All I wanted was very spicy food when pregnant and then went back to being somewhat of a wimp after pregnancy. Spicy means spicy. I don't know who gave this Chef permission to make such amazing food, but THANK YOU. Indian cuisine is one of those things I just cannot replicate at home. This meal did not hold back on spice or portions and everything was cooked to perfection. Amazing food, surprised to find such authentic Kerala flavors in the American Midwest. We ordered beef roast with parotta (beef was made to order and cooked to perfection) and thali (every curry tasted nice). At the end of our meal the chef came down personally to ask if everything was alright, nice touch. Our new favorite Indian place! Best Naan in town. The Gobi was a great start. Got two of the house specials for meals. The Fish Pollichathu was something we hadn't seen before and the banana leaf wrapped fish was perfectly cooked. Service was excellent, as well as the atmosphere. Samosas, chutney, and tamarin were very good. Butter chicken was cooked well with chicken thighs, but was surprisingly under flavored. A pinch of salt would have done wonders, but the texture was pleasant. I asked for hot, but it was barely noticeable. The rice and naan were both very good. Serving size was good. I had heard the hype surrounding Kinaara, so I wanted to see for myself. Now I'm by no means an Indian food connoisseur, and many items on the menu were foreign to me. The waiter was fantastic about checking in on us and answering all of our questions. Our table started with the mango lassi and masala fries. Now I've had mango lassi before, but nothing compares to the mango lassi I had at Kinaara. It was so refreshing and not over-the-top sweet. I almost slurped the whole thing down before our main dishes even came out! The paneer masala fries were also very tasty and unique. For the main dish, I ordered the lamb biriyani. While I do wish there was a little more lamb in the dish, I was very satisfied with how it came out. I also couldn't help but order some cheese naan to eat on the side, and if I wasn't so full I would have ordered more! As we were finishing our food, the chef and owner came out to chat with everyone. It was the sweetest thing! I really love the environment at Kinaara. Well, when you get greeted with a blank stare and just being stared at and then asked "How can I help you?" It doesn't make a person feel very welcome. It's a restaurant, isn't it obvious why we are there? The hostess seemed hesitant and scared that we showed up. She asked if we had reservations. I said no, and based on her unsureness, I asked "Is it reservation only now?" She still seemed hesitant and then finally said "Our tables are already reserved.................but you can sit at the bar or the patio". Mind you, the bar was empty and there was only one table taken on the patio, leaving plenty of space. We weren't dressed in rags. (Not that her attire was formal whats so ever; Jean shorts & a t-shirt.) We didn't understand her unwarm welcome, besides her lack of training in hospitality. Our menus were dirty and I let the waiter know. The waiter was great. We both thought our meals were bland. Curry chicken and tiki masala. Nice and creamy, but missing flavor. I was surprised at how good Kinaara was, because I usually only go to Jaipur for Indian food. I would suggest a reservation however we made ours 20 minutes before arriving. The inside is nice. Our waiter was outstanding. I wish I remembered his name. He use to cook for them and so he knew every little thing about every dish. Amazing place. Prompt service that let us take things at our pace. We started with appetizers and drinks and the let us take our time and enjoy this and our chatting and catching up without rushing us. Then took our entree orders in a a friendly and unrushed way. Our group if 4 tried samosas chaat, veg pakora, lamb biriyani, butter chicken and lamb curry. It was all fabulous. Full flavor and delicious. We had one dish come out with the mistake of lamb and not chicken but after a taste we decided to keep it. The chef apologized and offered to make the change and we appreciated gesture and attention. The restaurant space itself is gorgeous. It was Saturday afternoon and not too busy but busy enough to see it's a place popular with couples, families and groups of friends like ours. I was pleasantly surprised by Kinaara's Indian food. The masala fries were a delicious appetizer. The masala sauce was delicious and full of flavor. I also had the chicken biryani as a main entree, which was good but not amazing as the chicken could have used a bit more flavor. This location has opened fairly recently according to what my group was told when we were there. So they struggled a bit with servicing the tables and the waiters and waitresses seemed a bit uncoordinated and we had to wait for quite a while for our good. BUT The food was amazing. I have never had Butter Chicken before but this one was so good that I am now afraid to try it anyplace else. The appetizers are great for sharing and the menu has something for everybody but is not too big. Big menus to me are often a red light tbh so this menu was just perfect imo. The chef came to us to check in on our table after he discovered that we had been waiting for a while and I believe it was his wife offered to buy everybody at the table a drink on the house. I think this place is really great, the owners care and try really hard to please their customers and truly care about your experience. Give them a shot please if you have never been before and support their business - but while they are adjusting to the new, larger location, be patient when you come in. read more

