tub as well but we didn't have time to check that out. The ladies working the desk are very kind and helpful. We hit breakfast right before they closed at 10AM, and before they cleaned up they asked if we wanted anything else (we did and they were very gracious!). For $50 you really can't beat this. You might not be able to beat it for $20 or $30 more, either! read more

This was my second time staying here. The first visit was a fairly good experience. Our room was clean and looked updated. The pool was clean but the hot tub had some mildew around it and the water was disturbingly yellow. But I thought it was ok for the money. However this time the room we received was dingy, the pillows were odd, like cases filled with random foam pieces ( a simple and inexpensive fix). Bathroom tile was moldy and shower has NO and I mean NO water pressure. And pool was broken. Oh, and the blow dryer started smoking and shut off 30 seconds after turning it on. On the upside the front desk person was fairly friendly. Worth paying a little more for a nicer hotel. read more

We were pleasantly surprised by the service and value we received at the King Oscar in Centralia, WA. We expected a typical motel experience, but quickly discovered they were above average. The rooms were very clean, spacious with large comfortable beds, great parking, and large clean bathrooms. Nice decor, comfortable desk area, welcoming lobby, friendly staff. Free breakfast (if ya wake up early enough) and easy freeway access. From the east side of the hotel we had NO freeway noise! KOM had well lit parking and outdoor areas with decent foliage. Overall this was a great stay. They have now added WiFi and it's stable and fast. They have installed new flat panel TV's that are clear and work well! We were also a bit surprised by the level of precaution taken at the time of check in. The clerk took our ID's and made a copy of them. What do they need a color copy of my ID for.... seems strange, but other motels in Centralia do too . I also wish they would extend their breakfast hours so that people who check out at "check-out time" could enjoy some waffles! 5 Stars - For the price, it's "As good as it gets" read more

We we're looking for someplace inexpensive and we came upon this online. When you drive up the outside looks a little shady but when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised. The lobby was very clean and the lady who checked us in was very friendly. Our room was very large and had a microwave and refrigerator. The room was clean and I would stay here again. We payed $96 for this hotel for its ap proximity to the hospital where my husbands grandpa is hospitalized and for the fact it has an indoor pool. A pool we need so I can occupy my three children while husband at hospital visiting dying Grandpa. We travelled from Seattle and got here at 217 pm I called to see if we could do early check in. Was told no that was not possible so we had to take kids to park u fortunately it was raining. Oh well. I was didsapointed because in all of my years of traveling this was one of the few times early check in was denied what seemed to be for no reason parking lot was only 1/6 full. The room was clean with the exemption of a lot of dust. The decoration is out of date what you expect for a 40 a night room. The breakfast has a waffle bar and a small variety of pastries. Orange juice apple juice and coffee with powdered creamer and sugar. No cold water. And only butter and grape jelly to put on English muffins. The pool is nice and the only reason to spend close to a 100 a night is for pool. If you don't care about pool or warm days pick another hotel motel with no pool or outdoor. I asked for late check out. The very unfriendly front desk woman said noon. Of the 3 total receptionist only one is unfriendly. She acts as if she hates her job and people. Another oh well. Next time I will spend the extra 20 a night and stay at quality inn. If you can get this motel for under 60 then stay. Paying more is not worth it. read more

So they were going to get a little higher of a review until we were without water for a while. We'll get there in a minute. We chose this place due to them taking pets and a lack of openings at other hotels in the area that did as well. It obviously doesn't look like much on the outside but we were fingers crossing it that it would be okay. I completely spaced to call them until the day of our reservation to request a pet friendly room and they were able to accommodate us, thank goodness. Points to them. Then we arrived and were told that the pool was down for maintenance, so they waived our pet fee. Another point for them. The room itself was a little run down but clean. So it was fine. However, when we got back from our event, the water wasn't running. My husband called the front to inquire and was basically told they had a plumber working on it, and was given an option to check out with a partial refund. So with no where else to go due to having a pet with us, we really had no choice but to wait it out. The water came back on in the middle of the night. When we checked out I don't feel like there was a real apology for the inconvenience. Overall, if you have the option, choose some place else. read more

