My dog had his annual checkup this morning, and we were assigned Dr. Jennise Fermoso. Dr. Fermoso…read moreentered the exam room and asked me how I was doing. When I asked her back, she sighed, stated it's been a rough week, and shared that her kid has been sick and subsequently got her sick. I asked her if she was currently actively sick, and she responded, "Yeah, but it's just a little cold." Her demeanor was lighthearted, and she chuckled at points while sharing this information. Surprised, I asked her if she had a higher quality mask she could wear, as she was wearing a loose surgical mask and we were in a small, enclosed space. She eventually, briefly, wore an N95 when circling back. Thinking of other clients and patients who would unknowingly come into contact with her while she is very likely still contagious, I recommended that she continue wearing the higher quality mask. She responded with, "O.K., thank you." in a flippant and condescending tone on her way out of the exam room. I touched base with the front desk staff and asked if it was possible to add a note to my file that my dog never be seen by Dr. Fermoso again. The staff member said yes, absolutely, and apologized, the latter to which I replied that it wasn't the staff member who did anything wrong. The staff member was kind and helpful, updated my dog's file, and wished me a better day ahead. We take our pets to Pets First to be seen by those who take science and patient care seriously. The dissonance of being infected through close contact, acknowledging the hardship it has created, and then heading into work to cavalierly perpetuate the same cycle by potentially infecting others is not behavior patients and clients should be forced to deal with when seeing a medical professional. Dr. Fermoso is not a veterinarian I would recommend to anyone hoping for quality care for their pets, and her actions imply a wider culture of acceptance within the clinic that cause me to question the integrity and trustworthiness of Pets First overall.

The Vet said to bring him back for yet another surgery to fix it! This is a horrific surgery and recovery protocol. Finley had his first hematoma as a kitten, and when this happened again, now with the other ear, we considered putting him down to spare him the pain and misery. I cried thinking of how he suffered during the first recovery protocol. Dr..Siwek sent me home with homeopathic hemorrhoid cream. I was to spread that on his ear, 3 times a day. We saw results after the first day. Within 2-3 days the fluid had been re absorbed by his body, no swelling, no "pillow" in his ear, and we never had another problem with this ever again. Needs to be homeopathic and a cream, not an ointment. Hard to find these days! It will eliminate the need for this awful and expensive surgery for animals Thank You Dr.Siwek! God Bless!

Dr. Katz is a wonderfully attentive integrative vet who is establishing herself in this area…read more Before making an appointment, it's important to understand that she is an integrative vet and not meant to replace your primary vet. Any emergent or even urgent issues may require your general vet and not her services. The facility is clean and the rooms have lots of washable pads on the floor since you will be sitting on the floor with her and your companion. No tables for the dogs or cats to be placed on leading to a more relaxed environment for all. (Common practice in a lot of integrative offices.) While everything is kept clean, it is still a vet office and you are sitting on the floor. Use common sense and don't wear your best clothes. Dr. Katz is incredibly attentive and has often kindly responded to me outside regular offices hours via email. That said, she is the only vet in the practice and does need to set boundaries with her hours. If there were to be a true urgent need outside her hours, I would contact either my general vet or ER facility and then connect with her once she re-opened. In a few cases when there was a possibility for concern, she let me know she would be checking her emails regularly over the weekend. This is above and beyond what a typical vet has ever offered me. In response to the other Yelp review...I have never seen Dr. Katz raise her voice or even become agitated with her staff at the DG facility. It sounds like the other reviewer personally saw Dr. Katz "yell" at staff members one time. That is surprising to me but I can say that we all have bad days and may define "yelling" differently. If she was having a particularly bad day, can any one of us honestly say we haven't spoken in a way we regret with a co-worker? Aggression isn't in any way the norm that I see when I am in the office. One of the staff members has been there since she opened, I believe, and is always cheerful. Other techs who have worked with me have spoken highly of what Dr. Katz is able to accomplish. What goes on behind closed doors may be different, but the other review made it sound like there could have been one disgruntled person at the other office. Tough to say but certainly there are many examples of just the opposite experience. Also, in my many visits there has never been a timer during an appointment (with her or the chiropractor) nor have I ever felt even slightly rushed. All of my questions have been answered and details have been covered. For a more specific experience, I can explain that I initially met with Dr. Katz when my girl was having digestive issues (anorexia, vomiting, etc.) but in all other ways seemed fine. We had made an emergency trip to Arboretum View where they ran all sorts of tests...and got no answers. We saw the general vet twice as well as a specialist. They all admitted they were only treating the symptoms and had no idea the root cause. One visit with Dr. Katz and my girl was entirely back to herself and demanding meals by the next day. That is not to say you will get the same results. This is simply an example of what MIGHT be possible. If your general vet is getting the job done and your companion is happy, healthy and not on any medications...then you may not need Dr. Katz's services. If your companion IS on daily medication of any sort or just not as active as they once were, then make an appointment. You will find your time well spent.

