Wonderful people and selection of merchandise; very nice and well organized business and great location

I have been in to shop maybe 4 or 5 times in the past year. (Don't as me why I go back?!) Only ONCE was I greeted. Yesterday I was in, no greeting, no offer to help. I found some really cute things, placed them on the counter and no one came to help me. I think the lady there may have been the owner as she was telling another woman how everyone was on vacation and she was by herself. This did not stop her from ignoring a paying customer to chat. Warning: the owner and staff are very rude. They also pay very little to customers bringing in their clothes, shoes, and accessories for sale. It's shameful, all around. Such a pity because it was a much nicer business with previous owners. read more

Amazing selection of clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry. Some great designer choices too! Everything was in good shape. This particular visit the dresses were gorgeous! Many appropriate for a nice wedding. Some dresses were designer with the new tags still on them! The store is clean and VERY well organized. Don't miss out on this gem. read more

DO NOT waste your time. They act as if they are doing you a favor when you call to sell your clothes, scheduling you out months in advance and telling you a dozen times they only take "20 items to review at a time". Then when you get there (if they even take you bc I had this f'ing appt for months and they told me I'm not in their appt book and turned me away) they pick your clothes apart and make you feel small. Really ladies, are we in 3rd grade here?? Let's be kind to everyone. My girlfriends/family and I will no longer go there. read more

I'm glad there is a consignment store in Wexford for Women's fashion (Wexford needs more consignment stores!) and I've been coming here on and off for years... but I have two issues... 1) it smells like Plato's closet, like everything here is just doused in toxic Febreze! I just cannot stand the smell of this place and how hard it is to get that stale Febreze smell out of the clothes I do buy there... and 2) I feel that, recently, the items just are nothing to write home about. Lots of Talbots clothing (nothing against Talbots but there was just a LOT of it) especially in the larger sizes, the jewelry and most of the handbags they have are incredibly dated (I do expect things to be a bit dated at a consignment store, but the selections here I don't think I would've liked 10 years ago), and their pricing is a bit high for some items. Recently I've visited several times and walked away with nothing, sometimes with 1-2 things. Never a big haul form here (though, it is a relatively small and quaint store!). read more

This is the 2nd time I've been to Kindred Spirits since it's been under new ownership, and this trip had me pleasantly surprised. The first time I visited a couple of months ago, the employee was not wearing a mask. She was very nice, however all I noticed was the lack of mask which made me uncomfortable and I left soon after. This time, both employees were masked and socially distanced and I felt much better shopping. What I noticed is that some awesome improvements have been made! I started consigning at the store years before. I had some negative experiences which saw me stop consigning. Namely, I felt that the owner was not knowledgeable about certain designers and also rude. I had consigned some Giuseppe Zanotti shoes that were new without tags and they priced them at $24. By the time they'd sent me the price sheet and I called to address their error, they'd already been sold. This happened a few times, and I noticed that merch seemed to be way underpriced or way overpriced with seemingly little rhyme or reason to their system. I also spotted them selling a clearly fake Louis Vuitton bag once - the monogram pattern lined up incorrectly and the seams were in the wrong place. Basically, I had long-term issues with their pricing and merchandising. The other thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is that one day while shopping, the owner and employee were discussing politics and their clearly Republican leanings. Discussing politics in front of me, a customer, was rude and a faux pas plus I did not agree with their opinions at all. So, I stopped consigning and shopping with them. When I discovered that the store was under new ownership, I had to give Kindred Spirits another chance. This time, I noticed that prices are more uniform and their merchandise is more current. I saw lots of Anthropologie brands, brands that had been missing under the old ownership, plus many items new with tags. The staff has been so kind both times I've visited and, other than the mask issue, I've really enjoyed shopping with them again. I'm planning on consigning again soon. The vibes are overall much better! read more