HORRIFYING! My daughter was down for her 25th birthday and decided she didn't want to impose on anyone, so she rented a room here. She was so excited about being able to swim in their indoor pool........until......... we get down to the pool, and there is NO ONE watching approximately 20-25 children ages ranging from 5- 11, despite signs saying no children allowed without parental supervision. They were consuming the entire pool, shoving my daughters friend, who is an adult. Doing flips right almost on top of us. We then decided to try and sit in the hot tub.......yeah. Soon as they realized we went there, that's where all of them were, splashing us in our faces, and making what was supposed to be an enjoyable time, downright horrible. The room was adequate for the price, but would rather spend the extra money on a better, more regulated hotel. read more

The driveway was so steep that our trailer bottomed out, then we noticed lots of other gouges in their driveway from that very thing I'm sure- so be weary of that. You get what you pay for. First I must say that the room was very clean which was a pleasant surprise considering the outside appearance. There were also people hanging outside which was a little unsettling but it was late and there was no turning back - the room was already paid for. The beds are advertised as queen sized beds but I'm pretty sure they are full sized. The air/heat unit is extremely loud when it kicks on, so if you're a light sleeper, you may have issues. The sound and force of the toilet flushing is also a little extreme. Toilet water even splashed out from the toilet. Water pressure in the shower is weak. The entry wall inside the room had some odd drip marks down the whole thing. My blanket had 2 small holes in it, not sure what caused them. Two pillows per bed with no extras. The lampshades were mismatched and one of them was torn. The view outside the window was a direct view of windows to other rooms. There was no sheer curtain to allow natural light in while maintaining some privacy. Upon checkout, there was a guest paying for another week's stay. That made sense as to why there were people hanging out upon arrival - they probably live there. My family arrived late at night and stayed just 1 night. This isn't the type of place my family typically stays at but because it wasn't a vacation stay and just needed a place to sleep, I'm not complaining because the price was so low. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place started out friendly, but when we decided not to stay any longer, things turned ugly. Checkout was at 11am, and we were waiting for a ride. Our ride had an emergency, and we couldn't get out by 11am. We called the front desk, and she said, don't stress it, but check-in is at 3pm. If we stay after that, we have to pay for another day, even if we leave right after. At 1pm, we had found another place to go and told them we were leaving, we just needed to get our stuff. She said okay. 10 minutes later, when we were starting to leave, the police knocked on our door. They dragged my husband out of the room and arrested him for trespassing. The police took all our stuff and put it outside the room. The owners of the hotel put all of our stuff in the back of their truck, and dropped it all off in the parking lot of the other hotel we rented from. They told the maid of that hotel that I was their problem now, and drove off without a word to me. The police kept my husband overnight and released him in the morning. The owners pressed trespassing charges against him. Now my husband has to go to court and faces criminal charges, because we were 2 hours late checking out of this motel. read more

The Centralia King Oscar is a bit of a quandary unless you throw in the notion "everyone has an off day." The check-in was friendly and supportive (if a bit harried) even with the previously noted oddly intrusive practice of taking a complete color copy of state-issue ID as a condition of rental. The transfer from a room with pubic hair from a prior tenant on the floor of the restroom was gracious and well-handled. That it should have been necessary was, rather less than a good sign. The 85yo (who wouldn't complain if there were a flock of poo-flinging flying monkeys were nesting on the ceiling fan) could not get her room heater-a/c to work properly (of course, she could've called the office - or me - but still...). Overall, the King Oscar in Centralia suffered less from being a bad facility (because it honestly isn't - huge rooms, bigger restrooms and with an obvious default to clean) than it suffered from being under-staffed with but a single visible employee for the whole thing after 8pm. Throw in the day crew having an off day, and all is not likely to go well. So. Stay here again? Yes. Clearly deserves a 2nd chance. Get all celebratory and rah-rah? Not quite yet, but the place has obvious potential. Value for money? Potentially. read more

It's clean, beds are comfortable and less than $60/night. More only complaint was no blowdryer...but had a pretty good night's sleep. A nice surprise. We had been staying at one of the newer hotels in the area when we come through, but thought we would save some money on this pass. We had our two grand children with us. The room was clean and quiet. The indoor pool was a hit. The room had cable, a nice TV, free wifi, a fridge and microwave. The free breakfast area was clean and adaquate.