Never very active to begin with, we struggled with her weight more and more, her walks got shorter, she stopped doing things like jumping on the bed or couch, and just getting up seemed more painful, even tho she's on rimadyl and dasuquin. Other neighbors told me about IPC, so off we went. Here's our summary... - love the people...they care about our dog, many are actively involved in rescue, and they're just genuinely good, caring people - they were flexible on the program...we changed and adapted a bit based on how Godiva was doing - we found the right mix of everything, and tho Godiva would plateau some weeks, she dropped weight in others, down a total of 12 lbs so far - Godiva does underwater treadmill, therapeutic exercise, laser and massage - I get a crazy number of compliments on how good Godiva looks, not just that she has a waist, but her energy is up, eyes are bright again. Her dog walker hears the same on his walks w her. We're all just so proud of her progress - she walks further and longer than she has in years. She used to sit on the sidewalk and watch the world go by, now she goes out and scopes it all out on her walks - she started getting back up on the couch and bed again - while Godiva (like her mom) will never say exercise is her favorite thing, she's a trouper with her workouts, and seems to genuinely enjoy going, hanging out w the people and dogs she's gotten to know. The mental stimulation for this senior dog has had a positive impact that I didn't anticipate when we first started going I love seeing the other dog owners so deeply attached to their puppers, whether they're seniors, or just in for an injury recovery/rehab. It's like a little sub community of dogs and people. Can't say enough about IPC, they've given us the gift of (what I believe to be) more time with our girl, and definitely improved quality of life. He was diagnosed with Stage IV cervical IVDD and had surgery in late September. He had a super complicated post op course including neck spasms, chronic UTIs, widespread muscle wasting, and chronic constipation. He was literally wasting away in front of us. He still couldn't walk at Thanksgiving. Within two months at IPC, my dog was walking around the house, gaining weight and the bathroom issues cleared up. Five months with IPC and he's back to his pre-op weight and walking around the neighborhood like nothing ever happened. Dr. Martin and the team at IPC did an amazing job and really have gone above and beyond in saving my little buddy. The staff there are great, I wish I could name them all here. I can't thank them all enough and highly recommend IPC.

AMC was, sure, just as expensive, but the priority was on the cat! They spelled it out from beginning to end and achieved the best results I was hoping for. I called in advance about parking but never told about needing to pay for parking until arrived. I am not familiar with the area and got lost and called...five or six times. Left voicemails that were not returned to let the clinic know that I had arrived, but I needed help in terms of parking and exactly where to go. When, I finally reached someone I was told it's because it's a small clinic and limited staff and that I should've sent an email. I did send an email as well and the person had no reply to that. instead, asked how I would pay for the $$ appointment at the end and I provided my credit card. I have been trying to email them for the past two weeks and they replied one time and have not since to follow up emails. Pretty sure I just got duped. I am still new to having a pet. I've been trying my best to get the best care possible (holistic) including spending more than I can afford and also traveling a distance for it and I'm really not seeing the benefits...
