Went to this place only a couple of days ago. tried a small amount of food from the buffet. The food was cold. Tried some fried shrimp which was cold and stale. I then order egg drop soup from the buffet. I pour some in a small container and a long hammerhead worm comes out with the soup. I went back to show them and all they did was offer more soup And say mistakes happen. Never going to this place again ever. This place is a health hazard.

    Don't eat here. Skip it.

The succulent sushi, the tender beef & broccoli, with the expertly made stuffed mushrooms will NOT BE FOUND HERE. I stopped to get gas and it was pouring rain. I wanted to eat something healthy for lunch so I stopped here. I saw this was rated 3 stars & reasonable in price. Tasteless, sushi was bland. I can't believe the hot & sour soup would be tasteless except for the Red chilli spice. The stuffed mushrooms were hard and seemed to be from the night before, put in the fridge & recycled for lunch ( today). I will say the fried rice & white rice was good . The staff was polite. Don't eat here. Yes it is cheap but bad. I will never eat here again.

I think its one of the best around the Clayton and Garner area. They are always friendly and the food is above average for a Chinese buffet.

Good selection, variety of "not on the menu" selections, like Black Pepper Chicken.

I came right before a show at the Alamo Drafthouse around the corner, which makes it the perfect night out for dinner and show. It looks like a lot of people order takeout here, but they have ample tables and do offer an excellent dine in service. I loved their green beans and eggplant. All their food felt more authentic and homestyle than your typical run of the mill Chinese place. The food had flavor, and it wasn't overly greasy either! I'll definitely come back next time in near north Raleigh.

The shrimp, beef, & chicken meal would've been okay if the beef hadn't been questionably fresh (I didn't eat any after the first bite) and the tough, overcooked shrimp. I tipped 15% because the service was terrible. Aside from the lady yelling, "It's okay?" from the kitchen, she never checked on me. Usually, I tip between 25-30%. After I paid and left the restaurant, the rude cashier followed me out to my car. Pointing to the receipt & tip, he yelled, "This is it?? %15 tip??" The only positive thing that I can say about Chuan Cafe is that the Diet Coke was good.

Room for probably 3 diff groups of people to eat. There were tables to seat 4, two tall stool seats by the window facing the parking lot, and a tucked away spot with a folding chair beside it and had cups of utensils on it. I ordered the cold flour noodle with sesame sauce and the shaanxi mutton soak buns. Both were tasty and the cold noodles were refreshing. The employee described the mutton soak buns dish as a soup soaked pancake which is pretty accurate. It reminds me of a rice porridge but with chopped dough instead of rice. The restroom is in the back through the kitchen which is kinda cool because you can see them rolling out all the round flat bread that they use for the dishes. I'm guessing it's what they use for the rougamo (I've seen it at other Chinese restaurants described as a Chinese hamburger) and the shaanxi soak buns. It almost has a gnocchi type of consistency. It isn't your average fried rice and stir fry type of Chinese restaurant so if you're looking for something like that it might not meet your expectations. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Also, get the plum juice. It's delicious!