Terrible store. Took up items one day. Some items were rejected which is fine. But a few items were accepted. Get a call the NEXT DAY for me to come and get the accepted items since someone else decided they didn't pass their whatever qualifications. They really don't know what they're doing. So another trip up there to pick up the items. If you take items in and they are accepted for resale, don't believe them. Expect a call the next day for you to come back up to retrieve them. If you have not been here in the last year...YOU SHOULD GO! The new owner Tracy is AMAZING!! She knows good taste and prices the clothing and amazing accessories where you can always feel you are getting great deals! And there are always amazing sales too! The sales people can't do enough to assist and are so sweet. I buy and sell there...it is such a pleasure to work with Tracy...I made over $400 in 2 days! And spent half of it there! I have been a long time out of town consignor and always had a good experience with the former owner and her staff. I've called the shop several times over the last couple of weeks trying to have a check sent to me for items I've sold. I keep getting the run around as to why they can't send me the money. Always going to check into it and will call me back but never do. Called again today and the person who answered the phone was the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to. When I expressed frustration with the amount of effort it was taking to receive payment I was told that they were busy and not to lecture her and then she hung up on me. I love clothes shopping and I'm frugal, but I must admit that I'm usually not a big fan of thrift/consignment stores. I often find myself quickly losing patience when sifting through disorganized racks of mediocre clothes hunting for that rare diamond in the rough. However, I recently came to Kindred Spirits for the first time with a friend who is a consignment-shopping guru, and I must say that I was impressed! This is her favorite consignment shop in the greater Pittsburgh area, and I can see why. This store is beautifully decorated and makes you feel like you are at an exclusive boutique, not a consignment shop. The clothes are well-organized by size, type, and color, and there is enough breathing room between fixtures that you don't feel like you're on top of other patrons as you browse. They have a really large selection of clothes from tons of different designers, and everything seemed to be in good shape and on trend. On my recent trip here, I snagged a super comfy Calvin Klein dress that was in *perfect* condition and couldn't have been more than a year old for fourteen dollars! So needless to say, I was very happy with their prices. I was also impressed with their selection of shoes...much bigger than most other consignment stores (and again, their shoes looked to be in great shape). The dressing rooms had adequate space and were clean. I've never tried to consign anything myself here, so I can't comment on that aspect of this store. As for service, I was greeted when I walked in, and the woman who rang up my purchases was adequately friendly as well. No complaints there. Now that I know this place exists, I will definitely be back periodically as their merchandise rotates to snag myself some more great deals! read more

Went here as a first time shopper and consigner. Brought a bag full of items.... All the ladies working here (short blobde hair, short brown hair and long brown hair) they were all very snooty and rude. Gave attituide because my stuff wasnt on hangers or pressed (i didnt know) alot of my stuff was brand new designer with tags on it an they didnt accept anything.... Sounded like they were upset they had to get an iron out and use their hangers. Store is pretty, a lot of their items are over priced. But due to the rudeness of the staff, i wont be going back. read more

Kindred Spirits is hands down one of my favorite places to shop! Be sure to factor in plenty of time to shop as they tend to have a good amount of merchandise from all sorts of great brands. Do take time to try everything on and inspect it because it is a consignment store (check all buttons, seams, etc). As a young professional, work clothing can be expensive! If you are flexible on style, you can find some steals! I tend to go straight to the 75-90% off section and start there. During my last trip I got 7 items of clothing (2 skirts, 2 pairs of leggings & 3 shirts) for under $20 - one item even still had the original tags one. Why shop anywhere else when you can find great quality clothing at such great prices? Now putting clothes on consignment is a little more work intensive. Call ahead and set up an appointment, you cannot just stop in. Make sure that all of your clothing is on hangers and is clean and pressed. This store takes inventory right on to the floor after being tagged if it is the right season. It is more work on the seller but given the vibe of the store and the clothing they sell - it pays off in the long run with a better commission. read more

My favorite store anywhere! You would never know its a consignment store! The shop is beautifully merchandised; its pure eye candy with high turnover of a wide variety of great items ranging from gently used designer merchandise to new trendy jewelry, elegant clothes, furnishings , decorative items, all at outstanding prices. The employees are wonderful and well, when you top it off with a cup of coffee and a great BATHROOM , what more could you ask for! The owner, Mary Ann, and her staff are so nice and more importantly, honest! You will always get a straight answer and candid advice if you are undecided about purchasing something. Pretty uppity for people selling used clothing. Some of which are brands found easily at TJ max for half the price. Yes, they have Boden, Ralph Lauren and stuff from Sacks but prices are entirely too high. It's almost August. Put your white pants on sale, people. read more

I went into this store for the first time today. I've lived in Wexford for years and have heard many mixed reviews. The store is over crowded and most items are over priced. There were two women working, and neither one said a word to me. One actually made eye contact, looked me up and down, and then walked away. Needless to say, I won't be going back. The only good thing about this place is the cute little white dog running around. He is so friendly, much friendlier than the staff. read more

