Paneer Kadai
Julia Y.

My family and I frequent this spot for some of the best Indian food in Omaha! And being homebodies, we typically order takeout. That being said, their to go service is phenomenal. The order is typically ready before the estimated time, so be sure to head there quickly to make sure you can pick up your food fresh. Being vegetarian, I've tried a few different dishes here, and I've always been impressed with the amount of flavor and variety that they offer. Paneer Kadai has been a top favorite of mine due to just how rich it is in spices. Frankly, I don't even have the vocabulary to explain and the menu simply says exotic spices, so I'm not sure what it is in here that makes it so memorable ... but I crave it regularly. Recently, I decided to try another dish - the paneer tikka masala. Of course, this is tomato-based, and while it did not have the same level of 'Exotic spices' oh, it warmed me from the inside our and had no shortage of paneer! I'd recommend a tikka masala to someone that isn't as familiar with Indian spices and wants to get started with something simple. Oh, my family, and I always order the garlic naan, and absolutely love it! If you are going all out, be sure to order a dessert for the experience. The textures are unique in each one that I've tried, and the flavors are usually mild. I personally enjoyed the rasmalai, but take a look at the options and see which one peaks your interest! I'm a return customer here, and if you enjoy Indian food, or want to get out of your comfort zone to try some, I'd highly recommend it!

Chicken Tikka Masala

Everything was delicious and perfect. We were very happy with our meal. We dined in, which was great, but it would have been nice if they played more than one song over and over. The food was so good and fresh. I can't wait until we eat there again.

Ordered take-out. Muligatwany soup was very different than advertised. Thin broth with peas and carrots in it. Right color just not the rich, curried soup with rice garnish that you might be used to. Portions seemed small but flavor was good and spice level just right. Naan was pretty good. Didn't seem freshly made. Make sure you order mint chutney if you want it. None comes with it. Ok place but there are better options in Omaha area.

This is probably some of the best Indian food I've had in Omaha. Every person I dined with thought the food was incredible. The service, however, was somewhat lacking. All of the entrees came out at different times, which meant some people in the party felt awkward staring to eat before others. And it was difficult to flag down the waiter at the end of the meal for boxes and to pay. On the basis of how delicious the food was though, I will certainly be coming back or getting takeout in the future

Amazing!! Our neighbors are from southern India and recommended Hyderabadi to us. We are so glad they did because this is our new favorite restaurant. Vijayawada Special Chicken Biryani is our go to and it is always amazing. We decided to try the Chicken Tikka Pizza last night and wow! So darn good! Honestly anything here is amazing. We have also had several of their curry options and loves those too.

Ghee roast dosa and butter chicken (front)

The food here is way better than it was when this place was Tanduri Fusion! And the atmosphere isn't so dark anymore. Much less bar-like. My friend and I tried a few items, all good. The ghee roast dosa was huge and very tasty. The chutneys that came with it were both good, but the (temperature) hot one is also very spicy. The dosa itself was a tad thinner than I prefer but had good lentil flavor. The vada were very hot when they came out but had way too many onions IMO. Especially noticeable because the onions were basically raw inside the dough. But the batter itself tasted flavorful and wasn't too oily. The butter chicken was delish! The mild heat level had a kick to it still, but wasn't overwhelming. The chicken chunks were tender and the gravy was equal parts bright and earthy...hard to achieve this balance. Plenty of basmati rice came with the dish too. I had leftovers. The service wasn't great, hence the 4 stars. There was only one guy working as a server and the takeout person so he was very busy. It wasn't all his fault, they should have scheduled another worker. But even so, he moved slowly and had no sense of urgency. Not the best recipe for success when you're trying to stick to an hour for lunch.

Chicken tikka marsala, some garlic naan, and White Rice

Definitely one of my favorite spots to eat here in Omaha. When you come in they have beautiful artwork on the wall. The staff is very nice and they don't bother you too much while you're eating. Food here is amazing! Everything seems really fresh and made with care. If you like Indian food, I would highly recommend this place.

Bawarchi Indian Cuisine…read more *Chicken Tikka Masala - medium heat *Chicken Masala Fries - mild heat *Chicken Tikka Korma - medium heat *Butter Chicken - mild heat *Garlic Naan Bawarchi has quickly become my favorite Indian restaurant, and I crave it all day, every day!! Chicken Tikka Masala has always been my favorite dish, but I tried my sisters' and mom's dishes, and I loved them both!! Honestly, if you try any of my recommendations, this is the one I would say to try! The inside is more of a nice casual vibe and our waiter was super sweet! I 100% recommend going!!

Bawarchi didn't give me an option to do that for delivery, so I made special instructions notes on everything "not spicy" - I did what I could to prevent it from being too spicy for me. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened. Butter chicken is as safe as an Indian food you can get to avoid spice, it's usually not spicy at all and just creamy. I took one bite of this and knew it was inedible for me. Way too spicy. I was very bummed. I got chicken tikka momos which are a weekend special, I'm very confused if they gave me normal ones or what because inside it was completely normal looking chicken, not seasoned, no sauce.. and they also were a little spicy, tolerable at least but still didn't taste at all like chicken tikka. I also had the samosas and I did think they were good and honestly the only reason I gave it any stars. It's still a little spicy but again tolerable enough that I was able to eat them. A little expensive at over $7 for two. Lastly I got the egg dosa. It's advertised as "fluffy eggs inside crepe" but I literally couldn't tell if they even gave me an egg dosa or a regular one. There was no fluffy eggs, no flavor, no anything. Extremely disappointing. Overall, I probably would not try again. If I'm explicitly writing not spicy and it's still so spicy I can't even eat it, there's something wrong. I've eaten plenty of Indian food where the spice level is fine and there is no reason for me to worry it'll be inedible but sadly this is not one of those places Threw my money and this food in the trash. What a waste. :(