Got some take out on a Saturday evening, called the order in and my wife has to eat gluten free so I was comforted when I requested to verify gluten free items the individual did verify they would be. Pick up was super easy and the food was on time. An individual brought the food out and the credit card reader so we could pay there. The food was extremely flavorful and the Masala sweet potato fries were my favorite. We played it safe and ordered everything mild and overall think we will request medium next time. The food we had was good but it took almost 45 minutes to get our food and they weren't that busy. We got our food and only had 5 minutes to eat. This was so close to a 5 star rating! The food is absolutely incredible, probably second rank of Indian food I've ever had anywhere, delicious enough to rank 5 stars for sure. I just had a couple issues with the overall experience. One, the acoustics in here are distractingly bad. It was deafeningly loud with only four or five tables. Two, though the service was friendly and accurate, it took literally over twenty minutes to be helped after we sat down, and not due to a shortage of employees. Three, although the chai and naan were very delicious, I was notably unhappy with the value for them. Excited to try this place as it looked very nice with great food, pictured on their Instagram. We made a reservation, we arrived before our time and were seated 15 minutes after our original reservation time. My date and I had the Masala Fries as an appetizer. It was an American twist as it included sweet potato fries covered with masala sauce. We chose Paneer as the protein. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala (medium) which came with Basmati Rice. It was tasty although it wasn't as creamy as other Indian restaurants that I have been to. My date ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala although she was hoping the restaurant offered Matter Paneer, which they did not have. She explained that the sauce was lacking flavor and spice. We ordered a Buttered Naan as a side, the naan was a bit doughy compared to more of a flakey texture. Overall, service was a little slow but it was busy with the dinner rush. read more

Been wanting to try Kinaara since they took over this location. Yesterday I parked and called in to make an order (couldn't go in due to COVID-19). The woman who answered said they were on an hour wait, but, would be happy to bring me the mango lassi I was craving. When the woman, who turned out to be the owner, brought my drink she told me they had a couple different dishes ready if I wanted to pick from them. I was super excited to hear one of the options was tikka masala which I love! I waited about 7 minutes and the food was brought to my car. I absolutely love mango lassi's so it was already half gone when I got to work. YUM! The tikka masala with rice was fantastic. Creamy sauce, moist chicken and delicious! I was extremely impressed by Kinaara. Their new location in Regency is beautiful and classy inside, though I picked up my order for takeout. I ordered the samosas, tofu tikka masala extra hot, and the chicken biryani hot. I only ordered extra hot because I saw another reviewer say the spice levels were not authentic - I strongly disagree. I love spicy food (I'll eat ghost pepper salsa from Trader Joe's) and the extra hot was so hot I had to add some plain Greek yogurt. The tofu tikka masala was amazing, the tofu was prepared in a way I really thought it was paneer! Delicious! I also loved the biryani and raita. The samosa was one of the best I've had! And extremely large. Personally, I thought everything was more than fairly priced for the quality, and quantity of food. read more

Undoubtedly, Kinaara is one of my new favorite restaurants that I want to keep eating over and over again. The Chicken Tikka Masala may be the best version of that dish I have ever eaten, like ever. The Chicken Biryani is also the best version of that dish I've had. So much rice and meat for the price, easily two meals or shared between two people. The naan was also delicious, but I'd avoid getting the Tikka Wings. They looks extremely flavorful in the pictures, but it was a bit more bland than the other rockstar dishes and the skin was too chewy. My only other caution is the dishes are HOT. I ordered medium thinking I could put on a brave face, but even the medium had me drinking water between each bite. Mild for me all the way! So why 4 stars? After a recent post on the Omaha Food Lovers facebook page, they were inundated with traffic and seemingly unable to handle the amount of business they were getting. On our first and very impressionable visit, my husband drove to the restaurant from Elkhorn and drove all the way back to realize that we were missing TWO entrees and a side dish. We called back and the person who answered the phone didn't have one of the entrees as part of our order even though I repeated my order twice on the phone (and he confirmed it once). They did comp us the missing dishes, HOWEVER, my husband had to drive back and still wait another 30 minutes to receive the food. So the first part of our order was ready to eat around 6:00 and the second part wasn't until closer to 7:00 which is really disappointing when you want to eat together as a family. We definitely want to eat it again and really hope the kinks have been worked out! read more

Focusing on the food since I ordered take out...it was hit and miss at Kinaara. The Butter Chicken was pretty bland as other reviewers have said. Mostly tasted tomato. The chicken Tikka Masala however was really tasty and flavorful. The chicken in both dishes unfortunately was dry. It was cut into pieces that were too large and the texture just wasn't very pleasant. The garlic naan was great, though a few too many pieces were a bit cracker-like on the ends. Good roasty garlic flavor. The gulab jamun were drier and more cake-like than I'm used to. Usually the whole piece is soaked through but these weren't. The syrup was on the thin side and the cardamom flavor was too subtle in my opinion. read more