Went to kindred spirit for the first time today to consign some designer clothing. I have never been treated with such disrespect and rudeness from the sales clerk. She literally barked at me call Mont ordering me to step back out of the room to examine my clothing to examine my clothing that I have for sale. I will never ever go back again in this lifetime or the next. Just wondering if anybody else is been bombast it as I was at this place were treated with such disrespect. Unbelievable! read more

Call me a snob, as I honestly never thought I could be raving about my experience in a resale shop, but if I could raise the bar to 10 stars rather than five, I would do it in a heartbeat. I can, and have, spent hours in the shop finding both clothing as well as home decor items. I have bought everything from Ferragamo and Prada shoes to Coach and Tory Burch purses to Michael Kors and Moschino clothing..and all in excellent condition and the slightest percentage of the original price. Their inventory changes almost daily and thus each visit is like a new treasure. One never knows what to expect and the only given is that everything is both unique and one of a kind. A visit there can change the nastiest, most depressed, and/and or bored mood. And it's not only the treasures you'll find, but the exchange you'll have with the staff that will turn you into a Kindred Spirit junkie. I enjoy a great consignment store. Out of all the ones I have been to in the north hills of Pittsburgh this is definitely the nicest store. It has more of a boutique feel where others have a TJ Maxx vibe. However, the representation is reflected in the price. You will pay almost double what you would pay at the other consignment stores (one less than a mile away). Other reviewers commented on the rudeness of the staff - when I went I had on gym clothes (nothing special), had all four kids in tow, and was looking for a particular dress. They were friendly and helped me located the dress - maybe because they wanted me to hurry up and get out of the store with my kids :) read more

For any of you that were snubbed by the old staff please give them another chance as they are under new management within the past year. Today when I walked in I was pleasantly greeted and had excellent customer service. I was so please that I spoke with the woman that was helping me & told her she was the first person that had ever greeted me and helped me ( I have shopped there for several years) I was informed that the shop has a new owner and there is a whole new staff. Cudo's to the new owner that has hired an excellent staff who knows how to treat and welcome all there customers! They were well stocked for fall and had several good deals. I also found out that you no longer need to make appointments to consign your things. I would suggest that you call them for details. Let's help out a small business owner succeed in a rough time. The ladies who work here are incredibly rude. I walked in 20 minutes before closing and was not-so-politely "reminded" that they close in 20 minutes. If you don't want customers, then lock the doors! Then, when I was in the dressing room, the staff were gossiping (meanly), and complaining how tiresome it is to have to deal with the customers (who are clearly not at their high level of society). After trying on the items, I informed the staff that one was missing a button and another was stained. The prices are acceptable only if there is a big sale. I can find much better deals at clearance sales at Macy's and other stores. I will not be shopping there again. read more

This is a very quaint, homey, comfortable store in the heart of old Wexford that you have to visit! The ladies there are so nice and friendly...the type of women that you can become friends with. The boutique (and ladies!) is in a class notches above the other "rack upon rack, narrow, boring, smelly, impersonal" consignment stores popping up in the area. Kindred Spirits has nooks and crannies that you can meander through and discover all kinds of nice items - clothing, jewelry, purses, shoes, home decor, and such. It's an enjoyable journey through their store instead of the stark, personality-less atmosphere in the other stores. Revisited Kindred Spirits and forgot how fun, and interesting the store is. The owner was so helpful. I mentioned I was going to Italy and she gave me tons of advice on clothes, shoes, wrote all the names down and where to go for them. Got some great jewelry on sale. I found the help wonderful and engaging in our girl talk. Even getting advice on the lipstick that we complimented them on. I feel bad reading some of the negative reviews, not our experience at all. Yes, some things might seem pricey, but they are designers and even they were on sale. The condition of the items were impeccable. For a resale store, can't be beat. And I was surprised at all the household items, and furniture. All on sale today! Will be back with more friends, a fun girls day! read more

The shop is packed with up-to-date fashion at great prices. I found many designer items along with lots of other on trend items (including purses, shoes and jeweler) in perfect shape. The shop doesn't give you the feel of a typical resale shop, but instead it feels more like a best friend's amazing closet or a fun boutique. The women in the shop were cheerful and pleasant - each greeted me with a smile. I've sold a few things as well and was very happy with the compensation I received. Overall a great experience in a beautiful shop! Loved it! read more
