We were already in Marin and stopped in to purchase one. What should have been a simple, sweet transaction turned uncomfortable very quickly. After requesting just one rose, my husband was met with visible irritation and dismissive behavior. No customer should be made to feel embarrassed or unwelcome for making a modest purchase. Whether someone is buying a single stem or an elaborate arrangement, professionalism and courtesy should be the baseline. This interaction completely changed how I view this business. If you are looking for real craftsmanship, this is the real deal (look at the website and the many other pictures as examples of the fine work--I will also upload a picture of the flowers I had sent to my girlfriend). I support local *everything*, as I know many of you fine folks do. As such, I was looking for local flowers, not something flown in and chemically-preserved from halfway around the world (that doesn't say romance to me). 7petals Design seems to have a mission in this way in their business--they source their flowers grown in the local area and were able to communicate well what was available and what was not. I was also looking for custom design; I did not want the same bouquet that everyone else could look at or click on a web page. Again, supporting craftsmanship, art, design...and shouldn't an expression of love be individualized and truly personal? I'll be honest with you, too; at times I can be an overly demanding, OCD customer with unrealistic requests. In this case, I e-mailed MaryAnn back and forth about a dozen times on so many different things, it's embarrassing. Finally, I even decided on a custom made card (that I created) and arranged to drop that off so that it could be delivered with the bouquet. Each one of my requests was handled immediately, with a high level of customer service and even good feedback to boot. I will be a repeat customer.
