My son and i decided to try the lunch buffet. It gives us an opportunity to try dishes we haven't tasted before . The restaurant had very few people there. The actual buffet was small. The dishes i tried were not flavorful. The selection was small. The goat curry contained very little goat meat. The chunks were primary bone fat and grissle. The flavor was bland. The samosas were all breading and no filling. The restaurant was dark. The people there were friendly . Neither my son nor I liked it. We like Indian food and flavors . The former location of a a Japanese Yakiniku restaurant Zaika has made this space their very own. Having never been here before I was excited to give their lunch buffet a try. Buffet is offered on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 to 2. Menu is available for lunch hours as well as dinner hours. Check their website for details. We were pleasantly greeted by the pleasant restaurant owner who directed us to a wonderful buffet. Not on the buffet, but offered was any type of freshly made naan we preferred. We enjoyed the garlic naan and some soft drinks as this restaurant does not offer alcohol unless the bartender is on duty in the evening. The buffet started with vegetarian options that included fresh fruit, salad items, and condiments. Wonderful vegetarian dishes that offered several types of lentil dishes, zucchini, eggplant, and rice, which were absolutely delicious. The meat area is completely Halal and today's dishes included butter and tandoori chicken options, a goat vindaloo stew that reminded me of beef short rib and was absolutely fabulous, Their meat dumplings were exceptionally delicate what's, and super yummy. Been awhile since I've been to Zaika. Last few times I've tried they were closed. Now I'm not sure if it's new owners or what but they no longer have a liquor license. At lunch today it was somewhat odd. Good but but odd. Waiter is part owner I think. Dressed like he just got out of bed lol... He was nice but I never got my water refilled once. My Palek paneer was very good. Toms of flavor. My mulligatawny soup was unfortunately not good. Was thin and not what you think of when it comes to that soup. It used to be amazing here. I think ~7 veg options and ~ 7 meat options, alongside some salad, watermelon, rice, raita. At least when I went, you had to find someone to get Naan (someone also eating there told us) - unsure if that is always the case, but if so, would be nice if there was a button or something you could press to get someone to come over to give more naan, refill water/drinks, etc. I'd love for 1 dish to be on the spicier end - to me, nothing was that spicy (but I get the buffet needs to cater to many palets) read more

Spectacular food! I'm from out of town, we came here for a family dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Besides than one other family, we were the only ones there but their service was great. Theres blackout screens/shades on the inside of the windows so it appears they would be closed but thankfully they have a big neon 'open' sign out front. We hit the lunch buffet on a Friday (not a fan of buffets, generally, but that's where Indian food is at its best), and before we could sit down the owner was giving us a pregame walkthrough and a brief synopsis of each dish. Really nice guy, and really, really good food. The "Chicken 65" was the standout among standouts, brimming with flavor and a nice kick. The Lahsuhi Gobi apps is a wonderful, nice vegetarian app to get things started. My husband loves the Mixed Biryani, a huge portion that has a full meals worth in the leftovers. Overall, we had a pleasant experience at Zaika. I enjoyed being able to request a heat level for each dish, which I haven't found at lots of Indian restaurants. We may have overdid it, but chicken tikka madras hot had quite the kick. I also appreciated how they used FRESH curry leaves in the dish. We also had chicken vindaloo, and while not my favorite variation of this dish, it was still good, just wasn't as spicy or flavorful as I've come accustomed to for vindaloos. The garlic naan was okay, but seemed like the frozen type rather than freshly baked. I did also enjoy that they gave us free popper with chutney and brown sauce as an appetizer. Service was great. We ordered take out from Zaika and were pretty pleased overall with everything, just not wowed. The samosa was great...crispy and the filling wasn't too earthy. We got two standbys: chicken tikka masala and butter chicken. Both were fine, about average in my pretty extensive Indian dining experience. The cheese naan was almost too cheesy--not a complaint I think I've ever made lol. But I do love the tandoor flavor in the bread and the cheese overpowered it. read more

We went here for our date night last Saturday and Zaika exceeded our expectations! I wish I could give them bonus stars! The first waiter that seated us, had a wonderful, funny personality. He suggested the Lahsuhi Gobi for an appetizer and it was delicious! For our main dishes, we got the Lamb Korma and the Lamb Kadai. The Korma was our favorite but they with both so tasty. The garlic nan was amazing dipped in the korma. On top of the food being outstanding, the atmosphere was romantic and warm and the wait staff was incredibly polite and gracious that we were there. I had the good fortune of visiting Zaika with family on a Friday afternoon for the lunch buffet. It was very obvious immediately that this was a smallish, almost potluck layout than a high-volume cafeteria operation, and that suited my family very well. The nice variety of dishes was comparable in number to most Indian buffets, but the quality of each was superb! I've only been to two other Indian buffets (Denver and SF) where you swirl the spoon around in the pan to serve yourself and it nearly makes your jaw drop when you see the colors and textures and then smell the aroma. It is THAT kind of place! The young men who brought out the naan and checked numerous times to see if we needed anything were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was quiet and clean and decorative. My family is already planning to have our Thanksgiving and Black Friday meals there next year when I visit from Colorado and it will be soooooo much more flavorful than turkey!!! read more

Two tables had to get up and physically find the waiter for water, to-go boxes and their check. Three Uber Eats/Doordash drivers waited at the entrance the entire time we ate and two gave up and left. Our food was edible as we were starving but the portIon size for the price was outrageous. The dinner service is good, but the best deal here is the brunch buffet. For around $20, you get all you can eat Indian favorites including chicken tikka masala, rice, naan, and other offerings plus dessert. It was Diwali and I was hungry- and I found Zaika on Yelp. To my Omaha friends who have rated this place highly, I say "thank you!" Zaika offers great food and attentive service. I tried the Lahsuni Gobi, and the Chicken 65. Each was delicious- I've never tried Lahsuni Gobi before- and I wish I had! It was DELICIOUS! Crispy and crunchy, with a fantastic sauce over the top. The chicken 65 (which I'd been craving for like a week) was excellent- with a nice spicy flavor. I ordered a cheese naan, and it was wonderful- not just cheese, but spices and seasonings as well. Paneer is one of life's joy, and tucking it inside wonderful naan is a nice trick. A perfect snack for a cold fall night. This place is new- the waiter shared they've been open for three months- AND they have a lunch buffet. I'll be back. read more

The table ordered two plates of the garlic naan and that was even more delicious when complimented with the mint chutney sauce. Food was amazing, but the service was even better. The waitstaff was extremely attentive, patient and they were flexible when my friend wanted to make substitutions to her dish. At the end of the night, they surprised our table with dessert (Rasgulla, deep fried cheese cooked in sugar syrup). It was unique but very sweet and reminded me of pancakes.