It was a Thursday evening and not very busy. Only two other tables when we were there which really surprised me after tasting the food. They started out with the complimentary papadam with two different sauces a mint chutney and a brown sauce not sure what it is but both great. We started off with the naan bread basket and an another garlic cheese naan definitely didn't need more than the bread basket was a very large portion to split. All were very tasty the garlic was my favorite. I had the Karnali combo biryani which was awesome had the right heat I asked for spice wise and good amount of all the different meats. My wife got the mango masala which she really enjoyed and isn't always the biggest Indian food fan but she ate hers and ate the leftovers the next day as well. My aunt had chicken korma which she raved about as well. My mother tried the malai kofta she had only tried Indian food once many years ago and this experience confirmed she's not a fan and has a bad taste palette haha. I really enjoyed this dish as well and was happy to have the leftovers the next couple days. We ordered her some chicken tenders from the kids menu but those also had some seasonings more cumin I'd say and others that she didn't enjoy but our 14 month old really enjoyed. So if you have a very picky eater maybe go with one of the other kids options. The white creamy sauce that came with my biryani was also bursting with flavor and had a great cooling sensation. The man who served our table was very friendly and even played peek a boo with our baby from the register area. Place had a nice vibe and was very clean bathrooms included. Definitely will be back and you should go check out this spot!

Driving through…read morefor work I was craving something spicy so decided to look for an Indian or Thai restaurant close to the freeway. This one had good ratings and wasn't too far of the main road, so I took the chance. Swung in and got a seat in the back by the windows. I ordered veg samosa to start with lamb vindaloo & garlic naan for my main. I asked for extra spice. Usually when asked how hot I want my food on a scale of 1-10, if I say anything less than 12 it's not spicy enough. I told them "extra spicy" and my waiter asked if I was sure I wanted it EXTRA spicy and I assured him I did. I have to say this was one of the spiciest dishes I've ever eaten. When I told him extra spicy, I think he told the cook to make me regret being born. After 3 bites, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to finish it.... the sweat was beading on my forehead and my nose was like a firehose. I powered on. It was too delish not to. The lamb must have been pressure cooked or simmered for days because I've never hand lamb this tender in my life. It melted in my mouth. The rise and naan helped a bit with the heat, but I ordered a mango lassi for good measure. It came with a light dusting of pistaccio and coconut on the top, and was a great cool for the burn. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Omaha. this place did NOT disappoint. Just be careful how spicy you order your dish. :-)

Love the food, service is mediocre at best…read more Loved the tandoori shrimp with poratta as Dan Hoppen suggests, making a taco with the chutney. Butter chicken, naan, etc. were delicious as well as the cocktails. The problem here is the food is amazing and the service is poor. The first time we came here we waited for 30+ minutes PAST our reservation time and were never seated. We were not even offered water or a drink, we asked for the manager and never saw one, and stormed out. We waited a year and went back due to people raving about this place and had a OK time, not the best Indian food in the area but a fresh take, OK service. This trip was back to a less than ideal experience. Waited 15 minutes from seating to get a drink order. Didn't even see wait staff telling us they'd be with us soon. I expected this knowing this place is all good food and poor service, so no surprise. We were greeted AS IF this was totally normal, get your table and wait 15 minutes, so no apologies or acknowledgement that we'd even been sitting and waiting. Quickly ordered drinks apps and the meal proceeded as expected, with a more regular pace. At the end of the meal we want a box, to pay and leave. Again, waiting for a long time with no wait staff helping us. I love the food but you can honestly get better Indian food for WAY less money a mile away, and the staff doesn't treat you like you need them and they don't need you. Atmosphere is decent, but didn't have music playing even though they have speakers I can see. The cost of the restaurant does not match the delivery on the service or ambiance. Not sure if the staff is underpaid, or the leadership doesn't honor quality front of house, but it's a total mismatch. We had 2 sets of silverware and one was rolled normal like, the other was rolled up like 6 inches differentiation because of the poor and inconsistent preparation of the silverware/napkin. This would not fly at most every cheap-o restaurant, but apparently here that's what you get. It really seemed like the staff didn't really care. The price point doesn't match the service. Good food, be prepared to wait and expect you're paying for the food not the service.

The vibe is friendly and low key, you don't need to get dressed up here, come as you are. The service was super sweet and attentive throughout our visit. She provided us with included samples of this delicious mango pudding dessert that BLEW my mind - truly. So sweet, creamy, and bright! For my meal, I gave the malai kafta a try, which is one of my go - to choices at Indian restaurants, so I have a strong basis to judge.. and Percy's knocked it out of the park! The veggie balls were soft and smooth when cut open, but firm enough to not fall apart in the sauce. The flavors present were so incredibly warm and rich that I could have simply eaten it like soup! I personally ordered a 4 in spice on their 10 scale, and could have handled a 5 in terms of spice, but staying at a 4 keeps your nose from running! The naan options are super fun, and you can select from plain, cheesy, garlic, and more! I personally went with the cheese naan and it was so full that it was almost like a quesadilla ! That is super rare in my experiences, and I was pleasantly surprised by the heftiness of this naan. Each order is 4 pieces for only a few bucks. My companion ordered an appetizer as a meal, and said they also could have gone spicier - so the lesson here may be to trust your spice tolerance and go just one more notch above what you think you can handle! The creaminess and balance of spices allows everything to melt together rather than be overpowered by one element. I'll definitely be returning to Percys and hope you give it a try! I'll need to order a full order of the mango dessert next time :)
