Let me prefer by saying that I was 3 months pregnant when we came here. (morning sickness and all). If I hadn't gotten sick and thrown up right after eating I would have given this place 4.5 stars!! My husband and I are picky about our Asian food, seeing as how he is Chinese. This place was great! Very big space with a lively environment and we even came on a Sunday. The food was actually REALLY good. It's not every day we find a decent Asian food place that's serves both authentic Chinese dishes, but also "Americanised" Chinese food. Which is great for people you don't like trying chicken feet. They not only serves Chinese food but Japanese, Vietnamese, and even Mongolian grill. My wife and I don't consider ourselves picky eaters and I normally don't write reviews. However, we were really disappointed in this place. Things we liked -bread rolls -pot stickers -chocolate cake -staff (they were nice) -Mongolian grill (though there were not very many options) -Veggies The "let downs" require explanation. Like most Chinese buffets, a large portion of the menu items have some type of meat. None of the buffet meats we had were enjoyable. They were soggy, and were not kept warm (some were colder than room temperature). Even at buffets, I enjoy most sushi rolls, but half of them were hard to find pleasure in, and all of them were low quality. To give them credit, low quality is to be expected for sushi rolls at buffets. read more

I was really excited to try King Buffet. The idea of an Asian buffet was something I had to try. The staff was really friendly. We were seated quickly. It was a shock to find no prices listed at entry and we did't pay until we were finished. The Chinese food was not very good. It was very bland and entirely lacked spice. The salad bar was good. The Sushi was pretty good. They allow you to choose ingredients and cook them for you. This was time consuming and not very user friendly. The desserts lacked flavor. I want a chocolate cake to taste like chocolate. The ice cream was soft serve and it is difficult to mess it up. The price was ok. I might return. The jury is still out on that. read more

Huge selection, food is fresh and good. Stay away from the fried rice, chow mein, sweet-and-sour chicken (More bread than chicken), Stuffed shrimp, egg drop soup (thick), and crab rangoons (very dry). Lunch is definitely cheaper than dinner although with a drink it's about a dollar less then dinner without a drink. The Mongolian part of it was pretty good but they don't give food back in the order if was received so I got mine back while the four people in front of me still were waiting for theirs. It's pretty good. Also very glitzy and flashy. Very hong kong. I think I've been there 4 times now. I'll be back. The dinner selection has a lot of shellfish if you're into shellfish. I can't eat it myself. The chicken, pork, etc dishes are all usually reasonably well made, though on one visit the sesame chicken seemed to have been marinaded in yesterday's "sweet and sour" cherry syrup and was gross and inedible. The sushi is so-so, even as buffet sushi goes. One upside is that at least at dinner you can get unagi with as much eel sauce as you want, the downside is that your unagi is ice cold and has never seen the inside of a cute little toaster oven. This is a cardinal sin. Generally speaking, the sushi rice is too densely packed and is not seasoned at all. They also don't always clearly mark the rolls, so, i am left wondering if some items contain shrimp. The mongolian grill is very disappointing. The selection of fixings isn't wide at all. You could augment some of the missing vegetable choices with things from the salad bar with a short trip, but there is no sesame oil or seeds, no sherry, no chili oil, no lemon sauce. The chicken seems ok but the beef is just discs of round that come off the grill like beef jerky - and the terrible beef and ok chicken are your only meat choices other than krab. There's no pork, let alone different kinds of pork like you'd get at some of the better places. They weren't even keeping the mongolian grill assembly table clean when i went through and i was left with sticky hands from handling the ladles and tongs. For that matter, there is a weird selection of tongs at this place. Most are fine, some are these red plastic disposable things that can't grip anything and frequently just scissor and fling your food around. Some are U-shaped metal tongs that have too much spring and are awkward to handle even if you have very strong hands like i do. If you want mongolian, there are much better places in the valley to get it, even for less money. If you want standard chinese buffet fare, it's pretty good here, though i would like to see some more Beijing style and Szechuan style options. Not a black bean to be found in the place. read more

I'm torn with what to give this place. My husband loves it, but I think it's just ok. Pros- tons of food options, food was fresh when we went, the tables were nice and big, and server was great. My biggest con is that even with the food being fresh it's really just mediocre food (nothing special). I might possibly be biased because I don't eat fish or sushi, my husband does and loves it here. So the foods that were not fish options were deep fired frozen foods. Although he says the sushi isn't as fresh because they make it and it sits there for a while. So I guess what I'm saying is that if you like buffets that offer a variety of fish food types, then go here. If you're more into American style buffets, stick with chuck-a-rama. read more

My husband and I have been here only twice but both times we did take out and never have eaten in. We get however many containers we want, usually 2 and it is priced by the pound depending on what you get. We go during lunch time so the price is $4.25/lb for everything we want (no seafood) and end up leaving paying around $10.00 and having plenty of food for two meals for the both of us. Whenever we go over the always round back to the nearest 1/4 pound. It's quick and easy and is definitely worth the price. I have to mention we hate Panda Express - don't waste your money there and go to Kings instead! You will get more for your money! read more
